Next day at office, Shin sits on his desk with a storm in his mind. "What will he think of me?" "What about my reputation?" "What if he thinks of me as a creep?" "It's not even his fault" Multiple questions keep popping in his head when a knock distracts him. "May I come in sir?" Soul asks him in his usual manner of speech. OH! Shin exclaims, "Y-yes!"
Soul, with a pile of paper in his hands, comes closer to Shin's desk while Shin keeps his quite, straightening his back and leaning on the table with his both hands.
"From today I'm taking over Mr. Yang. According to your schedule, you have a meeting today. I'm done here so I'll get going?"
"Huh! Where?"
"There..." Soul points towards the door "...outside."
Shin lets out a little laugh, "Oh so my professional secretary doesn't know that he has to keep my company for all day."
"What?!"
"Never mind. I'll ask someone to shift your workstation here. You can go now."
Soul seems to fall from the sky. Without any hesitation he says, "Okay I'm doomed. Ok Mr. Shin, I'm leaving." He acts like running away, making him look like a kitten who has been scolded for being a mischief.
As Soul leaves, Shin breaks his character by falling on the backrest of his chair. He lets out a soft breath as he speaks to himself, "Why does he talk too much? Ahh! This kid!" He suddenly jumps up, "Wait! So he doesn't remember anything about last night." Again falling on the backrest, "Ohh! I'm saved."
Later at the parking area, Soul stands there waiting for his CEO while he scrolls his mobile. "Soul!" Shin comes to the place and throws his car key from a distance. Soul struggles to catch it with a questionable face. Shin straight up goes to his car, passing Soul, and saying, "Let's go."
Soul was dumbfound, asking, "Where?"
"To the meeting."
"Sure but-"
Shin now faces towards Soul, "Wait, don't tell me you can't drive."
"Sorry but I can't."
Shin smirks while laughing sarcastically, "What can I even expect from a Kid? This is your first day and I already get to know a flaw." He lets out a sigh, "Let me drive. And go sit at the front. I don't want to look like your driver." He genuinely looked evil while saying all this.
Soul hands the key to Shin without uttering a word and takes his seat. The entire ride was silent. Well, that's what expected but somehow it doesn't match Soul's personality than even his baby pink blush can't make him soulful enough. Shin notices this with the corner of his eyes yet doesn't say anything. The meeting goes on with this weather. Shin should be okay with this but somewhere it bothers him. However he can let it slide for the sake of the meeting.
After the meeting ends, both gets in Shin's car. The weather remains the same, the air feels heavy despite the chilling air conditioner. So Shin decides to break the silence.
"Mr. Kim! I'm not kicking you for not knowing how to drive. You don't need to shut your mouth."
"I'm sorry sir." He says as he lowers his head.
"Enough apologies. It's past 10. Tell me where you live. I'll drop you."
Now Soul looks up. "No sir! I'm good. I'll take the bus-"
"I asked where you live." Shin speaks with his eyes still on the road.
There is a small pause which makes Shin think, "Am I too rude? Did I make him upset?" This thoughts get interrupted when Soul speaks up with a honey sweet voice, "Mr. Shin, I live far from here. You don't need to go all the way along."
"Just consider this as my kindness." Shin now looks at Soul, "Now put your address in the GPS."
Soul gives up and does so. The ride was so comfortable making the heavyhearted Soul fall asleep, unnoticed by Shin. Soon Shin reaches his new destination and finds out Soul sleeping sound. His bangs covering his eyes, eyelashes decorating his beautifully closed eyes, cheeks looking soft like cheesecakes. Shin takes a moment to appreciate the view before waking him up.
"Soul!" this time with a sincere voice, "We're at your place." Shin gives Soul enough time to process the situation as he slowly wakes up. "I'm so sorry. I was just tired-"
"Did I say anything?" Shin, looking at the apartment ahead, "Well, do you live alone?"
"No I live with my cat," as Soul answers, he makes a pout face.
Shin gets hit by a sudden cute aggression so he looks away mumbling, "Childish!"
Before getting out of the car, Soul speaks, his voice calm and soft, "Well, thanks for dropping me home." As he says, he gets out of the car without looking back at his CEO.
"Cute" as Shin says, a smile curves on his face but later fades away with a realization, "Wait! He's my secretary. I don't need to compliment him!"
