Chapter 10 - part b

Chapter 10 - part b

Aug 15, 2025

A man stood next to him and said, "Hey."

He looked up, completely taken aback by how attractive the guy was up close. Those sharp grey eyes seemed to look right through him, and all he wanted to do was sink deeper into his chair.

"Uh, h-hi," he stammered.

"Is it okay if I sit here?"

He bit his tongue, wanting to tell the guy to fuck off, but he just couldn't bring himself to do it. He wanted to be polite.

He nodded, and the man smiled as he took a seat beside him.

"So, you like being here all by yourself?" the man asked.

He glanced over at him.

"I mean, you're sitting here alone while your friends are out there dancing. I guess clubbing isn't your thing," the man continued. Renee stayed quiet for a moment before responding.

"Yeah, not really. They kind of dragged me into it," he admitted.

"Got it. By the way, I'm Pierre." The man extended his hand, and Renee stared at it, confused.

"Pierre? My name is Pierre Martin." It clicked for him, and he hesitantly shook Pierre's hand. "I'm Renee Daniels." He quickly pulled his hand back.

"Oh, that's a cool name! I thought Renee was a girl's name, though," Pierre said as he signaled for a waiter and placed an order.

Once the waiter left, Pierre turned back to him.

"It's actually a unisex name," he replied.

Pierre nodded in understanding.

"You haven't been here before, have you?"

Renee blinked a couple of times. "Well, y-yeah. How do you know that?"

The man grinned. "I've been to this club a lot, and I've never seen you around."

Renee nodded, feeling a bit lightheaded after finishing his drink. He wasn't sure why; the cocktail didn't have any alcohol in it, right? He was a bit lost in thought when Pierre spoke again.

"Since you're here alone, how about I keep you company? What do you think?"

Renee smiled back. "Yeah, that sounds good."

Just then, the waiter returned with the drinks Pierre had ordered.

He handed a glass to Renee, who took it and examined it closely.

"You got me a drink," he said, glancing at the guy who was grinning at him.

"Yeah, well, your glass was nearly empty, so I figured I might as well buy you one," Pierre replied, taking a sip of his white wine.

"You really didn't have to do that," Renee told him.

"Not a big deal. I wanted to. Plus, I said I'd keep you company, so why not chat a bit?" Pierre suggested.

Renee leaned in slightly, lost in thought.

"But there's nothing to discuss," he murmured.

Pierre found himself captivated by the man in front of him, the club lights casting a glow on his smooth, pale skin. He had been struck the moment he first saw him.

As time passed, they began to talk. Well, Pierre did most of the talking, but Renee seemed to enjoy it, laughing at Pierre's little jokes. He was definitely tipsy, starting to giggle in that way he did when he drank too much.

"Can I ask you something?"

Renee blinked at him, a goofy smile on his face. "Go for it."

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

Renee frowned. "Nope, I don't."

"Oh, okay, but why not?" Pierre's curiosity was piqued about why such a gorgeous guy was single.

"Why do you want to know?" Renee shot back.

"Because I'm curious why someone as beautiful as you is still alone." Pierre's words made Renee's cheeks flush. He rarely blushed; the last time was when Tristan had kissed him on the cheek. But this guy's compliment made him feel warm. It had to be the alcohol; he was sure Isa had spiked his drink before handing it to him.

He would deal with her later.

"Well... I don't think love or dating is for me," he said, fiddling with his fingers. "I want something I can't have, and it hurts so much," he admitted, looking downcast.

He hadn't realized how close Pierre had moved until he felt his warm breath on his face.

"It's fine. Sometimes we don't get what we wish for; that's just how life goes." He would have pulled away right away, but being drunk clouded his judgment. He let Pierre touch him, feeling his hand on his face as he gently stroked his thumb across his cheeks.

"Who is he?" the man with grey eyes asked, clearly intrigued about who had captured the attention of the brunette in front of him.

"He's my... um, he's my best friend. We had a fling that was supposed to be casual, but I ended up wanting more. The problem is, he's with someone else. I can't shake him off; he's always on my mind. It's like he has a permanent spot in my head." Renee felt a lump in his throat as tears threatened to spill from his eyes. "I just want to move on, but these feelings I have for him are so strong and confusing, making it impossible to forget." It was strange to be so open with a complete stranger. If he was sober, he wouldn't be doing this.

"It's alright," Pierre murmured softly and smiled at him. He was clearly a bit tipsy too.

In that moment, it felt like time stood still. Renee couldn't pinpoint how or when it happened, but suddenly, their lips met in a gentle collision. It was unexpected, and he sat there, frozen, as the kiss deepened slowly. It felt odd yet nice. When Renee didn't react, Pierre began to worry that he had made a mistake, but all those thoughts vanished when the brunette started kissing back, his mind racing. Their lips moved together perfectly, and Renee found it hard to think clearly.

Pierre let out a frustrated groan at the sound, loving it so much that he craved to do even more to this guy just to hear those sweet noises again.

Somehow, Renee found himself outside the club, though he couldn't remember how they got there. Pierre had him pinned against the wall, kissing him passionately and teasing every inch of his body. He was definitely turned on and enjoying what the man was doing to him. When he felt Pierre's crotch press against his, their bodies colliding, a muffled moan slipped from his lips.

Renee wanted to take things further, to tell Pierre to throw him in the backseat and fuck him senseless, or maybe let him ride him. Maybe if he hooked up with someone else, he could finally forget about Tristan.

He whimpered, tugging on Pierre's collar, wishing for his tongue to explore his mouth endlessly. He craved it, needing to escape from everything.

Renee's eagerness should have pushed Pierre to go further, but he pulled back, gazing at the brunette with half-closed eyes, breathless.

"Why did you stop?" Renee asked, almost in a whine.

"We can't do this," Pierre replied simply.

"Why not?"

"Because you're drunk, and I don't want to take advantage of that."

Renee looked away, feeling frustrated. He thought Pierre just didn't get it. If they didn't go through with this, he wouldn't be able to forget about him, and getting over him would be impossible.

Pierre gently cupped Renee's face, making him look into his eyes.

"As much as I want to make you feel good right now, I can't let my desires take over. I know what you're feeling; it might seem like you want this, but you're not ready. You'll regret it later and feel worse than you do now. You're drunk and not thinking clearly."

Renee stayed quiet. Maybe Pierre was right; he didn't want to end up regretting anything.

"Do you want to go home?" Pierre asked.

Renee nodded, feeling uncomfortable. He just wanted to be in his own space, in his room, where he could lay down and clear his mind.

"Let's go."

Pierre had his hand on his lower back as he guided him toward the parking lot. He soon realized they weren't heading to his car but to another one.

"Whose car is this?" His eyelids felt heavy, and he leaned against Pierre for support as he stumbled.

"It's mine. Come on, let's get you home."

"But what about my car?" he mumbled, lifting his head from Pierre's shoulder to look at him.

"You can pick it up tomorrow; it's safe here. I own this club, so I'll make sure it's taken care of."

He nodded in understanding.

Pierre helped him into the car and fastened his seatbelt.

Then he got in and started driving.

"Where to?"

"6702 Petaca..."

"Got it."

When they arrived at the house, Pierre parked and assisted Renee out of the car.

Renee swayed a little, and Pierre quickly steadied him.

"I'm fine, really. Thanks," he chuckled, a bit tipsy.

Pierre grinned. "No problem."

"Good night," Renee said as he made his way to the front porch.

"Good night."

Pierre waited until he saw Renee enter the house and heard the door click shut before finally getting into his car and driving away, a smile on his face.
