Chapter 9
Samuel and Jackson ran back to the Study to get away before the controllers saw them. When they got back Mohan was walking toward them.
“I told you, come on.” Mohan started walking toward the entrance, Samuel and Jackson ran toward it.
Samuel and Jackson ran to the lawn, “We have to tell the teachers.”
“No, we have to tell Sylvan first. They are in the school and we don't know who we can trust.” Jackson said, he was right. If the controllers have been in the school this whole time, who knows they might even be their teachers.
“We have to get everyone, come on.” Samuel realized he still had the book in his hands, but it didn’t matter if that spell they had would do what they wanted it to do.
Samuel and Jackson ran into their room to hopefully find Charles and Eric, when they did only Charles was there.
Charles looked up, “Can a guy have a little piece and quiet around here?”
Jackson held him by the shoulders, “Not when an entire cult is right under your feet!”
Maybe that was a bit too much, Samuel stepped in. “We found the Controllers, they’re in a secret library under the school. They're trying to use knight magic to do something, but I don't know what yet.”
Charles looked at Samuel, “Wait really? Here?”
“Yes and we need your help!” Jackson said.
Charles got up, “Ok, first we tell everyone else Eric, Carlene, Sylvan. Then we tell the school, and the counsel of Marshlake.”
“The counsel of Marshlake? I read about them, they’re all the oldest and wisest wizards alive!” Samuel said,
Charles nodded, “Yes, they have the power to shut them down.”
Jackson shook him again, “Well obviously not!”
Samuel pulled Jackson away, “Jackson’s right, they're planning to do something big. Bigger than the counsel. If we’re going to stop them, we need everyone.”
Charles nodded understandably, “Fine, I’ll go get Eric and Carlene. You two get Sylvan, he’s in the museum.”
“Why don't we meet in the museum, keep everyone who knows together.” Samuel suggested.
Charles thought for a second, but nodded. Jackson also nodded.
“Come on, let's stop a cult.”
It had only been almost a month, and Samuel and Jackson were running out of time in Marshlake. If they were going to take a stand against the controllers it had to be now.
After they got everyone to the museum, Samuel and Jackson began to explain.
“First of all, good to be together after so long.” Samuel said,
Carlene was the first to respond, “Ya, where have you guys been?”
“Underground learning new magic.” Jackson responded.
Carlene laughed, but saw how everyone was looking at her “Wait, you're serious?”
Samuel continued, “As you all know, I've been learning new magic in an underground study. Me and Jackson were looking for an answer for my new magical powers, but found the controllers as we did so. We only got you all together, because you're the only ones we can trust.”
Eric looked at him, “Charles said they were doing something, so?”
Samuel nodded, “Yes they're planning on using knight’s magic to cast some kind of ancient ritual. They have to get to me before they do though.”
“So what’s the problem? They’re just messing with some magic they can’t do.” Sylvan said.
Samuel rolled his eyes, “Well whatever it is they want it can't be good, we have to find out what.” Samuel looked at the book he’d grabbed from the secret library. “I think we can use this.” Samuel opened the book on a table that was in the middle of the museum, “Whatever they were trying to do has to do with Knight’s Magic. This book is a spell book for knight’s magic I guess.” Samuel opened to a random page that read, Runes. Then flipped the page to a page that read rituals, and found a strange one.
“So what do we do? Fight the controllers again? Even on our own ground we’d be outmatched.” Eric continued.
Sylvan shook his head, “We should alert the counsel, they’d know what to do.”
“No, that would take too long.” Jackson said,
As they were arguing Samuel studied the page to find a terrible truth. “Guys, I found the spell they are trying to cast.” They all came over to the book and gasped.
Carlene looked at Jackson, “Did it really look like that?”
Jackson nodded, “Exactly like it.”
Samuel inspected the page, it was the summoning of HIM. That’s what they were trying to do, summon HIM.
Samuel shook his head, “We have to stop this.”
Eric looked at him, “How?”
Samuel thought for a second and realized something, “Guys, they aren’t even able to cast the spell.” They all looked at him for more information, “They need knight’s magic, which hasn’t existed until me.”
Carlene gasped, “That’s why they came here, they knew you’d be here.”
Samuel shook his head, “I’m so sorry, I should never have come here.”
Eric grabbed his shoulder, “No, this is where you belong. All we have to do is stop them from gaining your power, or blood or whatever and we’re fine right?”
Samuel looked back at him, “They probably have a whole army down there, how are we going to go against that?”
Carlene looked at Samuel, “We will.”
Suddenly there was a large siren sound coming from the school, everyone looked at each other in horror.
