Episode 1

INT. SPACE CELL — Morning?

Earl wakes up on the floor, wearing new clothes.

EARL - “What the crap…?”

He holds his head as he slowly gets up.

EARL - “Where the hell am I?”

He hears footsteps and immediately goes silent, listening. He waits, and sees a girl, a weird looking one.

EARL - “Are you even human…?”

The girl turns to look at him.

FENNECO - (emotionless) “Oh.”

FENNECO presses a button on her belt, talking into it.

FENNECO - “MH-09 has woken.”

EARL - (confused)“M.H…what?” 

(angry and kind of scared) “Hey! Where am I?”

Fenneco stays silent and keeps watch over him, not moving a muscle. 

EARL - “Hey! Answer me! I know you can talk!” (Earl grumbles..) *complain in a low voice ill apply a fade out on ur voice* 

Fenneco continues to ignore him and stares. Earl turns away while he grumbles. Time goes on...two days pass.

EARL (THOUGHTS) - Ugh, she’s still staring at me...how creepy!

Earl turns away and faces the wall when he hears a feminine voice speak on the other side to Fenneco.

DIANE - (calm) “09. Face forward. Staring at it is not the protocol.”

FENNECO - (emotionless) “Yes 01.”

Fenneco straightens herself out and immediately goes back into position, facing away from Earl. Earl looks at Fenneco and stares at her for the first time, Fenneco looks back at him and stares back at him.

EARL - (a bit cocky) “I’m pretty sure that’s against protocol.”

Fenneco freezes a bit.

FENNECO - “That...may be true.”

Earl chuckles a bit at Fenneco, and Fenneco blushes slightly—but it goes away quickly. 

FENNECO - “...Cease the noise.”

Earl freezes and tilts his head, with a small smile.

EARL - “You mean my laughing? Personally, ladies love it. Even you, I’d bet.” 

Fenneco just stares at him, emotionless and clearly unaffected.

EARL “Uh, hellooo? Jeez, aren’t you fun? You just stare at me and don’t respond...like a fish.”

Fenneco pauses and tilts her head a bit, not seeming to know what a fish is. But she stays quiet. Earl rolls his eyes and shrugs.

EARL - “Whatever...“ 

Earl turns away and falls asleep. The next time he wakes up he sees Fenneco staring at him again. 

EARL - (thoughts) Ugh...this sorry sight again... (speaking) “Hey.”

FENNECO - (quietly) “...blub.”

EARL - “...what?”

Fenneco looks off to the side, looking at something else before looking back at Earl and repeating what she said earlier.

FENNECO - (a little more confident) “Blub blub.”

Earl is absolutely confused.

EARL - (offended) “Are you...mocking me??”

Fenneco looks a bit shocked and she looks back to the side.

FENNECO - (confused) “Blub...blub?”

Earl starts to get a bit angry. 

EARL - (snappy) “it’s not my fault you’re the only person here to talk to! You think I want to talk to you?”

Fenneco freezes and her head droops a bit, nodding softly, she turns back around. Earl turns a bit around, angrily.

EARL - (thoughts) Ugh...how annoying...when...when can I go home?

Earl wakes up, annoyed at the sight of Fenneco. But then he sees Fenneco looking at something else—not him. Curious he sneaks behind her, looking through the thingy, he sees a children's book in her hands, one of animals making animal sounds. He watches as she flips the cardboard page to the goldfish, and how it says…

FENNECO - (quietly to herself) “Blub blub...“

EARL - “So that’s what you meant?”

She gets a bit shocked from his voice and she looks behind her to see his face. Earl looks at her with a skeptical look on his face.

EARL - (skeptical) “I don’t know who you think you’re fooling, there’s no way you don’t know what a fish is. Unless you’re not human, haha.”

They have a moment of silence. Earl's eyes widened.

EARL - (processing) “You...you’re not human..?”
