Neapolitan Nightmares

Chapter: 3

Chapter: 3

Aug 09, 2025

As the days continued to pass, Sieglinde somehow found herself managing to survive a week. She slowly got used to this routine again. Having to stay seated, having to stand up, speak only when spoken to and don't cause trouble. Aside from that little incident with Ms. Hanagaki, she's been managing to take each day like a breeze.

That doesn't mean her paranoia isn't active every second she's around that woman.

She highly doubts that her teacher simply forgot about choosing another punishment, she hoped that could be the case, but Lin is nowhere near that lucky. Yumeko Hanagaki is planning something. Those dastardly looks she gives to the Lucia and her, those weird smiles…she even heard the woman giggle when they walked passed during lunch.

Sieglinde couldn't decide which was worse, not knowing what was awaiting her or finally finding out. Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted as a certain redheaded girl with purple eyeshadow slammed a soccer ball on her desk. "For the last time, Ingrid Goldpryce, I don't want to play."

The redhead scoffed. "And once again, Sieglinde Neapolitan, I'm asking for a duel not a mere match for fun." She slammed the ball down again on the same spot, the force causing Sieglinde's pencil case to fall down. The bag was closed so nothing spilled out, but Sieglinde's head popped a vein still, knowing that all of those pencils now had their core broken and would split anytime she'd have to sharpen them. "It's finally a nice sunny day, you can't talk your way out of this match anymore!" Sieglinde managed to avoid Ingrid's incessant cries for battle with the excuse that it was too cold, too wet, too whatever, anything to get this girl off her back. Today however she couldn't use that excuse and Ingrid is the type of kid who still hasn't grasped the meaning of No.

If Ingrid wants something, she'll do anything to get it. That sort of attitude is admirable, perfect for a hard worker, this line of thinking is what got her to become captain of the school's soccer team. Really sucks how this line of thinking also made her as stubborn as a goat.

Sieglinde doesn't want to get into trouble. All she has to do to get Ingrid away for good is to deliver a good ol' knuckle sandwich…but Yumeko's threat still lingers in Lin's mind, she's still on her teacher's bad egg list so she doesn't want to cause anything that would lead her into deeper trouble.

Ingrid pressed the ball directly against Lin's face. "All I ask is one match! Cowardice doesn't befit you, Neapolitan."

The blonde girl grabbed the ball and punched it out the window, which was luckily open this time. The ball rolled directly where it should be, the school's sports field. "Fine, if it gets you to fuck off I'll do it."

Several people standing nearby seemed surprised, including Ingrid herself. Not at the ball getting thrown out, not at Lin's use of profanity, but at the fact that Lin actually agreed. Usually it took months and several bloody noses, it's unusual for Lin to give in this easily. Still, Ingrid was not about to let this chance slide. She grabbed hold of Lin's sleeve and dragged her outside as recess time was running out.

Some of the class followed along, Katie, Xaiden, Aesop and Lucia specifically, the rest didn't actually care that much. The last one to show any kind of notice was Rosa, but not enough to run along with them. Instead she took a seat close to the windows and watched from afar.

A strong gust of wind blew by as the two girls stood on different sides of the field. The rules were simple, first one to get three goals in the other person's net wins; if the clock rings before a third strike the one with more points wins by default. No early moves, but no need to completely play by the rules either.

A few kids from other classes, notably ones also part of the soccer team, gathered around and started cheering. Aesop waved a little flag with Ingrid's face on it, given to him by the captain herself.

Just before the match started Xaiden adjusted his camera. He was trying to get a picture of the girls, but Lucia bombed the shot and put the cap back on the lens. "Don't be a creep, Xaiden. This is a soccer match not some fuel for your gossip blog."

The rather strangely dressed boy removed the cap again, completely ignoring Lucia's plea as he moved closer to Lin's side of the field. "These matches may not be the most interesting thing in the world, but everybody loves a cat fight…especially if it turns into an actual fight."

Lucia shook her head, moving closer towards Lin's side more than anyone else.

Katie headed down to the grounds and dug out a plastic whistle from her pocket, she raised her arm and after a silent three second countdown she gave a long fweeet!

Ingrid got to the ball first. With her pants rolled up a bit, Sieglinde took notice at how much more defined Ingrid's legs have gotten. The redhead gained some serious muscle during summer break it seems. She seemed faster, her reflexes sharper and her movements just as precise. Her mind and body completely synced.

That's when Lin remembered, she wasn't playing with the same girl anymore. Ingrid became captain of the soccer team last year, with that came many changes…mainly in the club funds department. This summer the team headed off for a training camp in the city, where they've been coached by actual professional players rather than their gym teacher.

Lin was starting to regret not fully paying attention during first day's show and tell, where Ingrid explained all the things she's learned and tricks she picked up. She was genuinely struggling this round and pretty soon Ingrid gained the first goal.

"One to zero, Goldpryce is our hero!" Aesop cheered from the side, Katie repeated the mantra and pretty soon almost everyone around the field chanted that phrase.

Sieglinde didn't care whether she won or not, the sooner this game ends the better…but, goddamn, she really wants to wipe that smug grin off of Ingrid's face right now. Lin threw off her cardigan; her legs may not be as strong as Ingrid's, she may not be the fastest either. But her arms were huge, durable and as they both decided, sticking to the rules is optional.

A few boys from the peanut gallery let out loud cheers. For a second Lin thought it was because they were impressed by her muscles, but of course, she then realized her large chest got all the attention instead. It wasn't just them though, Ingrid stood there in shock for the second time today as her eyes were completely focused on Lin, giving the blonde girl a chance at getting the ball first.

When Ingrid finally snapped out of it it was already too late, Lin kicked the ball high up before punching it straight into Ingrid's net. "You…That's a dirty trick!"

"Hey, we both agreed to loose rules."

"Using your charms to stun your opponent?! Utterly low of you, Neapolitan!"

"…Hm. That's what you meant…"

The town of Berrymarrel, a quiet and honestly boring little town where nothing ever happens. At least not anymore, now that "The Wolf" is no longer roaming the streets. Nobody was prepared for his return, the serial killer who's always seen yet never caught.

It's up to three girls at Sellavie Elementary to end his story.

Sieglinde, who wants answers. Lucia, who wants revenge and Ichigo, who's just trying to have fun with her besties.

(All characters are depicted as 18 or older, even if stated otherwise.)
