The world is incredibly fast-paced, each and every person with their own unique childhood, interests, families, passions, and aspirations. Leaning his pale cheek against the black luxury sedan, Elijah sighs to himself as he watches the vibrancy of life pass by.
A family of three catches his eye. The mother is smiling at her child, holding their hand tightly like a shield preventing all possible dangers. On the other side is the father, his handing wrapping around his precious wife's waist as he looks at her lovingly. A stereotypical happy family is blooming along the sidewalk.
As the black sedan drives pass, so does Elijah's, back to his emotionless listless self. He sighs to himself.
"Feeling nervous, kid?"
His attention caught, Elijah glances up at the back mirror meeting eyes with the driver.
"Maybe a little."
Elijah leans his head against his shoulder, giving an adorable eye-catching smile. His looks are anything but ordinary, his smiley eyes could not be hidden by the black bangs shifting towards the left. Lips red and juicy, with cheeks full and rosy like an apple. It would make anyone want to pinch his cheeks and dot on him. Truly a beauty amongst beauties.
The driver could not help but return the smile while offering words of assurance.
"It's only natural to be nervous travelling so far away from home by yourself at such a young age. But that only proves how amazing you are, so I bet you'll do amazing."
He couldn't help but worry a little bit, seeing a child so young go off on his own. His parental instinct couldn't help but well up.
"If anyone bullies you, I'll tell them off!"
"Hahaha, thank you. I'll be taking you up on that offer."
Elijah returns to his previous posture, nestling up by the car window. Taking a nap would be the best way to kill time. He takes his backpack filled with his belongings, hugging it to sleep.
Elijah was abruptly woken up from his slumber as the car jerked to a stop. Slightly annoyed, he slowly begins to sit up.
"Looks like we're here kiddo, knock 'em dead."
Only taking his backpack, he slams the door shut.
A silent protest.
In front of him is the most successful and renowned entertainment agency, Golden. It is known for producing the most successful idol groups of all time. At this very moment, Elijah was chosen as the final member of their new, upcoming all male group.
It'd be a lie to say he wasn't nervous, but it's too late to back out now. With a confident step forward, Elijah opened the doors without turning back. The inside was more impressive than expected. The marble flooring was polished to the point that it could serve as a mirror. The inside was spacious and modern, with potted plants placed to add some colour.
Elijah looked around the busy faces that walked inside, probably belonging to the most prominent people in the entertainment world.
This is all to a new life. He steeled his nerves, reminding himself of his objectives, rummaging from his pocket the letter sent by the CEO.
Dear Elijah,
We are very excited to announce that your application has thoroughly impressed not only myself but the producers, and would like to invite you to become a member for an upcoming group.
Before officially initiating you into the group, I would like to discuss your abilities in person.
Attached is my business card. Please show this to the receptionist when you arrive. They will give you further instructions.
For a big company, it seems kind of messy…
In any case, there was no other option but to roll with whatever the CEO was planning. And so, Elijah marks his target ahead at the receptionist desk.
The receptionist had a scholarly air, her rectangular glasses and hair tied up gave a cold air, one that was fierce. However, as soon as she saw the boy, she noticeably tensed up.
How could someone be so beautiful?????
From the soft fluffy hair to the deep dark eyes, to the sharp nose and full cheeks, staring at the red lips that would make one question whether it was crafted by the maker himself. On the inside, she was melting from her motherly instincts. On the other hand, passersby became frightened by her sharp and unforgiving gaze.
"What do you want?"
Unphased, Elijah stated his intentions in a normal and gentle manner.
"I received this letter from the CEO," he showed her in an angelic smile. "I was told you'd know what to do once you see it."
ACKKK! How can someone be angelic? This is definitely not human. Her gaze only became increasingly sharper. She took the letter from Elijah's hands, reading each line carefully where her expression increasingly turned more surprised.
"I see, so it's you. The CEO requested you to come to his office for a private word once you arrived. Let me call someone to fetch you."
Elijah continued his perfect and practiced smile as the receptionists made the call. In around five minutes, a fierce looking man approached, Stoic and silent. He gave off the air of a bodyguard with his tall and muscular build. He mumbled something into his earpiece before signalling Elijah to follow.
Following along in the elevator was complete silence. As the floors climbed, so did his nerves. This was after his first time so far away from home. Elijah was completely alone, 3 hours away, as a 17-year-old minor. What if he says something wrong, or gives off a bad impression. After all, it's hard to judge someone completely just from a few videos of him singing and dancing. What if he decides he was wrong about his judgment and sends him away. That he does not in fact has an ounce of star quality, or his skills weren't as great as they seemed. Elijah was confident in his looks and ability to draw in eyes. After all, that's all he's ever done in his youth. Something his mother always said, so there shouldn't be an issue with that regard.
His heart began to thump louder and louder. He severely glanced at the bodyguard looking man above to see if he could hear how loud his heart was beating. Even if he doesn't show it, he must have heard. Endless worries began to spiral in his head, and he clutched the hems of his hoodie, as if that's the only way he can anchor himself to the present. The elevator arrives and they walk straight ahead. The CEO's office can be seen across.
Everything is riding on this moment. Failure is not an option.
