Emotionless Emotions of a Cyborg

The War Ends

The War Ends

Aug 01, 2025

***

A day later, Takeshi let me out of the tube. It felt nice, but he immediately put me in chains again.

I felt stronger than ever.

I felt overwhelming power flowing in me. My core is my heart, my power source, my soul, and it gives me life energy.

Then I remembered something: these chains never sealed my power away. The only material that restrained my power was the straps wrapping me when I was sitting on the chair.

These chains were just weak metal that I could easily break and tear through with little to no effort at all. I guess Takeshi forgot to restrain me with the straps.

“Hey, Takeshi.” I suddenly said to him.

“What do you want? I also told you to call me 'sir'.” He responded coldly; he was always like that every time we talked.

“These chains aren’t going to hold me now, I'm a cyborg now, right? Plus, these can't restrain me.” Then, before Takeshi could react, I broke through my chains with ease and punched through his stomach with my fist; he coughed up blood. I crush his insides and bones.

“Wh-what the…” he coughed.

“This isn’t even one percent of the pain you gave me. Thanks for this superhuman body, I guess.” I then drilled my other arm into his heart, crushing it, and the room turned it into a bloody mess, killing him.

“Finally.”

I detected scientists and soldiers coming my way. I gotta go, I thought. Then, I heard Ai’s footsteps. She opened the door roughly.

“Rei! Are you okay!? I heard some coughing and-.” Her voice cut off when she saw Takeshi’s dead body.

“Yeah, I’m good.”

“Did you kill him?” She was still in shock from Takeshi’s dead body.

A pool of blood underneath his dead body filled the room. His guts spilled onto the floor, making the scene more gruesome, while I just stood there, holding Takeshi's crushed heart.

“Yeah, I did, got a problem?”

“No… of course not… thanks for killing him.” She smiled slightly at me.

“Yeah, I need to stop the war now. I'll be back.” I stared blankly at the ceiling.

“Do you think you’ll be okay?” She sounded worried as heck. Why did she care so much about me?

“Yeah, I will be okay, stop worrying.”

She nodded, and I jumped into the ceiling, destroying the roof and flying up into the sky. The battlefield was filled with dead bodies and destruction. I landed in front of a Chinese tank. They shot at me, but it only gave me a scratch on my torso.

“I thought these beams of light could vaporize tens of layers of steel easily. What happened?” I said as I got ready to punch the tank.

I destroyed the tank in one punch, making the pieces of the tank fly into outer space and into the sun, killing the people inside. The other tanks saw this and shot their beams of light at me at full power, but the results are the same. Barely any scratches on me as they kept shooting. My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.

Even though I obtained all this stupidly absurd power, I didn't kill any more people other than the people in the tank I punched to the sun.

Now the Japanese government wants me to end the conflict between us and China. They let me keep my long hair, but they said to cut a little bit so my hair doesn’t get in the way when I fight, so I cut my hair to shoulder length.

Even though they said they would bring backup for me, I pushed them away and said I could do this myself.

I smashed tanks into pieces without killing anyone, and destroyed guns. I was so fast, it looked like I was teleporting around. And guns don't hurt me, my metallic body is so hard that bullets dent when they come in contact with my metal body.

A month later, I ended the war between China and Japan by crushing their tanks and destroying their guns without killing anyone… except for that one tank I threw into the sun; we don’t talk about him. I was let go and went back to my little sister in Tokyo.

I can't really let my little sister know that I am a cyborg, so I will now try to mask my emotionless face with a fake smile and try to look happy.

The hardest thing to do is to look happy and cheerful, because I can’t feel any emotion, happiness, sadness, or anger; all these emotions mean nothing to me anymore since I'm a cyborg.

Creator

Hello again, everyone. I have also finished episode 4! I love writing this for you guys because it puts my creative brain at work, my teachers from my first grade had always told me that I had a creative brain. When they told me that, I instantly changed my dream job from a firefighter to an author! (Though, I don't expect myself to become a famous one).

Well, right now, I am working on episode 5, stay tuned!
