OUTSIDE - Planet Cutost

Fenneco, Bennie and Dan walk together on the planet Cutost. Dan is still lagging behind with the armour.

DAN : “Why..hah..why am I still wearing this..?” (The armour is very heavy)

FENNECO : “We do not have enough time to head back to Bennie’s room and come back.”

DAN : “Oh, how convenient—” (Cut off)

Fenneco holds out her arm to stop them all, Bennie and Dan bump into her arm and go to a stop. In front of them, they see Candy. 

DAN : “Wow, you’re short.”

CANDY : “heh, you’re tall!”

Candy just smiles? and Fenneco bends down on a knee. 

FENNECO : “I am sorry about him, but greetings. Have you seen anyone roaming around?”

CANDY : “Other than your leader..nope!”

FENNECO : “Ah, I see..”

CANDY : “But..I can bring you to Mexico!”

BENNIE : “Uh, but isn’t Mexico on Earth?”

Candy looks really confused.

CANDY : “No..? Mexico’s in our village! He usually knows everything.”

FENNECO : “Then we would appreciate that. Thank you.”

Candy joyfully jumps up and down.

CANDY : “Then just follow me!”

They follow Candy, Fenneco staring right ahead, Bennie entranced by his surroundings, and Dan intrigued by Candy.

DAN : “So..like, are those sticks shoved in you?”

CANDY : (Laughs) What the heck are you talking about?”

Candy lifts up her arm.

CANDY : “You mean my arm? I guess yeah!”

DAN : “And..that didn’t hurt you or nothing?”

CANDY : “And why would my arms do that?”

DAN : “Because..you know..you’re..getting stabbed?”

CANDY : “Huh? What do you mean?”

DAN : “Like y’know..!”

BENNIE : “Dan, you might be being too weird—”

CANDY : “How else would we walk? It’s not like our family tree gives them to us.”

BENNIE : “Family..tree..?”

Candy nods and turns to look ahead.

CANDY : “There’s one right there!”

She points ahead and they can see a pod from a tree slowly sag down, it opens, and gently plops a cucumber thing on the floor, then, a cucumber family comes out, picking off a stamp leaf and wrapping it around the cucumber as clothes. Then, they impale the cucumber with the sticks and they joyfully walk back inside the building.

BENNIE : “T-that..looks horrifying.” 

CANDY : (Laughs) “You’re a lot more emotional than the rest of your kind!”

The two freeze up a little and keep walking.

CANDY : “Oh—I didn’t mean anything bad by it! I just thought it was funny!”

FENNECO : “It is fine. Are we close to this Mexico?”

CANDY : “Ah! Yes! Right around here!”

They loop around the tree and they find a door, Candy happily knocks on it with her arm. 

CANDY : “Mexico! Candy here!” 

MEXICO : “Candy? I’m coming!” (Opens the door) “What can I do for you today?”

CANDY : “These people are looking for their friend! Have you any wisdom to share?”

Mexico looks up at Fenneco, Bennie and Dan.

FENNECO : “Yes. He is dressed like us. But, without a hat.”

Mexico thinks to himself.

MEXICO : “Hmmmm..haven’t seen him!” (Pauses) “but I can certainly help! I know this town like the back of my hand!”

CANDY : “Yay!” (She turns to Fenneco) “With Mexico helping us, we’ll be sure to find your friend!”

FENNECO : “Ah, thank you.”

They all travel together, and they can hear whispering. Mexico taps someone in the crowd’s shoulder.

MEXICO : “Cambridge?”

CAMBRIDGE : (Relieved) “Mexico! There you are!”

MEXICO : “What’s all the ruckus here?”

CAMBRIDGE : (Nervous and a bit scared) “W-well..Mexico..it’s awake.”
