I woke with a start and looked around. I was in my room but it felt like something was not right. Loking out of my window, I felt a tingling sensation inside my stomach. Like butterflies. It made me smile. It made me feel content but at the same time, I felt uneasiness crawling under my skin.
I looked straight ahead, into all those trees outside. I felt the woods calling me.
"I need to go..."
Something, someone, was there, waiting for me.
Then I blinked, and the next moment, I was inside the woods. With no idea how I even got there. But that wasn't what kinda freaked me out.
The thing that did, was when I realized I was on all fours. And I didn't have palms, I had paws. There was a wolf infront of me.
He got closer and I felt something burning.
My breathes became heavier and--
I woke up with a gasp. Looking around me, I realized I was in my room. Again.
Looking down at my hands, I now had normal human palms.
What is going on...? What exactly was that dream? It felt so vivid. I couldn't differentiate between a dream and reality.
I looked down to my right when I heard light movements and realized I wasn't alone.
So what happened right now was an actual dream or a flashback to what really happened? I felt like I dreamt that dream before. So was it some kind of flashback...?
Did it really happen? I-- wasn't a human...
Ughhh! I want to scream in frustration!!
And maybe I would've if Liam wasn't sleeping in my bed so peacfully and drooling all over my pillow.
"That is definitely real." I chuckled to myself, poking his cheek a few times and smiled as he slowly stirred awake.
He opened his eyes, blinking a few times to make the sleep go away. When he saw me he sat up pretty fast and then held his head in his hands, probably seeing black.
"Easy there tiger." I chuckled.
He looked at me, smiling. "How are you?" he asked, a little worry etched on his face and in his voice.
"Ummm... I'm fine and you?" I raised an eyebrow. What's with the 'Worried Mother Behavior' right now?
"I'm great." he replied.
"Cool."
"Yeah.."
That situation right now reminded me that boy in school that asked if my little-more-sharp-than-human canine teeth were real.
It started getting weird, almost awkward even. Almost. We were never and I hope we -would- never get awkward with each other.
Lucky us that someone knows exactly when to intervene --most of the time anyways--.
There were soft knocks on my door. I raised my head towards it, breaking that strange, -almost- awkward eye contact. Though I could still feel Liam's gaze on me, burning holes through my head.
"Yes?" My voice was hoarse from sleep and somehow, my throat was a little bit sore, like I was screaming for a long time.
I coughed a bit to make it go away but I could still feel it lingering.
"Hey sweetie, good morning" she smiled. Opening the door wider, she stepped in.
"Morning ma." I stretched my pretty sore muscles and yawned. They felt sore but somehow more free.
I looked at my mom, her expression was filled with worry. It made me stop to think.
She took a seat on the bed and looked at me like she waiting for an answer.
What's with everyone and their worried expressions?
"Mum, what's wrong?"
"That's what I'm supposed to ask you." she mumbled, almost as if it was to herself more than it was to me.
My eyebrows pinched together in confusion. "What?"
"Nothing, sorry. Get ready to school both of you and come down, breakfast is ready." And before I could ask anything else, she left the room.
I groaned, plopping onto my back. All this soreness is weird, like I did a workout in the middle of my sleep.
"Come on." Liam dragged me from the bed towards the bathroom. I was very reluctant to get out from under the blankets. But eventually he managed.
We brushed our teeth-- Yes, Liam have a toothbrush in my bathroom because we do many sleepovers. Got any problems!?
Kai thinks he's just a normal human being like all the other students in his class. But then he realizes how wrong he was. People he trusted, lied to him all of his life. Someone he thought was dead, turned out to be alive.
He felt so betrayed.
Stuff he thought were just legends and fairytales, turned out to be all true.
It all was too overwhelming.
He tried to run away cause he couldn't handle that much at once. But with the right, not so usual people by his side, he learns how to accept the truth.
...
There will be some french sentences here and there.
