Before I knew it, it was already nighttime, and I had to hurry to the bakery. Tonight, I just hoped Ash wouldn't come back. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if someone asked for help, but if it was a gangster... well, that's a concern.
"Qian, you'll be alone again today. I have to go home soon because my mother is sick. If there's anything wrong, just call me."
Okay, as usual. I have to keep watch all night by myself again. It's been like this for the past five days. I don't mind.
It's already eleven-thirty, and I have to get ready to close up shop. Ash isn't here tonight, thank goodness. Hopefully, it will stay that way.
A day, a week, a month, and a year. Ash didn't come at all. Argh, damn it. Why was I waiting for him? This was my last day working here, at this bakery. I'd saved up a decent amount of money. I was going to move to the city, become a permanent employee at a company. Truly, this was my dream.

This morning, I'm going to work for the first time as a full-time employee. I don't really have high hopes, because I know the working world is tough. Really tough. But that's okay, I can only hope everything goes smoothly. If not...
I don't care. Besides, I'm not a fortune teller who knows what my future holds. So, I'll just get on with it before I go crazy from overthinking things that might not happen.
However, if I look back and look at the past, I realize I miss Ash, for some reason. The first time I saw his face, I felt like we'd met before. Not just passing by, but really close.
I don't know, maybe it was just a hunch. And, I'm not sure about one thing. Remember that year I said I fell asleep sitting up but woke up in bed?
