Lucian hadn't been in the inner city since he was a baby but even the he couldn't remember what it looked like. Not to mention he'd only been in Brisdel. When his feet were firmly planted on the ground yet again he gazed around at his surroundings. It was a big towering city full of plants and vines growing on everything. Shops, vendors, and lanterns lined the streets. Trees growing atop buildings caused a rainforest canopy effect. But the thing that twisted the knife in Lucian's chest was all the people. They were laughing and chatting and enjoying themselves. Here put this on Penelope whispered as she threw a cloak at Vermillion, you don't look human enough to be wandering around her freely. Vermillion nodded and put it on, carful to conceal the girl as well. Lucian had to hold back tears of anger as he followed the others. The building they stopped at was an inn with warm golden light pouring from it's windows. Here, this is the best place for you to stay Penelope offered. Thanks again Cupid sighed, I'll come over to the studio tomorrow. Alright she replied and kissed his cheek before running off. No one spoke as Cupid checked in and led them to a room upstairs. I'm gonna need an explanation Lucian told as he sat on one of the beds, is she your girlfriend, how did you meet, what's the studio, why did she pull my hair, and most importantly why'd she help us into the city. Vermillion was hardly paying attention as he set the girl in the other bed and began unpacking his things. Alright Cupid smirked, no I'm gay, she just kinda found me, where I work, to see if you'd moan, and because she's my co-worker and bestfriend. Lucian thought for a moment while Cupid waited. As he expected Lucian's face turned bright red. Why on earth would she wanna know that he demanded. Cupid just laughed. You two are loud Vermillion stated. He was sitting on the floor next to the other bed. He looked tired. We should get some sleep Lucian sighed. Yeah, we have a long few days ahead of us Cupid agreed. I'll get the lights Vermillion said flatly, you both can take the empty bed. Lucian felt bad that Vermillion was sleeping on the floor but he soon remembered that that was what he and Cupid were forced to do while staying in Vermillion's room. He no longer had any sympathy.
