That day was extremely crowded, full, packed. For some reason, it felt like so many people were sick. On top of that, there were rumors that a new disease would spread uncontrollably. In fact, there was still no cure for the virus. There were only relief medications available, and even those couldn’t heal. The medicine was still being produced in America, and it would take years for it to reach Korea.
Night had fallen, and the patients who had come in had returned home to rest. Truly, the two of them looked like people who hadn’t slept in a week. Back then, while they were eating together in the hospital garden, a patient suddenly fell from their wheelchair. Still holding their cups of rabokki, they put them down and went to help. That was the first time. After eating, they walked back toward the room. When they reached the front of the elevator doors, a crowd of patients arrived and pushed them aside, flooding into the elevator. It happened twice, as if they weren’t allowed to take the elevator.
Huff, in that case, they decided to use the stairs. The problem was, their room was on the fifth floor.
“Ugh, I really don’t feel like taking the stairs…” Tian complained, stretching his back to prepare for the climb. Kihyeon ignored him and walked ahead toward the stairs. Tian still felt extremely lazy and waited for the next elevator. He had only looked away for five seconds when Kihyeon was already gone, nowhere to be seen.
'Awh!,' someone hissed from the top of the stairs.
Tap, tap, Tian quickly climbed the stairs, hoping that the person was okay. After climbing at least ten steps, he saw someone sitting on one of the steps, holding their ankle.
“Are you okay?” Tian approached, lowering himself to check the condition of the person’s ankle.
“My ankle... I think it’s twisted.” It was Kihyeon—he hadn’t paid much attention to his steps, so when he tried to step onto the next stair, the tip of his foot missed, and fell.
“Oh my god, Kihyeon.” Tian smacked his forehead. He was so worried, it felt like his heart could’ve burst out of his chest. Too much isn't it?
