Seojun smirked. “Oh? So you think so? Well, okay. Say whatever you want.” He stretched, then casually looked back down. “Anyway... I’ll get back to work.” And just like that, he went back to typing. Huh.. What a weird question earlier... They sat like that for a while, the room quiet aside from the occasional click of the keyboard. Eventually, Seojun spoke up again. “God, this project is so fucking boring. I’m taking a break.” Taehyun nodded, eyes still on the screen. “Yeah, me too.” Seojun scoffed. “Pfft. You didn’t even do anything.”

Taehyun didn’t answer.

Yeah… that was true. But still, Seojun made him tired just being here.

He stood up, realizing how dry his throat felt. Maybe he was just thirsty as hell. Weirdly, Seojun didn’t ask where he was going or say anything as Taehyun walked out the room. Taehyun had only planned to grab a water bottle from the kitchen. But somehow, a few steps turned into standing out on the balcony, leaning against the railing looking out. It was already pitch black outside. Only light came from a couple of neon signs flickering from nearby bars. Pink, blue, sickly purple. Everything looked kind of hazy from up here. Hmm. 

Taehyun turned, ready to go back but

“Fuck-”

His body flinched.

Seojun was right next to him.

What the hell?

How’d he get there so quietly?

“Be careful,” Seojun said, voice low “Don’t fall off. It’s pretty high up.” And then his hand was on Taehyun’s waist, pulling him a little closer to the center.

“Don’t touch me.”

Seojun ignored that.

“Taehyun,” he said, almost playfully, “I’m kinda in the mood for some alcohol. You got any?”

That was… random.

“Yeah,” Taehyun replied, still tense. And just like that, in the blink of an eye, the two of them were now slouched on the couch, a bottle of wine between them.

“Ew. Wine is so nasty. How do you drink this shit?”

Taehyun made a face at the bitter taste, lips curling.

“Well, you’re the one who had it.”

The room went quiet again. The hum of the fridge. The muffled traffic below.Taehyun stared into the glass in his hands. His head felt heavier now. Eyes starting to blur. Ears ringing a little.

…Shit.

The alcohol was definitely kicking in.

“Wow,” Seojun said, amusement in his voice. “You don’t look so good. Drunk already?”

Taehyun groaned, rubbing his head

“What… no. Just… a headache.”

Seojun scooted closer.

“Oh yeah? Want me to get some medicine for you?”

The sarcasm was dripping.

“Shut up.” Seojun chuckled and, without warning, slid his fingers into Taehyun’s hair, gently ruffling it toying with him like he always did.

“Sure. But only if you make me,” he murmured.

Taehyun rolled his eyes and smacked the back of Seojun’s head.

“Damn it. I hate you so much.”

Seojun didn’t even flinch, just smiled.

“Do you?”

“Yes, I do.”
