I nod at him and turn to the portal that separates our world from the human world. "By the way Callum make sure this portal doesn't open again until its time that I come back."
"Yes, your highness," Callum replies. I step into the portal and feel it closing behind me as I step into the human world and closes the portal after me. I transform into my human form. Checking my clothes look like work clothes, I quickly made my way to those firms who were hiring new recruits.
I got myself an interview at a nearby company. Thankfully I did invest in having a house in this realm too. So I do have a roof over my head. Now it is more about landing a job and getting work to help the economy back home. I finally got my turn in the interviews and passing the checkpoints with flying colours. A few days later while waiting for results I was doing a street performance to get a little funds. I actually love performing on the streets but found it more as a side hustle.
There's actually a lot of things I enjoy doing and became a pro at them but at the end of the day, I love doing each of them for charity events or recreationally. Like snowboarding, skateboarding, volleyball, beach volleyball and figure skating. Just expressing myself when I get to do them is so fun and I feel free. Anyways after my busking experience I go home to quickly change and go to the office for the results. I fidget a little while waiting. After all, who wouldn't get nervous? Right...? Welp no going back now.
"Sunha, your turn," says one of the interviewers. I get up and follow them into the room. I am shocked that the boss, Elijah Whitecore, is sitting with them. Did I forget to properly check what position I applied for?
"Sunha, you have a very interesting CV with interesting experiences. Nevertheless you have been chosen to be Mr Whitecore's personal secretary," says the female interviewer. Did I just hear her correctly? I got the job? I actually did it!!
"Thank you very much for this opportunity," I say while bowing.
"I expect hard work from you," says Mr Whitecore. Was I thinking this man was arrogant? Hard work? Excuse him he doesn't know how much I sacrificed just so I could be here. To help my people out a bit. Plus that reminds me... I should schedule a meeting with the mayor later on.
"Yes sir," I reply and immediately gets located to my desk and works hard completing all handed projects with much efficiency and lots of quality. I also manage to land some big beneficial deals for the company.
"Remember not to overwork yourself, Sunha. I expect greater things from you," says Mr Whitecore.
"Don't worry sir, everything is under control. Plus now I am off to my lunch break," I say as I finish automating the process and he gets buried down in all the projects I have completed.
