That day was a wonderful day for that seven-year-old child. He went on the trip he had been longing for, a trip to the Great Pyramids of Giza.
He, along with his mother and father, were heading to the pyramids in their luxurious car, getting closer to their destination. The pyramids were now clearly visible to the child, who stared at them in amazement.
Everything was going perfectly for the child, at least, as far as he was concerned. His father had argued with someone on the way, but the child didn’t pay attention or even look. There were far too many things occupying that little one’s mind.
But all that calm was shattered by a deafening scream that pierced their ears, filling the little boy, his mother, and everyone else with terror. The sound came from a side street behind the car, not too far away.
The mother, who was sitting in the back seat with the child, tried to calm him down. But as she was speaking, the car suddenly came to a violent stop. A shadow shrouded the car, as if a cloud had blotted out the sunlight, and silence spread for a few moments.
The child didn't see what was happening, he had violently slammed into the front car seat. But before he could regain his focus, his mother yanked him by the arm and threw him onto the driver's seat where his father had been sitting. Everything felt chaotic and meaningless to him.
But then he suddenly woke up in bed. He was relieved to have escaped that terrifying nightmare. Until he realized this wasn’t his bed, and this wasn’t his room. The child understood then that what he had experienced that day wasn’t just a nightmare. It was a bizarre and bitter reality.
News broadcasts around the world reported the crash of a massive spaceship in the Giza Pyramids area, destroying a 50-kilometer radius. The only survivors were the famous businessman "Kamal Mohamed" and his son "Ahmed." The businessman suffered severe leg injuries, forcing doctors to amputate both limbs, while the mother who had been with them in the same car died. The child remained unharmed. All information about what was found inside the spacecraft was suppressed, throwing the world into chaos over the news.
That was what the child knew when he regained consciousness a full week after the incident. The weight of all this news crushed him so much that he stopped speaking for a time. He didn’t even cry at his mother’s funeral. All he could do was stare blankly and think.
Contemplating questions without answers: Why did his mother throw him instead of protecting him? Who screamed that piercing cry and why? Where did the spacecraft come from? Why did it crash rather than land? How did it appear suddenly when it wasn't in the sky moments before? These seemingly disconnected fragments somehow felt related.
The only certainty for him was that someone—or something—had orchestrated it all. This was the key to the mystery. From that day forward, the boy sought nothing but that key.
He became lost in another dimension within his mind, utterly indifferent to everything. His father, completely helpless, took him to countless doctors, but Ahmed remained silent until one day, he unexpectedly spoke. He asked to return to the school he'd abandoned, insisting he wanted to study and learn. His overjoyed father immediately agreed.
Ahmed never regained his former talkativeness, but at least he was speaking—or so his father thought. Later, he discovered his son had been holding lengthy conversations alone in his room.
As he grew, Ahmed did almost nothing but study—physics, chemistry, even biology, still ignorant of the nature of the creatures that piloted the ship. He researched ancient history, probing potential connections between Egyptians and the incident, given the pyramid crash site. He read about conspiracy theories, myths, and strange phenomena in his spare time studying chaotically, desperately searching for meaning in anything.
He graduated from a prestigious Faculty of Science, still obsessed with the same mystery. After graduation, he sent many letters to authorities, asking to be allowed to study what they had found inside the spaceship.
But the only thing left at the site was the outer shell. The spaceship had been fully dismantled by the government for research, and they never responded.
No one was allowed to know what was inside. Things stayed that way, until the unthinkable happened.
Ahmed woke up to the strangest news he had heard in years. A massive island, about 100,000 square kilometers in size, appeared just 2 kilometers from the coast of a country. But it wasn’t an ordinary island. It looked advanced and full of unknown technology. It resembled the fallen spaceship more than an island.
News websites shared pictures and videos of the island. But one video shocked everyone the most; A giant hologram in human form appeared on the island and spoke loudly:
- “Hello, outer world. We are the people of Atlantis.”
When our hero heard that, he jumped out of his bed and dropped his phone in shock. He ran down the stairs of his luxurious home to find his father eating breakfast. When he approached his father, his father pointed his finger at him and said:
- No, you are not going anywhere.
Ahmed, who looked annoyed:
= I’ve been waiting for something like this my whole life!
- How are you so sure this island is connected to the incident in the first place?
= Haven’t you seen the pictures and videos? That island looks more like a spaceship than a piece of land. There is definitely a connection between all these strange events, even if they seem random and illogical.
- Even if that’s true, what will you do if you go there? This isn’t a game. Whatever’s behind this is very dangerous.
= Who said I’m going there?
- WHAT?! Then why did you come?
=Ahmed with a silly smile on his face: I want to form a team to investigate strange phenomena. And we’ll start with this one.
- His father sighed deeply and said: You got my hopes up for a moment and then you hit me with news that could be even worse. Can’t you just let it go? I know you’re doing this for your mother. You’ve tried your whole life, and it hasn’t worked. I think your mother would be happier if you had a normal life instead of the one, you're leading yourself into.
= I know. But I can’t live a normal life without answers. And if you want me to be happy, then help me get those answers faster.
- His father smiled lightly, put his hand on Ahmed’s shoulder, and said firmly: No matter how hard I try to stop you, I cannot keep you away from your destiny. You can do whatever you want, I’ll fund everything. But at least … be careful.
Ahmed smiled to his father and walked away, thinking:
=My destiny? Isn’t that a little dramatic?
His father sat alone, looking at an old family photo on his phone’s background, and said to his wife:
- Your son is choosing the hard path. I can’t stop him. But I know you’re always protecting him. And that makes me feel safe.
And so, our hero quickly began preparing ads to search for others like him. It wasn’t easy, but eventually, he found a few.
