It was Tuesday evening like every other day all the stuff of K&K was trying to finish their work fast, as the time to leave office for today has come. You can see the rush in everyone except Mariam, she was deep in her thoughts while Sanjeet was passing by her desk. Watching her lost in somewhere gave him an chance to talk to her. So he shouted loud, "Mariamm" which broke her chain of thoughts and she came back to reality and now was fumbling- y- yes Sir, how can I help you?

Sanjeet- Come at my cabin within 2 minute.

Mariam was cursing herself in her mind for such mistake and hurried towards his Cabin.

She entered the cabin after knocking the door, and stood at a safe distance.

Sanjeet started scolding her saying - What were you doing Miss Mariam?(Mariam's ignorance towards him makes him mad at her quite frequently, not that he tells Mariam the actual reason but whenever he gets a chance he tries to get an upper hand over her)

Mariam- Sorry sir, I am not getting what you are talking about.

Sanjeet- I have seen you lost in your own world. This office is not a place for your daydreaming, here you come to work and, if you can't concentrate on your work then just submit a resignation later and leave don't waste the precious time of  this office.

Mariam doesn't know why Sanjeet is always so extreme on her. Even a simple mistake of her causes her so much humiliation. She doesn't know what she has done wrong to him, or is he like this with everyone?she knows the answer that he is not, in case of others he is only strict when he needs to be and soft on the other times, but in case of her its always an extreme reaction. The scenario was not like this in the beginning, he used to be a sweet guy, but since the previous 1/2 month's he has become this rude version of himself towards her.

It was getting hard for Mariam to take this rudeness all the time and lumps were forming in her throat, but she had to be strong for herself and her family, so suppressing the weakness she stood confident and said - Sir, I may have been lost for a few seconds but my todays report is alread done. So I guess I can day-dream or do anything else I want, as I have completed the task given to me before the time of submission.

Sanjeet was dumbfounded. He never gets a chance to get an Upper hand on this girl. And that is what attracts him more. But Mariam never understands his feelings which angers him these days.

He controls himself and says- Even though you have finished your work you didn't come to give me the final report, should I think you do this all the time to not be given more task ?

Mariam- No sir, this was the first time. And it won't happen again.

Sanjeet really wanted to break the girl and make her say sorry to him. But with this answer he knew he is expecting the unexpected. So he just thought to let her go.

Sanjeet- Okay, you may leave now, and bring the report ASAP.

Mariam took a sigh of relief and was about to move to her desk still lost in previous thoughts & the scolding she received just now when suddenly she collided with someone who said in anger- Look where you are going blind girl. Before Mariam could react or look at the person she collided with, the person already entered the CEO's cabin.

Mariam again cursed herself that this is not her day, one after one bad thing is constantly occurring, now she just  wants to get out of here, she looked at the watch in the hope of it being close  to 5PM. But to her bad luck it still had 30 minutes until 5.

She went to her desk to collect her report. After submitting the report she headed back to her desk and waited for 5 keeping a sharp eye on her surrounding so that she doesn't get scolded again.
