I. Context

(Territorial Map of the Empires)

Set in the age of Ancient Euria, the narrative takes place as the Dragon and Wolf Empires endure a merciless half-century-long North-South war.

1. The Cataclysm

Long before the clash of empires, a great calamity descended upon the world, a catastrophe born from the strife of dragons.

As told in the Tale of the Lost Eyes, the disaster scourged the land, corrupting the southeast into a Wasteland of Death. In that accursed place, the sun’s light faded, life decayed and only grotesque abominations roamed the hollow expanse.

2. Vox.

The Deadlands are ruled by the Vox, twisted abominations. Once noble creatures favored by the divine, like dragons and wolves, they were warped into wretched victims of the catastrophe. Strife consumed them, rotting their spirits until only cruelty remained. Now, they exist as vessels of rage, forever thirsting for slaughter.

The Vox are a grotesque fusion of flesh, formless and ever-changing, as though sculpted from nightmare shards. They slither through the Deadlands’ darkness like living shadows, each step oozing a strange white fluid—rumored to be the essence of shattered souls. Their elongated forelimbs drag behind them as they lurch forward, their sunken eye sockets burning with an unnatural, icy glow.

Death means nothing to the Vox. They don’t eat, don’t sleep, yet they crave carnage above all else. They cannot be injured, and though they are crippled by their own nature, unable to fly, swim or even move with purpose, they are still nightmares made flesh. The Vox don’t form packs, the bigger they are, the more brutal. Though devoid of intellect, they sense life instinctively and anything living that strays too close is marked for annihilation.

Of all beings, only Yvnes, a mage of boundless compassion, ever possessed the power to soothe the Vox’s torment.

3. The Eudoran Empire - A Kingdom Under the Absolute Rule of the Dragonkin

The Eudoran Empire spans from West to Southeast across expansive lands. Blessed with seasonal beauty and abundant resources, it stands as a powerful realm representing political and economic strength.

Yet despite its wealth and might, Eudora constantly faces two looming threats: an escalating conflict with Isdore, and fortress walls that endure relentless assaults from the Deadlands, where the Vox creatures run rampant.

4. The Isdorian Empire - A kingdom ruled by the Wolfkin.

Perched upon the barren northwestern lands where harsh winters reign, Isdore not only survives but thrives. Though lacking in resources and economic might, this empire possesses one extraordinary advantage, magic still flows through chosen individuals. Most significantly, Isdore remains untouched by the Deadlands' corruption.

5. Tale of the Lost Eyes.

Legends say a curse was cast to seal away the discord, bringing an end to the Great Cataclysm. Yet this curse did more than silence the conflict, it left behind a lingering agony for future generations and stripped the dragons of their innate magic. (Details are mentioned in chapter 2)

II. Timeline (spoiler alert)

(illustrative image of time distortion)

The story begins when our female protagonist is thirteen years old. By Volume One, she turns eighteen and works at Military District Eleven, following a life-altering tragedy.

(Spoiler Warning)

The story is tagged as isekai because the main character, Liiaya, is a dimension-crosser. She originates from a parallel world that has met its demise, a lifeless realm where time stands still. The narrative universe consists of countless reality branches, or parallel worlds, existing simultaneously and sustained by the Time Core. Each line represents a distinct world. The Time Core (central golden dot) serves as the energy source that powers time, while the large circles represent Time Rings that maintain order among parallel worlds.

The black dots symbolize "Incidents" - catastrophic events causing complete reality collapse. When a timeline experiences an Incident, it fractures, changing from gold to white, marking the end of time in that reality.

From the second ring outward, time streams become distorted due to multiple reality collapses. The protagonist's timeline, called Hope, serves as a crucial pillar reality that maintains the Time Protection Ring's operation. Should Hope perish, the Time Core would cease functioning permanently. No new realities would emerge, life in the universe would end and darkness would consume everything.

All these "Incidents" are part of the Grand Design orchestrated by the self-proclaimed "God." (Details will be revealed as the story progresses)
