“Change it, it’s boring..” said Sierra.
“Wait! No!” Garland protested “I still want to watch it!”
Rose
took the remote and change the channel to the Celestia Dion concert at
the capital Eisengrand, singing a song called my galaxy will go on.
“No! Heero about to destroy that libra!” Garland wailed “Switch it back!”
Rein sat on the sofa to watch the concert. Dianna giggled, she offered him a chocolate cake. Garland took the plate and sighed. He sat at the corner, murmuring while eating the cake.
“She’s so popular nowadays..” mentioned Eleanor.
“Yeah..” said Rein "I like her voice.."
“She's beautiful too..” Kincade peeking from the kitchen.
Laylah who sat at the corner pouting her cheek.
“Isn’t she almost 150?” said Sierra “Then again.. Kincade is an old man.”
“Whose the old man?” Kincade looking confused.
“You, who else?”
“Me? Oh come on! how old do you think i look?”
Dianna tilting her head “Maybe.. 300?”
“Whaaaa,” Kincade dropped the ladle “I’m still 30.”
“Really?” Rose perplexed “you’re younger than me?”
Kincade facepalmed.
They heard a beeping, Asha was informing them they were finally arrived at their destination. Rose turned off the TV and they all quickly went to the bridge; Kincade had to go back to the kitchen to turned off the stove. They were at the edge of the planetary system. After Kincade returned, he sat at the helms.
“Let’s go!” said Rein.
Kincade steered their ship. They were passing several moon sized planets emanating bluish dust from the crater, as they went deeper to the habitable zone, the dust was getting denser. There’s a thumping sound.
Rein looked around “Did you hear that?”
“Rein! above you,” Eleanor pointed.
They looked up and saw something was looking back at them with it big eyes.
“Is that? fish?” Rose stood up “It is!”
“There’s another one,” Sierra mentioned.
“We were surrounded!” Kincade shouted.
The fish swimming around them, gaping their mouth.
“I think they are harmless..” Dianna said.
“Asha! Release drones!” Rein told her.
“What are we going to do?” asked Eleanor
“Might as well record everything around here and sent it to the HQ. Cade-”
“Wait, what is that?” Rose pointing outside at the humanoid figure checking the fishes.
“It’s Garland!” Eleanor perplexed.
“Seriously.. let’s head outside too!” said Rein.
“Yay!” Dianna cheered "let's go!"
Fabian elected to stay at the bridge while they went to the hangar to donned their spacesuit before heading to the upper deck. Attaching the tether on the rail guard, they flew beside Garland, he was covered in dusts.
“Gar!” scolded Rein “Don’t go on your own without alerting the other!”
He just shrugged his shoulder and continued checking the fish. Rein sighed, he waved his hands and was propelled upwards, the dusts were rather dense, it’s like swimming inside water, this is fun.. he thought. More fishes appeared from the dust, one beside him began puffing it body like a balloon. Curious, he was about to touched it.
"Boss! don't touch that!" warned Garland over the comm "it will explode!"
Rein pulled back his hand "How do you know that?"
"It exploded when i touch it,” said Garland.
"Really?" While he laughed, he elbowed the balloon fish swimming behind him "Eh?" the fish exploded, sending him few yards away.
Rein chuckled "You alright?"
"Is the fish alright?" Eleanor asked.
"Don't worry, it just releasing the dust inside it body.." Garland pointing at the now deflated balloon fish.
Laylah pulling Kincade’s tether because he began drifting away. Rein saw several bigger fish with stones covering their bodies swimming nearby, opening their long snouts. Dianna was about to swam towards them, but Rose grabbed her shoulder.
"What if they attack us!" she yelled.
"Nah.." said Garland “I think they are filter feeder like the others..”
"Filter feeder? There are small organisms around us?”
"Yeah, the dust is rich of minerals and organic materials," he explained.
Dianna and Rose swam towards the long snout fish. Dianna giggled seeing it swirling around them and tapping it snout to their hands.
“So cute!” said Rose.
"Something big appeared on the radar!" warned Fabian “Behind you Rein!”
Rein turned and saw eight- no ten huge creatures swimming towards them, opening their big mouth. he told the others to swam back to their ship, however one of it was charging at Eleanor. Rein hurriedly swam and pushed her out of the way just in time, but he couldn't evaded. Seeing the fish in front of him, he closed his eyes, this is it.. mom.. dad.. i- however moments have passed, he opened his eyes, he's still alive. The fish just swam past him.
“You alright?” Kincade asked.
“Yeah..” Rein sighed in relief.
"Looks like they also filter feeder." said Garland.
Eleanor swam towards him and hugged him, thanking Rein for saving her. They saw the huge fish swimming in unison, leaving the area, it seemed they were one big family. Garland loudly sighed, he didn’t get time to take some pictures and examined them.
“Check it out!” Sierra motioning at the weird looking serpentine creature.
The creature wiggling it shiny transparent body, it have pairs of long tentacles on it back.
"Rein!" Fabian suddenly called him. "We just received a distress signal!"
"What? Okay," Rein told everyone to returned to their ship.
"Come on, Gar!" Rose has to pulled him back to the ship, he still wanted to stay to record more fishes.
After removing their spacesuits; Garland sighed loudly, they quickly head to the bridge.
“A distress signal?” asked Rein “From who?”
"It is a team called Shannon Rose," said Fabian “I already informed and relayed the message to the HQ.”
"Why no one come to their rescue?" Eleanor worried.
"The signal was too weak to reach the transmitter beacon," Sierra checking the comp in front of her.
“Where are they?” asked Rein.
Fabian replied “They are at nearby star system.”
“Let’s go safe them,” Rose suggested.
"How long we'll reach there?"
"About three days," said Sierra.
“What about the rescue team from HQ?” asked Eleanor.
“It will take them two months..” said Fabian.
"Okay, informed the HQ we will go there first," Rein motioned his hand “Cade! set course to their location!
"Right away!" he sat at the helms and steered their ship to the coordinate.
