Charley's P.O.V.
My face heated up as I stared at Sang-ook's determined face. He's not shitting me. “Tell you what. How about I call out for today and we go out and do whatever you want.” He said as he realized he was not going to get an answer from me.
“Anything?” I questioned to keep us off the last subject. He nodded.
“Anything.”

I stared at the sheer cloud white satin fabric and felt it. It seems perfect for the design I am going for, but how much does it cost? I flipped the tag over and gasped before leaving it be. Sang-ook, noticing my actions, spoke. “How much is it?”
“It's three hundred per yard and I need about eight yards of it.”
“Two thousand and four hundred dollars altogether?” I nodded. “Get it?” My eyes widened.
“Sang-ook, that's two thousand and four hundred dollars.” He shrugged his shoulders.
“From the gasp you made, I thought it would be more than that.” This is how people with money think? Would I have been like this had I not been paying for Jocelyn's loans? I may not have made as much as Sang-ook likely makes, but my salary was a nice one, I admit. I had to work hard too. “What are you making with this, by the way?”
“I want to make my wedding dress.” She looked at me. “By the way, when are we having the movers bring over my things? I need my mannequin.”
“How about we make an appointment for today? In the meantime, we can continue to do whatever you want.”
“I could design my wedding heels in the meantime until they bring my mannequin. That means I need to get the perfect pair of shoes. Okay, after here we need to go to the mall.”
“Not the wedding boutique?” She shook her head.
“No, I have an idea for the shoes, and I need to go to the mall to get the exact shoe I am picturing.”
“Charley?” I looked behind me to see Brayden. A smile came to my lips.
“Brayden”
Sang-ook's P.O.V.
The once-normal woman looks bright when seeing this man named Brayden. I've run into him a few times. Normally, for business reasons in the past, but he is known as a large business tycoon. Our third-ranking competitor also. Normally, I ignored him, but he has been rising in status faster than usual this year. What made me notice him was that moment at the ball. He was able to get Charley's full attention and put a smile on her face.
“Congratulations on the engagement once more.”
“Thank you,” Charley said as she leaned her back against the cart. I held it to prevent it from moving.
“You know, they say that you two fell in love at a ball. Is that true?” He asked.
“We did,” she said earnestly.
“Wow, was it love at first sight, or did you two meet each other before that?”
He's curious, isn't he
“We met each other a few times before that, but at that ball some time ago, it was almost as if we were drawn together. I knew right then that I couldn't just let her go. I took the chance and asked her to go on a date with me,” I said. She looked at me. I arched my brow. She looked back at Brayden.
“Now you two are engaged. That's nice to know.” He looked at our cart. “Is this stuff to make clothes? If so, what do you have in mind?” My phone vibrated. I looked at it to see a text message from Gabi.
“You know, there are always other craft stores to go to,” Gabi is here? I looked around in confusion. As I failed to locate her, I messaged her back.
“Where are you?”
“I’m not too far from you all.”
She's not-
“This is good. Now I can meet this woman in person.” I have a feeling the ‘this woman’ part is not being used neutrally. I have to find her and stop her, but if I were to leave Charley alone with this man, who is to say that would go well? I looked in all directions around us.
“Your idea for your wedding dress and shoes sounds beautiful. Then that one part of your fiancé's suit will tie it all in.” Charley nodded as her smile grew brighter.
“I felt the same way when the idea came to my mind. It's so exciting to do something different.”
“Your fiancé is a lucky man.” I looked back at Brayden to see a small smile on his face. I know that smile. That's his business smile. One he is known to make when he has a plan.
I looked at Charley. From what I remember in her story, Brayden did her homework in high school, and she made prom dresses for his older sisters. His look now, those past memories as well, who is to say that at one point in time, he wasn't in love with her? Then there is a chance that, just like in business, he would try to take Charley away from me. My brows knitted.
Like hell that will happen.
“Sang-ook,” my eyes widened as I heard the voice. I looked behind us to see Gabi with a bright smile on her face. I looked at Charley to see her face tense. My eyes looked at Charley's fist to see her fighting to ball it. She's pissed, I know it. “Nice to meet you, Charley. I am Gabriel Lyons. The woman you spoke to yesterday on the phone.”
