“This is my home under the sea.” My mom reads to me. I love mermaids and I especially love this book. It tells me all about the secrets of mermaids and where they live. After my mom is done she tells me to get into bed since I have swim practice early in the morning. I can’t help but feel excited to practice swimming. Then, I can swim like a mermaid. I fell asleep quickly even though I felt so full of energy.

The morning came so fast. I got up and quickly began to get ready. I changed into my swimsuit and almost leaped into the car. My dad drove my mom and I to the pool and we all walked through the entrance to meet my new swim teacher. She was so cool. I believed with her help I would swim like a mermaid in no time. I slowly got into the water. It was so nice and cold compared to the heat outside. She started to teach me how to kick and float. I had a hard time floating, but I would practice and get better. I just knew it. After the lesson my mom and dad were waiting for me. They handed me a towel and I started to dry off. They were both smiling at me.
