Mariam went home after the mentally tiring day with worry lines on her forehead. Upon entering her house her mother Asfina khan called her, " Mari where are the things I told you to bring?"

Mariam calmly replied- Sorry maa I forgot.

Asfina: Ain't you forgetting too much these days? Where is your mind?

Mariam was silent, after getting no response her mother got angry and with a high pitched voice asked- "Are you seeing someone mari?" You seem lost these days, remember one thing we won't allow such sins in our family.

Mariam retorted- No mother I am not seeing anyone, and I have not forgotten the lines you have taught me for years.

Asfina- Watch your tone mari, Don't forget you are talking to your mother, if only your dad was alive, I wouldn't have to bear such audacity from you. Says Mariam's mother in anger with loud voice.

If not mariam was already upset she became more upset and locked the door with loud thud. As she can't take it anymore.

Locking the room's door she went straight to her bed to cry a bit and wash away her pain with the flowing water through her eyes.

After a good 50 minutes she woke up from bed and came to drawing room changing her cloths into comfortable ones' and sat with her siblings. Her only source of joy in this cruel world.

Alisha snuggling to Mariam - Dii  how was your day?

Mariam while ruffling Alisha's hair - My day was good pumpkin, how was your day at college?

Alisha - It was good di.

Mariam - And no one bullied you na?

Alisha - No di, we don't have that much bullies, or even if we have they never bully me for some reason, with side eyes towards her brother who is busy on his phone.

(Note: their brother is an ex student of Saint High College where Alisha studies now, so we can guess why Alisha is never bullied in her College.)

Back to Marisha(Mariam & Alisha)-

Mariam- Hmm, thats a good thing at least you are having a good time.

Alisha- Thats for sure di, you know today I was called by Seema Miss for Dancing in the next college programme. And I am really excited for that.

Mariam- And how did she know about your dancing skills?

Alisha- Remember I told you a few days ago some seniors came at our class to make a list of studnets who can sing, dnace or take part in other activities. She got it from there.

Mariam- Nice my pumkin, you will get a chance to showcase your talent on the bigger platform. When is this event going to happen?

Alisha- After a week.

Mariam was again in deep thought. Seeing her lost in her thoughts Alisha called her- Di dii where are you lost again?

Mariam- No where pumpkin, You guys continue chatting, let me see maa, she must be getting angry working alone in the kitchen.

Alisha- She is always angry thats not a new thing about this women.

Mariam slapping her shoulder- Thats not how you talk about your mother, If maa hears this she will get more angry. And she leaves saying this.

Mariam silently helps her mother, her mother also took her help without any verbal war this time.

They finish their dinner without any banter. And leave to their respective rooms.

This time Mariam didn't cry entering her room, she started thinking about all the things she is going through and how can she overcome it all. Its middle of the month which means she have to pass 13 more days from the little money she have, last month she didn't receive her salary, which her family doesn't know, her mother asked her to bring ration which she couldn't bring due to shortage of money, and now her sister wants to perform in college which will required dress and others Accessories , she don't know how will she manage all these. She have some friends but not close enough to share her deep pains. Sometimes she wishes she had someone with whom she could share all her pains, all her thoughts or someone who could even underscored her silence. But unfortunately she has none as such.  Thinking all this a lone tear escaped her eyes & she closed her eyes, after a while she drifted to the darkness of sleep.

Next morning she was running late for her office, and she couldn’t afford one more mistake which will give Sanjeet a chance to scold her, thus she was rushing towards the lift that was already quite full and had 2/3 more space.

As she steps inside the lift, someone else also entered the lift at the same time as a result Mariam collided with that person. And even before looking at that person she knew it was the person from last day, with whom she collided as she remembered that person's fragrance from the last collision.

This time she quickly snapped her head to look at the person. And it was none other than arrogant Miss Divya who doesn't acknowledge anyone and probably doesn’t even know that they work on the same floor at same department. How does Mariam know that? Well she has seen Divya working silently and not really talking or mixing up to people just like she or some others do. Even when she is approached most of the time she gets angry, she even gets angry on slightest matters, Mariam doesn't understand why Sanjeet never takes any action on her, may be because she is rich which shows from her clothing.

There are also rummers about her dating every boy of their company which Mariam doesn’t know is true or not, but one thing is clear that this girl is a total red signal.

Mariam's chain of thought broke as Divya tells her- Are you really blind or do you like to get in my way?

Mariam on the other hand tried to pretend she didn't understand that she was the girl from last time. So she said-What do you mean? It is the first time we collided, how can you say that?

"No you stupid girl, it is the second time" - Divya said with anger filled voice.

Even though Mariam wanted to get back on Divya, the fact that Divya noticed her actually amazed her and she dug up more saying - how come second time?, this is the first time we are talking, and I don't  even know you.

Divya was losing her patience now, she said," What are you saying don't you remember getting in my way last evening while you were coming out of Sanjeet's room".

Mariam - And how would I know that I didn't see your face.

Divya -Yeah because you are blind go get an appointment and check your eyes.

Mariam was taken aback with Divya's attitude and before she could say something else their lift reached the 11th floor. And they got down from the lift, and Divya went to her desk giving a stern look to Mariam saying -"Never get in my way understood?"

Which made Mariam extremely angry and she mentally said, "this girl again reminded me why I hate rich people, they have so much attitude and don't think anyone else human other than themselves. And with this she also went towards her desk for work.
