One late night phone call, it came up. “What’s your stance on abortion?” Tina asked. Teddy hesitated. “I think if both parents agree, and it’s early…it’s not murder. Especially before three months.” She was quiet. “I mean, if God hasn’t given it breath yet, it’s not…life, right?” “That’s not how I see it,” she said, voice low. He shrugged. “You are always chasing God’s approval. Like, chill. You act like He expects you to be perfect or something.” Then he added something he’d regret. “That’s dumb.” She didn’t yell. She just whispered, “You don’t respect how I see the world.” And for the first time…she didn’t give him a chance to apologize.
