Lyle's POV:
I have planned this day for months.
It must be perfect.
What I mean by that is, I have wanted to go to a fair for the longest time, and I learned a couple of months back that a fair was coming to town. I planned that Iris and Echo would be here too, but they have jobs and a life. It's ok.
Tom has a van, no idea why, but whatever, it's the car that he wanted. He said that he was able to carpool everyone, I'm so happy that he was ok with the idea.
I'm running a bit late to the time we all agreed to leave, but I really wanted to buy everyone a coffee and a muffin.
I texted a couple of people what they wanted, got it then placed an order at this local coffee shop. Tom texted me that he was here
I grabbed everything, and Oliver helped me take the coffees and muffins to the car.
When I got there, everyone was in the car. I handed out everything and put on a playlist that I had made for this trip. I had asked everyone what their favorite childhood songs were, and then added some things that I thought everyone would enjoy.
Tom put the address in his GPS, and we just sang and joked around until we arrived.
Ken suggested that we all split up, Oliver and Alex chose each other, even though I knew it might be awkward, I chose Ken. Marcus and Tom didn't seem to mind being left with the other.
Ken wanted to look at the contests that were going on, so he decided to participate in the cow milking contest.
"Are you sure about that?" I asked.
"How hard could it be?" He said nievly.
He came dead last, he had no idea how much pressure you needed or anything. He was also covered in milk. I was cackling at his defeated expression. I made fun of him for a bit, then we moved on to games.
I won myself a stuffed green frog from a ring game, I was so happy and kept gushing about it. Ken decided to make me buy him a blue rabbit since he felt like he deserved a furry companion as well.
"Oh my lord, it's so cute!" I exclaimed.
I heard Ken mutter something, I don't know what he said, but it was funny seeing him look up at me and whisper something under his breath. He's so short.
I smile at him he looks shocked and turns his head away.
He's blushing. The lights make him look so pretty. I want to see him like this all of the time.
I make him play a few more games for me, I bought him a plush, I should have some say over this.
"Lyle, when are you going to stop hanging Larry the bunny over me?" Ken askes.
"NEVER, now play my games little man," I respond.
"Oh HELL no, I am NOT little, you are the tall freak, freak," Ken bites back.
I tickle him a little bit, then he decides to chase me around yelling about how I declared an act of war.
I then give him the L and show off my 6ft 2 frame and leave him in the dust. I run right back after he stops chasing me and wrench his bunny away from him
"Larry, no!" Ken cries, "You're too young to die!"
"He's mine! Muhahahah!!" I cackle.
"Larry!" Ken colapses dramatically and starts fake sobbing.
There are people looking at us, but I don't care anymore, I'm being young and dumb. With someone I like.
My cheeks are flushed a voilent shade of pink, and Ken is just on the ground laughing.
He looks at me grinning ear-to-ear, his eyes look like he was just caught doing something he shouldn't, and his freckles just look like a sea of stars waiting to be explored. His tie is caught over his shoulder, and I think his white tank top is stained green and brown.
I help him up from the ground and give him back Larry, then we head to a bench. Cooling down, and enjoying the night.
I feel my phone ding, and I check it.
The college chat with the hoes :OOOO
Hey peopples, we need tohead back pls go to Martha- Alex
Yepperoo!!! :P- Lyle
"Hey, Ken, we need to head back. Curfew is a thing that we need to abide by," I stated.
"Yup, got the message too, let's head out," he responds.
Alex, Oliver, Ken, and I all head to the car and meet up. Tom and Marcus didn't show up for a bit, and I texted both of them a bunch, to no avail. Not even a 'read' on my screen.
They finally show up, and I notice that they look messier than I had last seen them at the arcade, and that they won't make eye contact with anyone.
Tom drops us off, and we all head back to our dorms, I'll ask them what happened tomorrow.
I hope they didn't think I'd let them get away with the tension.
For now, I need sleep.
