“Uhhh…” Well, I hope they mean hit rather than beat up.

“So uh, tell me: Did Natalie have any issues with someone else in her life?”

“Not really.” Henry chuckled a little bit. “She didn’t seem to have any problems with anyone… She’s pretty reserved though so it’s possible that if she did, she might have not told us… Although… there was something else…”

“Well, what is it?”

“Matt… Your name is Matt, right?... Nowadays I have a bit of hearing problems but… I think she may have talked about you…”

“Huh? What is it?” I raised my eyebrow just wondering what Natalie was thinking about me in the past.

“Matt… Our girl Natalie seemed to be in love with you! However, I don’t know now…”

“W-What???” 

It felt like my heart exploded before I jumped off my chair, probably looking like a total clown to this couple. I… wasn’t expecting that answer!

“Henry! Dear, don’t tell him that! We’re not supposed to do something to our daughter like that!... Plus, just look at Mr. Matt! He’s all red!”

I coughed, and coughed, trying to recover myself, As that was all I could do right now. Hell I’d swear I’d choke right now if I didn’t have important matters to attend to!

“Excuse me, you aren’t messing with me, right?” Looking at him directly in the eyes, I questioned him and Arthur began to laugh heartily in the background as I turned my head to look at him upset, before sighing VERY loudly just for him.

“Nah...  This is all for real Mr. Matt… I think we may have looked through her diary once… Just to make sure she’s not doing anything… bad…”

“What… O… Okay… Uhh…” So wait, if she was in love with me, but I never really showed feelings back at her, could that have contributed to her… depression? I… feel so stupid right now… Wait, they looked at her diary? By the gods… This is worse than I thought.

Sigh, again. “Alright, I-” And interrupting me at the worst possible moment, the door was kicked open. Michael yelled from the top of his lungs “Here’s the food!”

“Oh, hey Michael. Thank you. I’m not sure if I’m hungry right now, so could you please serve this couple over here?”. “You got it, Matt.” Michael placed a tray with sandwiches and some coffee on the table, and the couple reached to grab a sandwich each and take a bite. “Mmm… This is really good, sir… Where did you buy it?” Emma asked. “I bought it from a… Heh, a little traveling food stand that so happens to call itself ‘The World Feedersssss’... I’m glad you enjoy it.”

“Thanks… I’ll probably check it out some other day then…” She then reached to drink some of the coffee. Well, thanks to this conversation, I think I’m starting to understand Natalie a bit better, from things she wouldn’t have told me herself. I feel like I should talk to her after this…

“Hey, do you mind giving me your number?”

“Ah, sure Mr. Matt…” Emma then told me her and Henry’s phone numbers as I added them to my contacts.

“Thank you, you’ve been a great help… Really.” I smiled awkwardly.

“Aww… No problem Mr. Matt…” Emma smiled back, although genuinely and nicely compared to me.

Natalie… I’ll make sure to help you out and make you feel better. You can count on me…  I will make you feel better, and help save this world.
