The Game Has just Begun

IV

IV

Aug 01, 2025

Today was finally Wednesday. Taehyun didn’t have classes on Tuesdays, nor did he have anything to do today, so he finally had a moment to breathe. A full day to chill… well, kinda. Now that he at least knew who the "stalker" was in real life, the fear wasn’t gnawing at his spine like it used to. He planned to stay in all day, just chill,  and maybe hit the grocery store to get some food around 6 pm or something. He looked up at the clock on his wall, It was already 5:40, kind of late. He sighed and got up to change out of his pajamas.

He chose out a lazy outfit, per usual. Grey baggy jeans, a black shirt, and a grey hoodie. He sprayed on some cologne, grabbed his bag, and headed for the door. Hmm, should he go somewhere after the grocery store, he didnt have much to do anyways and his friends invited him to some place anyway, wouldnt hurt going, right?

Just as he was about to leave, there was a knock on the door.

Huh… Strange

"I swear if it’s another package from him…" he mumbled, forcefully dragging himself toward the door.

He let out a slow breath before opening it, expecting to see some box on the doormat-

But instead, he saw shoes, no, someones shoes.

No box this time.

Someone was standing right in front of him.

His eyes slowly traveled up to their face

And of course it was no other then Seojun.

Of course it was Seojun.

This guy… Just because he knew Taehyun’s address didn’t mean he could pull up uninvited like it was casual.

"Can you… not randomly stalk me?" Taehyun muttered, annoyed. Wow.. this conversation was more casual then it should be. Seojun smirked, locking eyes with him. "Oh? But I wasn’t stalking. I just thought we should work on our project. I don’t know about you, but I don’t wanna fail."

What a convenient excuse, very believable, very, but still Taehyun was not dealing with this right now. He grabbed the doorknob, ready to slam it in Seojun’s face, but a hand slid in and caught it just in time, damn it, he was pretty strong for someone like him.

"Hm. Trying to keep me out Taehyun?"

And just like that, Seojun walked into the apartment.

This was so frustrating. Honestly, more frustrating then scary.

"Ah, this place looks familiar," Seojun said, strolling over to the couch and plopping down.

Right... He already knew what Taehyun’s apartment looked like.

"Taehyun, wasn’t that chair in your room yesterday? Why’d you move it?"

Taehyun crossed his arms. "Are you here to critique my furniture placement or work on the project?"

Seojun’s smile twitched. "Right.. right."

Taehyun rolled his eyes and went to grab his laptop. They ended up sitting on the floor in his room, scrolling through research. Taehyun laid down looking up at the empty seling, thinking, while Seojun did most, or all, of the work. Eventually, Taehyun sat up, watching Seojun.

This guy… He didn’t even feel like a stalker right now. He looked like a regular  college student. Popular, even. Seojun had a lot of friends, didn’t he?

Taehyun stared at him, trying to piece things together. Wow.. how did someone like Seojun end up like this..

His eyes scanned Seojun, he looked so peaceful like this, sitting so casual. Taehyun looked up and down Seojun, now that he thought of it, Seojun had a nice style. White button up, black tie. Clean look. If it weren’t for the random band aids slapped all over him he would look even better, but whatever Taehyun didnt care how Seojun looked.

Then Taehyun’s gaze stopped.

Another band aid. This one was on Seojun’s neck and just under it, a cut still peeked through.

Huh… Where the hell was he getting hurt like that?

Then his eyes drifted to Seojun’s collar.

Wait.. Hold on.

Was that red?

There was a stain on Seojun’s collar. Dark red. And now that Taehyun looked closer, there were more on his sleeve too.

"Seojun… what’s that on your shirt?" he asked, pointing.

Seojun, previously focused on the laptop, turned and followed his finger. "Oh, that?"

He smiled.

"Pfft. I don’t know, Taehyun. Try guessing what it might be."

Taehyun’s eyes widened.

No fucking way...

"Is that… what I think it is?"

Seojun didn’t blink. Just stared at him. "Well, I don’t know. What do you think it is?"

His head started spinning.

Shit. He always knew Seojun wasn’t right in the head, a psycho, a moron, but this? This felt like it crossed into something else entirely.

If that was blood…

It had to come from somewhere. Blood didn’t just appear out of nowhere. And the one wearing it was.. Seojun, which made it even worse.

"Seojun… I have a question."

Seojun nodded. "Yes?"

Shit, shit, shit.. Should he even ask this?

Whatever. Fuck it. Things were already too far gone.

"Why are you doing this? Stalking me? What did I do to deserve this?"

Seojun tilted his head slightly, mouth parting. He looked genuinely interested.

"What? Don’t tell me you still don’t understand."

"No. I actually don’t."

Seojun scoffed.

"Well, I’m sure by now you remember that time in high school when you tried to hack someone named 'vortex'. That was me you know that. You failed, obviously. Well, succeeded for like two seconds, but whatever."

He paused, locking eyes with him.

"Listen. Let me say something, Taehyun. I don’t like letting people fuck with me. I don’t care if it was only two seconds, it still happened. So now… you pay the price."

His voice dropped lower.

"Who knows how many other users have met a bad fate because of you?"

What??

He had to be joking.

All this because of two fucking seconds??

"Now, Taehyun," Seojun continued, "can I ask you a question?"

He didn’t wait for a response, he just asked.

"Why do you do it? Hacking people. Because I’m almost certain you don’t fully mind the stuff you’ve seen on those sites. murder, torture, homicide. You’ve seen it all on those links, be honest. You don’t completely mind it now, do you?"

What the hell kind of question was that?

Of course he did. Of course he hated that shit.

"What?? Why would you even ask me that?!"
