Rein opening his eyes, I- I’m alive? He felt something was sticking on his back when he tried to sit, his back was hooked to a device. Looking around, Where am i? He heard footsteps and the door creaking open. A girl wearing head cloth and goggles, entered the room while carrying a transparent container filled with liquid.

Staring at him “Yus a rasta! Ebistu!” she shouted.

Another footsteps and a man also wearing similar outfit ran inside. He quickly checked on Rein.

“Karsa!” he said “Len dostu, avasa yus e suivu.”

“Kurava tavu! Thasi eversi e hara baso e, yus a martaso teta!” the girl astonished while putting the container on the corner.

The man began unstrapping something from Rein’s back. “Yus e isu warsa, yus a ortu e..”

They removed their head cloth and goggles. Both have long erected rabbit like ears on top of their heads, covered with short hairs.

“Uva e osta?” staring at Rein, her white ears wiggles.

He blinked, didn’t know what to reply.

“Carea a?” the girl eyes sparkled “Uva e to sa Karasao?”

Rein just stayed quiet.

“Ibe sa, yus te okurtaras su esta” said the man “Re yusi amatsa suri, yusi vartisu gara ta..”

“Muu..” the girl looks disappointed.

“Eso gera suri, muu? ” the man smiled at him before walking to the drawer “Ver to sa lasa ta uva!” handing him a pair of clothes “Uvae lasa thoresa..” pointing at Rein’s tattered uniforms.

“Gere ge touva re e ta,” the girl pointing at the door.

Rein nodded and they both left, closing the door behind them, leaving alone there. Rein wore his new clothes, there also a goggles and head cloth. He went to see his uniforms and found his watch. He tried contacting his friends, but there’s no signal. Sighed heavily, he strapped it on his wrist and turning on the language learner.

 

Rein left the room, walking into a kitchen with a small dining table. The man and the girl were there, eating a grilled serpentine animal.

The girl waving at him and pointing at the chair beside her “Rasa! Else usa!”

Rein slowly walked there and sat beside her. She smiled at him, slicing him a large piece of the grilled meat.

“Laru! Pici o re eso?” the man waving two pots containing blue and orange liquid.

He chose the orange liquid. The man smiled and poured the orange liquid into a mug and gave it to him. Rein took a sip, furrowing his brows, it was really bitter.

The man laughed “Uvae suro o orevasto!” before giving him the blue liquid which smells a bit more pleasant and rather sweet.

“Whose your name? Uvae ra mane e?” the girl looking at Rein.

Rein blinked confusedly.

“Uvae mane e,” pointing at him.

“Uh.. me?” he pointed at himself.

“Uhme? Susa no o mane se,” she giggled, tapping her chest “Leuria e tu,” she then pointed at the man “Yus te Ebistu.”

“Uvae mane Uhme husu o?” said Ebistu.

“Uhme?” Rein finally understood, waving his hands before tapping his chest “Rein Barret..”

Leuria’s ear wiggled “Renu? Varuta?”

“Mane e yus a..” said Ebistu.

Rein sighed and again tapping his chest “Rein..”

“Renu?” she asked “Uvae mane Renu?”

Rein nodded. The girl smiled and kept calling his name. Ebistu said something to her and she continued eating.

 

After they finished eating, Leuria waved at him and said "Rasa!”

He followed her outside, it was freezing cold. He was surprised he was in the middle of a desert. Looking up he saw a huge moon but there were no stars.

“Gura e awa terasa!” said Leuria while tying her long white hair.

Leuria took one of the empty container on the deck and carried it on her back before waving at him and pointing at the other containers. Rein lifted it and followed her disembarking from the vehicle.

“Elve oste!” the girl pointed at the small oasis. There’s a device there.

They hooked the container on the device and it slowly filled it with the water from the oasis. He secretly scanned it with his watch, it’s just a normal water. While waiting, Leuria said something to him before motioning her hands while pointing at him and the oasis. It seems like she was telling him they found him there. He wanted to say thank you, but chose to remained quiet and only smiled. After filling up all the containers, they returned to the vehicle.

“Ebistu!” she called “Vesa oru dostu..”

“Muu, Goro o ta!” he replied.

Rein followed them to the helm at top deck. Ebistu began steering their vehicle, leaving the oasis.

“Tara sa uma ta so..” said Leuria, looking back at the oasis.

“Koru oso..” Ebistu murmured “Es este.. Leuria, goso a to surata.”

“Muu..” she said.

Grabbing Rein’s hand and they went back inside. She brought him to a small room beside the engine room. She said something while motioning her hands before leaving and returned with a mattress.

"Sureso mosu!" she said before closing the door.

 

The door barged open, surprising him.

"Mura mura ta usa!” Leuria said cheerfuly.

She showed him the bathroom and left spare clothes for him.

“Dinasa ese te sora!” she smiled and closed the door.

Rein sighed, he looked at his watch, he only slept for four hours. After having a really hot shower, he heard Leuria was calling for him.

"Rasa!" she waved as he entered the kitchen, pointing at the seat beside her.

"Mura mura Renu," said Ebistu.

They ate the same grilled serpentine creature before heading to the helm to continued their journey. On the way, he spotted something on the horizon, it's like a building. What is that? he wondered.

“Leuria..” he called her, pointing at the building.

“Ma oso rui na tabu..” said Leuria.

“Vesa ude te tabu asa..” added Ebistu.

A loud alarm coming from the dashboard. Ebistu and Leuria quickly donned their head cloth and their goggles. Leuria was shocked seeing Rein just stood dumbfounded there. She wrapped his head with the cloth and put on his goggles, just in time for a huge sandstorm began engulfing the whole area.

"Renu!" shouted Ebistu "Uva o raisu!"

 

The sandstorm lasted until they arrived on their destination. The place was like several vehicles connected together forming a island of steel, surrounding a huge vehicle on the middle. Ebistu docked their vehicle at the docking bay. Before he lowered the ramp, he motioned at Rein and pointing at the head cloth, it seemed he was telling him not to removed it. Several fully armored people carrying a pole boarded their vehicle.

“Parnitsa!” shouted the armored people, waving their pole.

Ebistu showed them a device. After checking it and spotted the stack water containers, they talked to Ebistu and grabbed several containers. Leuria was about to protested but Ebistu grabbed her hand, said something to her as the armored people left with their containers.

“Aursho!” she yelled.

“Vruss!” Ebistu said “Gura e doto sata evesto..”

Ebistu sighed. He waved at Rein to get the trolley at corner before stacking the remaining containers on it.

“Vesa mataso o tamu,” said Ebistu to Rein "Suta oste muu?”

Leuria added “Vesa ostu o rosu Renu..”

“I ite seire?” asked Ebistu.

Rein just nodded.

“Yus a seso oto,” said Leuria.

They both left the vehicle while pushing the trolley. Rein checked his watch, the translation was still zero progress and no signal found. He decided to stroll around hoping to hasten the language learning. He left the dock, sneaking past the armored people and went looking for a crowded area.

 

“This place is shabby..” he murmured.

Everyone wore ragged clothes with a head cloth and goggles on their neck. Merchants mostly sold scrap metal, he noticed there were also parts from robots like limbs or head. Food kiosk selling the same grilled serpentine animal or boiled egg thingy. Bunch of children begging for food distrating the kiosk owner while the other stole few boiled eggs. Drunk people roamed around, drinking green liquid.

“Mata mu aursho!” shouted a man

“Uva mata mu!” the other yelled

Both started a fist fight on the street. The armored people began gathering to stopped the fight, using excessive force and capturing even the bystander. Rein quickly fled and went to other location. He looked around, the place was rather quite, people there were staring at him.

“Maybe i should head back..” he sighed.

“Uva!” yelled someone.

Rein turned his head, a group of people was surrounding him. He raised his hands, hoping they leave him alone.

“I se uva sumotiso laru!” he smirking at him.

“Saranvi loka,” said the other.

“Ibe su laru!”

Rein kept waving his hands and slowly walking backwards.

“Uva e oto? purau?” one of them snide.

“Uva osu o moso uva o hu?” they said.

“Yus e laru ebe diosa!”

“Iusa, kurakura sa!” one of them grabbed Rein’s hand, attempting to ripped off hiswatch.

Realizing they were a group of criminals, he decided to defended himself. Rein swiftly beaten most them, they are not that strong he thought. The ruckus attracted some crowds.

“Uva o urue!” shouted one of them, taking out a knife from his clothes, brandishing it at him “Da!” charging and aiming at his gut.

Rein evaded the knife and used the technique taught by Kincade. Grabbing the man’s shirt and threw him to ground. The crowds cheered for him, shouting something which alarmed the armored people. Rein hid among the crowds.

 

Arriving at another block “Where am i?” he muttered. Looking around, noticing the tall tower nearby. Rein went to the tower. A chimney? He climbed the ladder while avoided being seen by the locals.

From the top, he could see the whole island and spotted the dock. Before he could climbed down, he heard a ping sound coming from his watch, there's signal. He quickly contacting his ship

“Is anyone there?” he repeated few more times, but no one answered. He was about to given up when he heard someone calling.

“R- in?”

He was relieved “Eleanor? is that you?”

“Rein! It’s- R-in!” she replied “wh- are- u?”

“Eleanor? can you hear me? I have no idea where i am now, but-”

“I- hea-, the sig-” she replied “you- oice- break-”

“Sier- can- yo-” said Rose.

“it- Impo-” said Sierra “we- coul- ev-”

“Rei- Fab- Kinc- an- land- they-” Eleanor said something.

The signal was lost. Rein shook his head “At least the other are fine..” he murmured. Climbing down the chimney, he wondered what Eleanor wanted to say. On the way to the dock, he checked his watch, the language translation was almost done, That’s fast? he thought.
