The Celestial Betrayal, Through Time and Tears

Chapter Fourteen Part Two

Chapter Fourteen Part Two

Jul 07, 2025

Beth's room

The room Beth resided in was small. It could barely be called a room. It was about the size of a closet. Only a small bed and a box of clothes was in the room. Hardly any room to sit a guest. That one chair she unfolded took up the last of the space that made the room comfortable.

“Beth, how did you end up here?”

“The nice older woman found me passed out a few months ago. Her daughter is a handful but the old woman has let me stay for the time being. I was so worried I had lost my little one. But she took me in and nursed me back to health.”

“Your belly has grown.”

“Yes. I've been trying to hide and wait for Thallas because Fate did some really horrible things after we disappeared and I'm worried if she finds us first she may try to finish what she started to hide her evil deeds.”

“What do you mean?”

Beth hands him a book.

“This is a mythology book I found in the city library.”

Upon opening that book my world was shattered.

“What the hell! Fate a hero! Since when! Two mortals who killed the God warrior Jason Shield of Velmora. They ran away together leaving both families to face the gods' anger. Beth? It says here that one family was  faithful followers and were spared despite their descendants' transgressions against their goddess, but the unbelieving family of the Luxverra clan was killed. Louis family. They were killed? His children and his father? No. Beth he…”

“I don't know what's happened but I do know Fate has rewrote history in my world and she may have done so in yours also. Juju, she killed all those people and sacrificed so many for her glory. She made us traitors just so people will bow at her feet.”

“Beth. No matter what happens, you have to stay hidden.I will help you get paper work that will change your name. I won't look for you again in person. I will send a man from my business to relay messages to you. It's safer this way”.

“Business?”

“Yes Beth. This world is cold and hard unless you have power. So please don't ask more.  A house and money will be prepared for you by the end of the week. I will find a way to make sure even if we are never found, you and your child will be okay. Especially since it will be my good friend's first born.”

Beth battles tears in her eyes

“Beth, it's the least I can do for failing to protect my friends.”

“You did not fail us.” Silence engulfed them. “Have you found Louis?”

‘No, Louis has not been found. He may have been dropped here at a different time also.”

“40 years is a long time.”

“ Yes, quite long.”

After making sure Elizabeth was in a new home I was informed of all changes in her life by my men. She ended up moving the older woman and her daughter into the home I gifted her.She took care of the older woman until she passed as a way to pay her back for the kindness she showed. The small baby she gave birth to, she named Angela. Angela for Angel. Unfortunately  around that time my wife passed away. The mortal life is so fragile. We never had children and my heart aches for her everyday. I finally understand the mortals saying of heartbroken. I'm heartbroken.

During this time I came across a child whose name was Salvatore. His red eyes reminded me of a close friend I hadn't met in so long, and his spirit reminded me of my people in my clan. He was upright, desired a place in this world and fought for the weak. He  was an orphan after both his parents passed away in a car accident and had no family willing to take him in. Once under my mentorship he flourished. I trained him and taught him the ways of my people and he was becoming the best replacement for me when Thallas showed up. Becoming old made it where I no longer would be useful as a warrior to him. As time went on he became my son… My heir to my seat in my home world. He made me proud.

By the time Beth's daughter was able to walk Louis appeared.  I had ears in every corner of this land and it finally paid off. He ended up in a hospital labeled a victim of an attack.

Once I met with Louis I saw his beaten up body and I couldn't help but replay the last decades in my mind. “So long. I've waited so long.”

“Juju?  Where are we and what are these things? Some people strapped me to this metal bed.”

“Calm down my friend. You are in the hospital.”

“Hospital?”

“Yes, it's a place where the sick and injured go. They  did this for your own good. It seems when you woke you gave them a fight for their lives.”

“What happened to Fate?”

Juju turns his head hoping to not burden him.

“Juju what happened.” Louis' panicked face shows all his fears.

“ Were in the mortal world and a little over 40 years have passed since I came here but 1000 years had passed when I fell here”

“1000 years? But my family”

“I'm so sorry Louis.” Louis' tears streamed down his face like a river. “But my wife, sister, and father. My children. My children, they are so small. They all count on me.”

“Louis rest. Once you are rested more then I shall speak more. Now please rest and Beth will be here to see you with Angel.”

“Beth? Beth's here and who's Angel?”

“Angel her and Thallas’ child.”

“ Their child? Juju, what am I to do? My family.” Louis sobs

That day Beth visited him and I only watched in the corner unable to express the grief I knew he had. Louis lost the most out of us. And the mythology book spoke of his people being destroyed as punishment by Lilith’s people.

I wish the stone would get more power faster.Even though its almost ready I’m still on edge. I grew up with Lilith and now she is long from the woman I knew as a child. I fear her and what she's capable of.

Once Louis was well and more grounded, I made sure to set him up in a profession that suited him and benefited us all. He became a lawyer by reading some books and I paid for the degree to be bypassed so he could get to it and we could hide even better. Louis was involved in making sure my ‘businesses’ were legal enough but still protected my people, our people. I even found him a very useful and wonderful secretary that didn't mind getting her hands dirty for him but she had been trained to be useful to our King when the time came. I was set to wait, then one fateful day she found me.

Boarding school in the Netherlands where Salvatore Attends

Okay I'll see you after break. Salvatore walked into his room and turned on the lights.

“Father, how did you get here? Why are you bleeding?”

I only thought at that time while bleeding from my wounds is that I didn't want to leave him alone again. I wanted to stay, and watch him grow into the man I knew he would be, but I knew my time had come and I wanted to do all I could to protect him. My son. I wanted to protect my son even in death.

On his bed laid his father with barely any life left in him. Breathing heavily he beckoned him over for his last words.

“There's no time. Hand me your hand.”

“Father?”

Juju’s hands glow blue. Today I place this stone in your body by oath to our gods and name you, Salvatore as my heir and this is the proof you are to sit in my seat as clan leader.” As he spoke his words a blue light transferred from him to the child. “I just transferred the stone into your body and made it where you will be able to wield my power once the stone has regained its power fully. You are no longer a mortal but a Celestial warrior. You belong to the Velmora clan. You are my child now through and through. Once enough power has reached the stone our king will find you. Please avoid the Taso family until then, they follow Fate who is our peoples enemy and she would sense the stone in you. Remember all I taught and showed you and guide our people in my place. My son, you truly have made me proud.”

“Father, what do you mean they follow Fate. Father! Father! Why are you not waking up? Father!” Salvatore sobs while a soft  blue light  illuminates the room, scared while holding his fathers lifeless body. That my friends is how my story ended.

Angie has been dealt a rough hand. She lost her mother, and ended up abused by her adopted mother. Almost sold to a creep and lost some people in death that she loved like family. It Just seems like Fate wont let her be. She ends her short life in a ditch begging to not be killed. Broken and killed by the man she loves in her last moments she hears a voice. Then she wakes up in her room five years before the tragedy with a second chance. But this second chance comes with a price she wasn't prepared for.

What would you do if you were given a do-over?
Would you treasure the ones you love more?
Would you play the lottery, knowing the winning numbers?
Would you chase after that one person you foolishly let go?

Well, what about murder? Seeking revenge might end up on that plate too.
Or maybe you’d start digging into old, unanswered questions?

I don’t know about you, but Angie here — she’s got a lot of bones to pick with someone.
Or is it someones?
Oh, I don’t know... but I thought it would be fun to see what she would do if given a second chance.

See, Angie’s a smart child — maybe too smart.
So smart she got herself killed.
She noticed things, trusted the wrong people... tsk, tsk, tsk.
She was so sweet — you know, before the whole "being murdered" thing.

So, are you ready to see how Angie uses that second chance?
Might want to grab some popcorn while we watch, because this is going to be a long —and I mean long — ride.
