Chapter 2

Samuel woke up on the island, with Jackson and Adam. They were both knocked out, Samuel looked around. It was the island all right, he went over to the two sleeping kids. He pushed them a bit before Jackson woke up, he was super scared for some reason. He looked at Samuel, but before he could say something, Adam woke up.

“Wow, what was that place?” He said,

Samuel and Jackson both looked at each other, “Which place, the tube, or the hall? There’s a lot of places you can get stuck in while in the void.”

Adam looked at him confused, “The tube I’m pretty sure.”

“You got hit with Knight’s magic.” Samuel said,

Jackson went wide eyed, “He did?”

Samuel nodded, “Ya, so did I.”

Jackson looked at Samuel wide eyed, “You did?”

Samuel nodded, “Let’s just get to school, we can teach you better there.” Jackson nodded in agreement, “What do you think?” Samuel asked Adam.

He thought for a second, “Ya why not, you two are the only ones I can really trust right now.”

“Everyone get down.” Jackson yelled. Jackson went full armor mode, and turned around. “We’re being stalked.”

“By who?” Samuel asked,

“Controllers.” Jackson said,

Samuel’s eyes widened, “Come on, let’s go.” Samuel noticed the crushed warriors. Samuel turned around and closed the portal, then got on his staff with Adam to fly to the school.

While in the air with Adam, Samuel explained what was happening.

“Jackson has the ability to ‘feel’ people around him including enemies, monsters, and friends.” Samuel said, “Obviously, those people weren’t friends.”

“Ya, so what’s happening?” Adam asked,

“I don't know.” Samuel said.

After flying for a long time, and arriving at the school. They looked for their friends.

“Welcome to Marshlake’s Academy for Magic!” Jackson said, as they toured Adam through the campus.

“You can learn magic here?” Adam asked,

Jackson winced, “Well not the magic me and Samuel know, we are known as Knight’s. We were Chosen by the world to protect it, so it gave us abilities to help.”
“So what are your abilities?” Adam asked.

Jackson seemed thrilled, “Well, it’s not much, but I can cast magic spells just like Samuel does but only a select few of magic. I also was given abilities from the gods like, Telolocation, the ability to sense things around me with my mind. I can do this thing called intangibility as well, it…”

“Allows you to travel through solid objects!” Adam yelled,

“Yes, only for a few seconds. Obviously I can run fast like Samuel, and I'm able to do pure magic. We don't actually know what that is yet though.” Jackson kept talking about their abilities and what they could do, while Samuel led them through the campus to their old room.

“So Samuel, what can you do?” Adam asked,

Samuel turned around, “Well, I am directly connected to the void. The thing between the dimensions. I have a natural talent in magic, I was able to figure out what was wrong with me within a few weeks. I’ve also been able to figure out every other thing in our adventures, I’m the ideas guy. I helped stop the war, and I stopped the controllers from taking the school by empowering myself with the void.”

Adam looked amazed, “Is that why you're called the Master Knight?”

“Yes, and being how I’ve figured out all of this realms secrets with all of my friends.” Samuel knocked on the door, when it opened Eric was at the door.

“What? No, no, no.” He pulled all of them in the room, “You guys chose a really bad time to come to Marshlake.”

Charles came out of the closet, “Ya you did!”

“Why what’s wrong?” Adam asked.

Eric looked past Samuel and stared at Adam, “Please don't tell me you brought another littler human.”

“We brought another littler human.” Samuel said,

“Arg, Ok another problem but ok.” Eric said,

“Why what’s happening?” Jackson said,

“The Controllers have taken the capital!” Charles yelled,

Samuel gasped, “Elflem?”

Eric nodded, “Ya, and they say they have a big plan. In two days they’re going to cast two spells, we don't know which spells.”

“Ok, so let’s get to the Study then.” Samuel said, he dropped all of his stuff on the floor. “You can take my bed, I’ll sleep on the floor.” Samuel grabbed his staff and magic book, “Any of you coming?” Samuel asked. Adam went to Samuel.

“I trust you.” Adam said,

Jackson walked with them, “Might as well.” Jackson said with a smile.

Eric rolled his eyes, “I can’t believe we’re all friends, Charles get Carlene and Sylvan. We’ll get studying.”

Charles nodded, “First, what will you be studying about exactly?”

“What the Controllers are planning.” Samuel said,

Samuel had gone deep into the Study's library, and found a lot of old things the controllers were studying. He found a lot of old scrolls, and books. He brought them all to the main study, and started going through some of them. Jackson was trying to teach a bit of Knight’s Magic to Adam, but he hadn’t learned anything. Eric already tried teaching traditional magic to him, but failed.

“See what you need to do is pull at the springs of the void, and push it out of yourself.” Jackson tried explaining

Adam reached his hand out really far, but nothing happened. “It’s not working, I can't get magic.” Samuel walked over to him.

“I didn’t want it to come to this, but I guess we need all the help we can get.” Samuel held a piece of paper, “While I was studying the clerics for Jackson, I found some other kinds of magic users. These were some of them. Many people of Knight’s Magic, and what they identified as.” Adam looked over all of them.

“Who’s that?” He asked,

“I don't know, I never found much information on him personally. I do know what they were though, and what they could do.”

“What could they do?” Adam asked, intrigued.

“Well they were called The First Battlemage.” Samuel said,

“Really?” Adam asked,

“Yep, and they were magic users who used it to fight.” Samuel looked at the paper, “Wanna try?”

Adam looked at him, “Ya!”

Samuel looked up battlemage in the large library that the Study led into. He had brought Adam down there.

“So you just have all of this information at your fingertips?” Adam asked,

Samuel laughed, “Yep. I know I can’t believe it either”

“Have you found out anything that Battlemages can do?”

“Like I said, I was studying Clerics and Paladins before. This was just a fluke, but I think I already know some spells I can try to teach you.” Samuel grabbed a book labeled Magic’s of Battle. Samuel put it on one of the tables, and opened it.

“So what kind of magic can I do?” Adam asked,

“Some cool magic.” Samuel said, he stepped back and casted fire sword. Adam backed away, “This is what you can do.” Said Samuel, “And I’ll teach it all to you.”

“Can you teach me that one now?” Adam asked,

“Sure.” Samuel brought Adam and his books to an open area of the library. “So, first think of heat. Then repeat my words.” Adam nodded, “Mohanlocate Soyomartiawlocasa”

“Mohanlocate Soyomartiawlocasa” Adam repeated, he summoned a sword of flame in his hands. He backed up a bit, and gazed at the spell. He closed his eyes, and the spell disappeared. “Awsome.” Adam whispered.

Samuel smiled, “Now try casting it without the words.”

Adam looked at him, “That’s possible?”

“That’s how you learn magic.” Samuel said.

“Ok.” Adam said, he closed his eyes. He opened them and a sword of flame emerged from his hands. “Wow.” Adam smiled, “Have you ever taught anyone else before?”

“Ya, I taught Jackson a bit of magic. He also uses some combat magic, but he mostly uses elemental magic.” Samuel explained, “There’s two ways magic goes, and that is the element and how you use it. We call that an attack.”

“And that’s what I do.” Adam said,

“Exactly.” Samuel said, “But when we’re done with this I need you to help me find out what the controllers are planning.”
