DE-ZONE

chapter4: the death station

chapter4: the death station

Jul 09, 2025

The night came, one could see the moon shining it's light all over the ground, Taio's room lights were off because the moonlight was enough for him at that moment.

He was sitting on his bed and took off the bandage, looking at it with so many questions in his mind.

He couldn't think of anything but Rounin's words from yesterday, while staying in his room and trying to accept everything, his heart couldn't handle it yet.

Rounin's voice echoed on his ears again, Taio remembered the conversation that they had.

“what do you mean we're confined here? Couldn't you contact the outside?”

“we couldn't, our phones can't reach outside and theirs wouldn't as well.”

Taio was listening with a question mark on his face, the more Rounin explained the more Taio's expression got unserious.

“Here, in this restricted zone, we're dead and alive at the same time, i'm pretty sure outside this area no one knows what's happening here.”

“Did anyone from outside try to come in? Can they even enter?!” i was curious even though this whole conversation looked like a big stupid lie but Rounin kept on answering them seriously.

“Yes, but everyone that entered, turned into outcasts except one.”

***

The more i think about it, the more stupid it becomes.

I looked at my bandage, no blood stains on it, same goes for my forhead.

He might have lied about my condition too, i better leave here before it's too late.

Taio tried to break free from that mansion, he stepped his foot outside his room but the mansion looked so dark and quite, there was no one around and it was too easy for Taio to leave the mansion and get to the yard.

No one even followed me...maybe i have mistook him for someone evil and he didn't mean anything bad.

I saw that some rooms lights were on, if they wanted they'd stop me anyway.

That doesn't matter anymore, i need to get away from here now that i made it this far.

First thing's first. I should find the closest subway from here and find out the real reason behind my memory loss.
I need to get my memories back.

***

After searching a bit, Taio really found a subway near the mansion but that subway looked strange, Taio was starting to wonder why no one's around and more important than that no train seemed to arrive at all.

It's been two hours...and no train in sight.

Am i wasting my time here? Why is this subway so quiet?

For some reason, i'm starting to feel anxious, maybe this was a mistake, maybe whatever that guy was saying was true afterall.

I was lost in my thoughts untill i heard a familiar voice that broke the loud silence.

“No train's gonna come.” it was the same blonde guy, he was talking from the other side of the station.

Has he followed me here? I knew it, i had a bad feeling about him...he's finally showing his true colors.

“Are you here to bring me back forcefully?” i had my fist ready to fight him if necessary but Rounin smiled and showed the bag he was carrying with him.

“relax, i brought your bag with me, Genji Taio. Grab it.”

He threw it at me in a light speed and made sure i'd catch it.

When i caught it i realized he called a familiar name. 'Genji Taio' that must be my name, but how did he know?!

“And i have to tell you, i'm sorry that i looked inside your bag and found out about your name through your student card.”

Oh so he found out this way...i can't really get mad at him right now, he came all the way here just to hand over my bag.

“For the last time, i wanted to tell you something.” he said this but in a gentle way as if he tried to convince me one more time.

“This place is dangerous, i'd recommend you come with me for now because you might get killed.”

I knew he'd say something like that but i still couldn't trust him cause i could see the lights of the train in the tunnel, it was getting closer so i made up my mind already.

“Just now you said no train's gonna come right?”

“Yes, what about it?”

I mean, couldn't he see it? The train's lights were almost hard to ignore so i had to point out at the tunnel.

“Then how'd you explain this?”

Rounin finally noticed the train but his attitude changed and his eyes were full of shock.

Why's he so surprised? Did i make a mistake?!

Rounin shouted at me and it startled me.

“Taio, hurry up and get away from there.”

What...?

He suddenly started to run towards me, how does he want to come over to the other side of the station? The gap looks big, he can't jump from there.

The train entered the station and got between Taio and Rounin.

Rounin couldn't make it to Taio's side. He tried to touch the train to see if the train's appearance is real or hallucination but his finger couldn't reach the train, an invisible magical wall was there and seperated Taio's side from Rounin's.

“Tch! They already casted a protector wall here...and a strong one at that.” he was hopeless, no ways to cross that wall so he wanted to shoot his last shot there.

“Taio, use the emergency stairs and leave the station.” Rounin once again tried to convince Taio to leave.

The train stopped.

[Welcome to the death station.]

What?...the station's name? What's this...

[The doors are opening now.]

There were four peach black skinned people behind the doors in the train just like the doll i saw in that mansion but they looked a little different...!

“Taio, these outcasts aren't like the one you saw in the villa, once they get off they'll eliminate you.”

Rounin's timing was perfect, whenever i had questions in my thoughts he replied them immaditually but this one has kinda scared me.

What does he mean? should i run now or is it too late...

Three of them got off of the train, those so called 'outcasts' had weapons all over their bodies.

They got closer, there were smokes everywhere the moment the train's doors opened, those outcasts started to speed up their walking rate and slowly turned it into running towards me while pointing their weapons at me.

Yes, i was their main target.

Damn...these things...!

What am i supposed to do right now!
