I stood there puzzled for a while not knowing what to do and if I should return back home to prepare for school since Ethan's threat just wouldn't leave my mind.
That boy is a weirdo, and I don't think I'm in the mood to face him today at school. I only slapped him and got severely punished. What's going to happen now that what I did to him yesterday was worse?
I don't think I'm going to risk going to school today since I don't know what that boy going to do to me. I'll stay today and find another excuse for tomorrow. But what about lectures? Would I have to skip lectures because of Ethan?
Whatever it is, I'll know what to do when I get back home.
I had to board a taxi home using my last money. On arriving, I came inside and found my mother and Mr Francis standing right in the living room. With the look on their face, I could tell they were apprehensive. Not they, Mr Francis, I know my mother is pretending. If something really happened to me, I know she wouldn't even be bothered about it.
It obvious, she's only pretending to be worried because Mr Francis is.
"Aria, where have you been?" he asked curiously. I looked down at my outfit - it clearly screamed "jogging" - so why was he even asking? I knew I'd spent a lot of time doing it, but he wasn't supposed to question my whereabouts.
Especially when his son is the reason why I decided to go jogging. I only go jogging on weekends but I had to do it today since a lot has been going through my head.
"I went jogging," I replied casually.
"But you don't use to go for jogging on a normal day except weekends." My mother said. Oh so she still remember that? Well today's own happens to be an emergency nothing more.
"I suddenly decided to go today, " I told her.
"And you know very well that there's school today?" She asked me.
Did she just said that I know very well that there's school today? I thought she told me some days ago that being an housewife suits me well? Valentina is a bit frustrated and I know she is.
"Yeah yeah, I know very well that today is school and that's part of the reason why I'd to make it short." I told her.
"You made it short?" she screamed at me. She was always acting like a bulldog, and it was no longer my concern. She could shout till eternity, and I didn't care. "Check the time on your phone!" she ordered.
Goddamnit!
Can't all this people let me be? I'm thinking on how to face Ethan and here my mother is, making things worst for me.
"But it's..."
"I say, check the goddamn time now!" She cut me off guard.
"Valenti..." Mr. Francis hadn't even finished calling her name when she snapped, "Please, Francis, don't interfere. Aria isn't a kid anymore, and I won't watch her continue to act like one."
"But you need to stop being too harsh on her!" He told her raising his voice.
"That's how she wants it.." she said.
"Come on honey try to be understanding sometimes. She's your daughter and you're supposed to understand her better." He told her.
"It not too neccesary." She scuffed.
How did Valentina even gave birth to me?
I pulled out my phone from my pocket and it's 9 o'clock.
"The time is 9 o'clock," I told her folding my hands around my chest.
"So you now fold your hands while talking to me?" She questions.
"Mom c'mon! Can't all of you allow me have some peace of mind?" I asked her.
" Don't you have a little respect on me?" She asked me.
Then I sighed. " Can't you show even if it's a little concern sometimes? What kind of mom are you?" I screamed.
Then she turned to Mr Francis, "hope you're seeing what I'm telling you?"
"Calm down," he told her softly.
"I went for exercise, isn't that enough reasons for you to let me be?" I asked her.
"You're obviously doing the right thing at the wrong time. " She told me.
" Seriously?" I asked her.
"Ethan has been waiting for you," she told me then I burst out laughing.
So she thinks Ethan was really waiting for me for something good? When did he became that nice?
I know Ethan would be waiting for me by now to punish me like he did yesterday and this is obviously the reason why I have to come up with a plan. But what am I going to do to him?
I headed into my room, took off my clothes and was about entering the bathroom when my phone ring. It's Abby.
"Hello Abby,"
"Where are you?" She asked me. I can imagine seeing her curious face.
"I'm about taking a shower now," I told her.
"Wait a minute, you haven't taking your shower since?" She asked me.
"I went for jogging.." I told her.
"Ain't you gonna come to school today?" She asked me.
" Hmm..."
"Mr. Lang is already in class. He hates latecomers, so what are you going to do about it?" she asked me. I felt scared. Could it be that I had to face this so-called Mr. Lang and Ethan? Who was Mr. Lang, anyway?
"Who's Mr Lang?" I asked her.
"Someone you shouldn't even have a problem with in real life," she told me. "Let alone in a dream."
Good lord, please help me!
" Alright then, I'll find a way to get there soon.." I told her.
" Alright, please I wanted to also introduce you to my friend Ashley." She told me.
" Okay," I said and ended the call.
I hurried into the bathroom, took a quick shower, and got dressed as soon as I was done. Then, I collected my bag and left the house.
I'm not supposed to skip lectures because of Ethan but then, my mother has mentioned that Ethan was waiting for me. Could it also be that he had changed his mind? I think he has forgiven me.
Just as I came outside the gate, a text message got into my phone.
You better don't skip school today. I'm fucking waiting for you, bitch! __ the text reads. I guess it's a message from Ethan.
