Ravyn was at home, chilling and reading a book while Yuno was in the bathroom cleaning.
Yuno was scrubbing the entire shower with some stronger cleaning agents to kill the mold that had started to appear due to the moisture, making a mental note to call someone later to take a deeper look at it, just in case it was part of a bigger issue.
While cleaning out the cabinets, Yuno noticed that the part of the sink attached to the wall seemed loose.
Yuno: “Hmm, why is that so loose? That’s weird, it shouldn’t be this loose.”
Yuno tried to move the side and discovered it was actually a false wall! She opened it to find… a stash of alcohol???
Yuno: “What the?? Why do we have alcohol under the sink…?”
Ravyn giggled a little as she was at a funny part in the book she was reading.
Yuno: “Please don’t tell me…”
Yuno stepped out of the room to ask Ravyn about the stash.
Yuno: “Short stack, you have some explaining to do!”
Ravyn: “Hmm? Why would I need to explain things? I don’t know what you’re even talking about, Yuno.”
She just leaned her head over the armrest of the sofa to look at Yuno.
Yuno: “Why do we have an alcohol stash under the fucking sink?! Have you been drinking??”
Ravyn’s expression changed to one of panic, and she started stammering.
“I… I have no idea what you’re talking about!!”
Yuno: “You do know what I’m talking about. Your expression tells me I caught you in something! Ravyn, what’s going on??”
Ravyn: “OH, WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON?!”
Yuno: “Ravyn, if it’s about the situation with Alberto sexually assaulting you, then please there are better ways to cope than drowning in alcohol.”
Ravyn: “I don’t fucking care! You don’t know how it feels to be used as someone’s plaything all the time! I can’t even say anything or I’ll just get thrown out!! And that would mean execution! AND YOU KNOW THAT VERY WELL, YUNO!”
Yuno: “Ravyn, I care about your well being. I know what’s going on is painful and awful, and I wish I could do more to stop it… but I can’t right now. They wouldn’t believe me either—Alberto made sure of that!!”
Ravyn: “Tch. I’m going out! This conversation is over!”
Ravyn glitched out of the room, leaving Yuno standing there.
Yuno: “…Sigh… Maybe I can get the Holy Quartet members on board to try helping Ravyn… Well, except Alberto, but… Nexus, Ravyn, you’re only making it worse for yourself…”
Yuno walked to the main rooms where the Holy Quartet operated, hoping Alberto wasn’t there—she didn’t know what she’d do if she saw him.
She knocked on the door and Athi opened it.
Athi: “Yuno? Sigh, what do you want?”
Yuno: “Is Alberto there?”
Athi: “No, he’s not.”
Yuno: “Good. Are the others here?”
Athi: “Silver, Yito, Xara, and Mimi are here.”
Yuno: “Okay. This is important it’s about Ravyn.”
Athi: “Come in.”
She opened the door fully to let Yuno in.
Yuno entered the room. The others turned to look at her.
Silver: “What is it, Yuno? You said it’s about my sister?”
Yuno: “Sigh… Has Ravyn been acting weird lately?”
Mimi: “A little more impulsive for sure, and she sometimes seems distracted.”
Yuno’s expression remained unchanged, but her body tensed.
“I decided to clean the bathroom today and found a hidden alcohol stash under the sink behind a false wall. Ravyn has a drinking problem.”
Silver: “What… But why?”
Silver’s concern was obvious.
Yuno: “I have no idea. Maybe the stress… My gut tells me it’s because being a part of this team is the only thing keeping her alive, and that pressure is eating her alive.”
Yito: “Shit… We need to help her. That’s not going to end well in the long run.”
Yuno: “Also, I don’t know where she is right now. We fought about it, and she teleported away.”
Silver: “…If she has a drinking problem… maybe she went to the local bar.”
Yuno: “Could be. I’m going to check if I can find her.”
Mimi: “We should hide the alcohol.”
Yuno: “Not a good idea. If she hid that stash, she’ll just hide another one.”
Mimi: “Okay, good point.”
Silver: “Also, she would just go to the bar. And besides, withdrawal could kill her—we have no idea how long she’s been doing this!”
Yuno: “I’ll see if I can find him at the local bar.”
Yuno: “Thank you for listening to my concerns, though.”
Yuno walked out the door and passed Alberto in the hallway. She gave him a death stare, balling her paw into a fist, trying not to punch him right then and there.
She made her way to the bar, showed her ID to the bodyguard, and was let in. She scanned the place and spotted Ravyn sitting at the bar, clearly drinking.
Yuno: “Hey, Ravyn.”
Ravyn: “What do you want, Yuno? To ask me again to stop this? Because I won’t.”
Yuno: “I… had a feeling you’d say that. Listen, I told the others. They know about your drinking problem.”
Ravyn: “Great. Even more people to berate me about it.”
She took a sip of her cocktail.
Yuno: “I know I can’t stop you. What I want you to know is that I’m worried, and even if it takes a while to make you stop, I’ll support you. No matter how long it takes, I’ll try to help.”
Ravyn: “Whatever.”
Yuno: “I’m staying here until you go home.”
Ravyn just looked at Yuno, clearly pissed.
Yuno: “Be as pissed as you want. I won’t stop.”
Ravyn: “Yeah, sure.”
Yuno: “What even are you drinking?”
Ravyn: “Energy cocktail.”
She pointed to the menu.
“It’s made with vodka and syrup. Very tasty, actually. Wanna try?”
Knowing she couldn’t stop Ravyn from drinking right now, Yuno decided to make her feel more comfortable instead.
Yuno: “Sure, let me try.”
Ravyn handed her the glass, and Yuno took a sip.
Yuno: “Oh wow! This is actually pretty good. What syrup is this?”
Ravyn: “I chose peach syrup this time. I usually go with strawberry.”
Yuno: “Huh.”
She handed the glass back and went to get her own cocktail.
“Gonna get one myself. And after that, we go home, okay?”
Ravyn: “Okay.”
They sat there drinking their cocktails until they finished, then headed home. They decided to nap on the couch together, with Ravyn sleeping on top of Yuno, smiling a little.
Maybe… this wasn’t so bad after all.
