Liam's POV

Kai was laying on his belly, completely knocked out. His head rested in a small pool of blood that was seeping out of his mouth.

I felt the color drain from my face and my breathing came out in short and fast spurts as I tried to make my way towards him. My legs didn't cooperate with my brain though. I felt unsteady, so I crouched down, holding my face with a hand.

Someone hooked their arms under my armpits, lifting me up to stand on my feet before leading me to the couch and helping me to sit down.

I tried looking to my right, where Kai now was but they blocked my view by shifting their body to their left. I looked up to see beta Felix. He put his hands on my shoulders, squeezing gently.

"Don't worry, he's going to be okay." I wanted to ask how he was so sure but I didn't have the energy to open my mouth. I just tried to focus on my breathing and believe that he is going to be okay.

The alpha called one of the pack doctors and he was here within only five minutes since he just did a house visit and was close to Abigail's home.

After he checked Kai up he said everything was completely fine which made us perplexed. His mouth was dripping blood when we got here! How was he okay!?

We thanked the doctor and he left. He too, was weirded out by the situation, saying he would try and search that up, see if he finds something.

Alpha Kian carried Kai in his arms, he was so small compared to him.

I saw he was hesitating. He didn't know where his room was, and he didn't want to bother Abigail. She was sitting on the sofa with the two other betas trying to calm her down.

He could just follow his scent but I think he didn't want to wander around much. So as Kai's best friend, I jumped up and walked infront of him to show him the way to his room. He followed me, no words needed.

I opened the door and sat on the bed. The alpha laid Kai down gently and I climbed next to him, taking him in my arms, cuddling him close to me.

The alpha covered both of us in the big cozy blanket Kai owns, and ruffled my hair gently. He said a few words before leaving the room. I didn't exactly hear what he said, but I knew it was something like; 'Don't worry, it's going to be okay' or something like that. I just hoped it wasn't something like; 'You're in trouble for disobeying your alpha young man'.

I don't know. Like I said... I wasn't really listening. I was focused on sleeping Kai, he looked so defenseless when he was asleep. But not when I am around.

As long as I am here, no one and nothing can hurt him. Wanna try? You'll need to get through me first.
