The school ground of IOP was buzzing with tension. Hija and his gang stood in formation, facing a lone figure walking toward them—Era.
Hija sneered, “That reason you gave? Sounds pathetic. Got anything better?”
From the upper floors, students crowded the windows, watching with wide eyes.
Era, calm but fierce, replied, “For that reason alone... you won’t leave here in one piece. If you’re lucky, you’ll leave breathing.”
Hija, taken aback, scoffed, “Oh? I tried talking to you nicely, but now you’re getting cocky.”
Era suddenly rushed forward and landed a double kick straight to Rohan’s chest, knocking him flat.
Hija (thinking): He’s fast...
“Get him!” Hija shouted. “Take him down!”
The fight erupted—22 against 1.
Era was surrounded, but his training showed. With swift punches and well-placed kicks, he knocked his enemies down one after another. But it wasn’t enough—each time one fell, they got back up after a few moments.
One gang member managed to land a punch on Era. Though it hit, it barely affected him. Fueled by rage, Era grabbed the attacker’s hair and delivered blow after blow to his face—seven or eight full-strength punches. Blood poured from the boy’s mouth, nose, and eyes. Even his teeth scattered to the ground.
Finally, Era delivered a brutal elbow to the skull, and the boy collapsed, unconscious.
The other gang members hesitated, fear creeping into their expressions.
Hija yelled, “Don’t be afraid! He’s just one guy! Just a school kid! Take him down!”
The fight resumed. Now angrier, Era began grabbing and slamming his opponents. One shoved him to the ground, and four to six members swarmed him with kicks—but Era caught one of their legs, pulled him down, and created a chain reaction that took out the rest.
He stood again.
Hija (shocked): Even after all that… not a single drop of blood from this kid?!
Three gang members were already unconscious, and Rohan was out from the start. Now 17 remained.
Era grabbed two opponents and smashed their heads together repeatedly until blood poured down their faces. They dropped.
Only 15 left.
Inside, teachers and students gasped from the windows.
Rita: “I had no idea Era was this powerful!”
Raman: “He’s always so quiet in class... maybe that’s why.”
Era delivered a devastating punch to someone’s back, then twisted and snapped both legs. Another enemy tried to punch him, but Era caught the fist and crushed the arm with a flurry of strikes.
He didn’t stop there—he grabbed one guy by the neck and, even while being kicked, held on. He caught another one with his free hand and choked both simultaneously, holding the grip until foam came from their mouths. Both collapsed.
He shoved a finger into one enemy’s eye.
He crushed another’s groin.
From 17 to 15, to 13… 10… 5… 4… 3… 2… 1…
Until all were on the ground.
Hija (terrified): “What kind of monster is this?! He took out 20 of us by himself! What kind of guy did we mess with?!”
Rohan: “Do something, brother! He’s coming!”
Hija: “There’s no way to escape. I can’t drive, and you’re in no shape to. I’ll have to fight this monster myself.”
Rohan: “You can do it, brother…!”
Inside the school, the 11th-grade class was frozen, watching the chaos.
Teacher: “Wait… is that really our student Era?”
Pinky: “Yes sir… that’s him.”
Teacher: “He just beat 20 people by himself. And they’re not even moving. Is this really that same quiet boy?! I can’t believe it!”
Rita: “Unbelievable…”
Back outside:
Era: “Didn’t you say something earlier… about my sister?”
Hija: “Oh, right. I said she should’ve just let herself be kissed. But now? I’ll do far worse—after I kill you.”
Era (fuming): “That ego… it’s what gets people killed. And now… it’s your turn.”
Hija: “Bring it on!”
Era rushed forward and landed a brutal punch to Hija’s back. Hija retaliated, but Era dodged and kicked him hard in the leg, making him stumble.
Then, he launched a series of punches to Hija’s back, each one stronger than the last. Hija started coughing blood and collapsed. But Era wasn’t done.
He straddled Hija’s chest and pummeled his face. Blood streamed from Hija’s eyes, nose, and mouth. When it was over, Era stood, and then…
He delivered a savage kick straight to Hija’s groin.
Hija screamed.
Again. And again.
The area turned red.
Era: “Now… not only will you never hurt my sister, you’ll never even think of hurting anyone else again.”
Hija: “Aaaaaaagh!! T_T”
Rohan: “Brother!”
Era turned to Rohan.
Era: “Oh yeah, you’re still here.”
He walked up and ripped out a handful of Rohan’s hair, blood pouring from the scalp.
Era: “That seems fair.”
Suddenly, sirens.
Police arrived.
Officer: “What the… who did this?!”
Era: “Oh, that was me. You can arrest them—they were causing trouble at school.”
Officer: “Wait… all this? You did this alone?!”
Era: “Any doubts?”
Officer: “…Not really. But we still need you to come to the station to give a statement.”
Era: “What?! Why me?”
Officer: “Just procedure. We need to know what happened.”
Era: “Fine. But I didn’t do anything wrong. And if I get charged or jailed for defending my sister… let’s just say things won’t end well.”
Officer: “Is that a threat to law enforcement?”
Era: “Not a threat. Just a warning. Interpret it however you want.”
