"I um, was at work".she replied sounding guilty "Oh were you now?" asked Sam "Yes, I was" said the mother "Oh really? You weren't just out partying with your friends while dad was DYING?" "Don't you raise your - " he cut her off "NO" said Sam "YOU WERE OUT PARTYING WITH YOUR FRIENDS WHILE DAD WAS DYING IN THE HOSPITAL!" "HE HAD TO DIE ALONE BECAUSE YOU WERE OUT HAVING THE TIME OF YOU LIFE!" yelled Sam so the whole waiting room could hear him "I was not!" said the mom getting defensive "Yes you were mom, I know you" said Sam, disappointed in his mother "Whatever Sam, let's just go home already". Sam got up and followed his mother out of the hospital. The next day Sam went to school because his mom didn't care if you're "sad" "It's not a reason to miss school". He walked up to Aiden, barely holding it together "Hey Sam, how are you doing?" "Terrible" replied Sam "What happened dude? Are you ok?" asked Aiden genuinely worried "My dad died yesterday" "Sam I am so sorry, poor Vincent. Are you doing okay? How's your mother doing about it?" "She is a friggin horrible wife to my dad and I hope she will burn in, well you know where" "Okay then, I take it she didn't show up, again" "Yup, anyways we should head to class". After class as they were talking, a girl walked up to them. "Um, excuse me?" asked the girl. Sam and Aiden both turned to face her. "Yeah?" asked Sam "Could I be friends with you guys?" "Um..." Aiden turned to Sam "Should we?" he asked "I mean sure why not?" replied Sam. Aiden turned back to the girl. "Sure" he said "Thanks" said the girl "Oh and by the way my name's Madison" "Well it's nice to meet you Madison, my name is Aiden" "And I'm Sam" Well it's nice to meet you guys" "So what's your favorite animal?". The conversation was started, when it ended they had to go home "Bye! See you tomorrow" said Madison as she walked in the opposite direction from them. The next day after school, (a Friday) Sam was walking home in a black hoodie, when a little kid came up to him and asked"Are you black?" "What, no I'm not" "You're boring" said the kid as they walked away.
