Taking another four to six steps brought them to the examination bed, and right beside it stood a cabinet filled with medicines and medical tools.
Tian took five steps forward and placed his bag on the desk, then pulled out his phone and turned it on. Kihyeon was still standing at the doorway, mesmerized by the room he had always dreamed of.
“Kihyeon, aren’t you coming in?” Tian asked as he approached him. Kihyeon nodded and stepped inside, following Tian’s movements. He set down his bag and began exploring the room. His eyes sparkled as he spotted the cabinet filled with medicines, examining each item one by one with fascination.
Ting! Tian’s phone chimed with a notification. The sound broke Kihyeon’s focus, and he turned to look at Tian—only to find a sour expression on his face. Tian clicked his tongue and let out a heavy sigh.
“Kihyeon, I have to go. If any patients come or anything happens, don’t hesitate to call me, alright?” Kihyeon nodded and returned to what he was doing before.
Kring! The bell rang as the door opened. The delicious smell of bread hit Tian, making his stomach rumble with hunger.
“Ah, Tian. Come here, sit next to Dad,” called someone claiming to be his father. Tian stayed silent for five seconds before approaching the man. He sat down facing him, trying not to look directly into his eyes.
“Congratulations, Tian. Even though you were supposed to—”
“Enough. If there’s nothing else to say, I’m leaving,” Tian interrupted. He stood up and left the shop. The man grabbed his phone and called someone.
“Just send the results. If there’s any strange movement, let me know.”
