Chapter 10

They all went running into the school to see people running away from the lawn, Samuel stopped one of the first years.

“What’s happening?” Samuel asked,

“The controllers they’re in the lawn, they have beasts doing their being. You have to run!” The first year ran with the crowd.

Samuel looked at everyone else, “Last chance to back out.”

Everyone pulled out either a wand, staff, or weapon.

It seemed like they were all in agreement, “Alright, let’s beat up some bad guys.”

They all ran into the lawn to see three giant Mole Horns, all wearing controller devices.

Samuel looked back at everyone, “They all have devices on, get them off them and they go back to being normal beasts.” Everyone nodded and they all ran into the lawn.

Before Samuel could continue the book he didn’t even realize he brought it with him, opened, and showed him a page. It was on mana adding. “Can you give this to me?” Samuel asked, the book showed him a page on how to gain mana pulling on the void for more mana.

‘Yes…” A faint voice said,

With no time to figure that out Samuel focused hard on the void, nothingness. A rift was created, and moved toward him. Samuel was pulled toward it, now being a part of this new world. He felt the power of the void go into him and he felt his mana restoring. Before the void fully consumed him he felt the power of the elements enter him. It was time to destroy the controllers.

Samuel walked into the lawn and his friends were on the brink of it waiting for him.

Eric looked at him, “What did you just do?”

Samuel looked at his hand, “Got a bit of a power boost, I am connected to the void and the void is connected to me.”

“What?” Eric asked,

“You’ll see.” Samuel said. He walked into the field to the beasts, and saw that a bunch of controllers were behind them. “Ready for round two controllers?” They all backed up a bit. “Don't worry all my magic from last time is gone.” They all began to advance along with their creatures. “I’ve just got something new for you.” Samuel ran at the first Mole horn at rapid speeds, and shot a Lightning Zap at them. They screeched in anger, and tried to smack him. Samuel dodged and shot a fire bolt at them. Samuel boosted back and prepared to fight the next mole horn, but his friends were already going in. Sylvan and Carlene were handling one of the mole horns, and Eric and Charles were handling another. Jackson came to his side and prepared to fight.

“So, what was their plan again?” Jackson asked,

“Well, I don't really know. They need me for something, and we can't let them take the  school, so here we are.” Samuel said.

Jackson nodded and put his gauntlet on, “Well, let’s do this.”

Jackson ran straight at it, Samuel was surprised but ran with him. Jackson shot an arrow at the neck of the beast, and made the creature roar. Samuel ran toward it and shot a star blast at the beast. The beast stepped back, giving Samuel a chance to cast a stone pillar on its foot. The beast fell to the ground, and seemed to try and get back up. Before it could, Samuel made another stone pillar to stop it. One down, and two to go. Samuel looked over at Eric and Charles to see their Molehorn fall to the ground, Samuel sent a fire bolt at the creature and used his fire manipulation spell to destroy the collar. Eric turned to Samuel, and yelled at him.

“Hey, deal with your own Molehorn!” Eric yelled.

Samuel shrugged at him and ran toward the controllers, but looked back to see the third Molehorn about to stomp Sylvan. Samuel boosted into Sylvan pushing him out of the way, and teleporting away to run at the controllers again. Once he saw the controllers running at him, he saw there were only about 15 of them. He stopped and cast his forest spell around them, creating a wall of trees to stop them from leaving. Samuel caught up with Jackson, and stared at the Controllers seeing fear in their eyes.

He leaned over to Jackson, “They’re scared of us.”

“Ya, it’s kind of cool.” Jackson said, Samuel nodded.

“Hey controllers, what do you want?” Samuel yelled at them.

One of them came in front of all the others, he wore a captain's uniform. “We only wish to control everything, for a balance. This new magic of yours is an imbalance.”

Jackson sighed, “That’s all you guys say, do you have anything new?”

The Controllers moved closer to them, and drew their weapons.

Samuel boosted himself to them, and cast lightning zap at the closest one. Samuel summoned his fire sword, and swiped at the soldiers feet. Doing major damage, and knocking them off balance. Jackson ran into the crowd and attacked the first one with his combat knife, doing a good amount of damage to him.

Samuel turned to Jackson “Here.” Samuel passed Jackson his longsword, super dangerous, but super cool.

Jackson smiled, and swiped at the same soldier he had a second ago. This time hitting him back and knocking him out. “Thanks!” Jackson yelled back at Samuel.

Samuel used lightning zap on one controller and fore bolt on another. One fell to the floor, but got up and another came right back at Samuel. Samuel dodged, and cast stone pillar to launch him into the air. Another soldier ran at Samuel with a sword, but Samuel summoned fire sword and blocked. Samuel lunged at the soldier and cut his arm, he fell to the ground. Samuel ignited the forest he had created around them. Samuel was halfway out of mana, he could feel it but he knew he could keep fighting.

“Hey, Samuel need help?” somebody said from behind Samuel, the soldier in front of Samuel was shot by a blast of light. Samuel turned around to see Eric. The soldier fell to the ground.

“I could handle it.” Samuel said,

“But I helped.” Eric ran into the field, and pushed a soldier into the burning fire around them. They probably weren’t getting up for a while.

“Thanks.” Samuel said.

Eric smiled, “My pleasure, and I brought a bit more than myself though.”

Samuel turned around to look through the growing fire to see all of his friends fighting the controllers now

“Thanks.” Samuel said, as he approached the commander. “Now, what are you trying to do? Summon HIM to destroy all of us.”

The commander smiled, “Of course not, HIM promised us salvation. Control over the entire world, and everyone equal.”

Samuel shook his head, “But that’s not possible.” Samuel looked back to see all of the destruction around him, and thought of all the challenges they have faced. “Equality starts with inequality and we work together to reach equality. Not by forceful demands.” Samuel put out the raging fire around them, “This is not how you reach equality.” Samuel shot the commander with a fire bolt, and they fell.

After the Controller problem, Samuel and his friends thought they were doomed. Samuel suggested they go before they were caught, and that he’d take the blame. But instead they stayed and stood with him. They were all sent off to Elflem to face the Counsel of Marshlake, and Samuel had planned for what would happen next.

As they all walked into the hall of judgement as it was called, there were six people. All sitting on a large desk high above Samuel and his friends. Samuel didn’t know exactly where in Marshlake they had been sent to, they had traveled in Sylvan's tunnel system. So when they emerged they were in a large building and were led straight into the hall of judgment.

“Come forward, Samuel Knight, Human, and the Last Knight of Marshlake.” Said the first judge. Samuel walked up to the counsel. “What happened today exactly?”

Samuel looked at them, his mana was fully regenerated now. He could get out of here with ease, but it was time to gain the trust of this world. Not as a “God”. He was actually taking Harry’s advice.

“Today, I returned to Marshlake in hopes of learning who I am. I did, but that came at a cost. I found the controllers in the school while exploring the school.” He looked back at his friends, “I was told that you were the first to tell, but I ignored that. I am truly sorry for that, but you must realize if I hadn’t done that the Academy would have been overrun by controllers of worse.” Samuel explained.

“But you saved it.” One of the judges.

Samuel looked at the newest judge, “I only helped, it was all of us who saved the school.” Samuel looked back at his friends.

“And is it true that you saw the controllers planning for something?” The third judge asked.

Samuel nodded, “They're planning something big, they’re using an ancient technique known as knight’s magic.” Samuel held up his hand and cast a light spell, “This magic has the potential to destroy both our worlds, and if we don't work together the day will come that it does.”

One of the judges leaned over the desk, “And don’t they need your magic to do so?” Samuel nodded, “So you must be banished.” Samuel gasped.

Sylvan walked next to Samuel, “Let’s not go overboard, the boy has single handedly defeated the controllers multiple times.”

The judges turned to each other, another looked down upon Sylvan. “So what do you suggest we do?”

“We train all of them for the oncoming threats, if HIM is returning we need all the help we can get.” Sylvan continued.

“Well only the Master Knight can defeat HIM, is this what you think this child is?” One of the judges asked.

The Master Knight? What's that? Wait, was that a new Knight? Was there another person like him? Or was he the Master Knight?

Sylvan looked back at Samuel, Samuel looked at him as well. “Yes.” Everyone gasped. “I believe Samuel Knight is the one and only Master Knight.”

The judges looked at eachother, and looked back at them. “Then you must be training. The Master Knight is meant to help understand the universe, can you do that Samuel Knight?”

Samuel looked at the Judges, and cast flight. He rose up to face them eye-to-eye, and looked at the one who’d asked the question. “Yes, I am able to be the Master Knight.”
