After listening to what Meirei said, Cyrin stomped down the hallway, still fuming. When he reached Veyr's room, he didn't even knock; he kicked the door open and walked in.
Veyr was sleeping on his bed, hair all over his face, knocked out like nothing in the world bothered him. Cyrin thought to himself, "Look at him, sleeping like he didn't drop a time-ticking bomb downstairs just now."
"Oi, wake up," Cyrin muttered, snapping out of his inner world, grabbing his shoulder, and shaking him.
Veyr cracked his eyes open slowly, staring at him with a lazy, bored yet sleepy look.
Cyrin dropped onto the edge of the bed, rubbing his face with both hands. His voice, thick with exhaustion, came out tired. "Do you even get how exhausting this is? Every time you disappear, every time trouble shows up here, it's me picking up after you. I'm sick of it, Veyr. I really am.".
Cyrin's expression turned serious. " Anyways, those old bastards are at it again. Our people over there are saying that they're sniffing around for a defective batch."
Veyr sat up a little, leaning on his elbow, eyes turning cold.
"I wasn't out for fun- I was out for more information exchange, on my way, I had to kill two rats crawling out of their holes."
Cyrin's eyebrows shot up. "Is the omega downstairs? Is he one of them? You brought him here to interrogate, right? Don't tell me things would end up like last time."
When no reply came from the Veyr, Cyrin let out a sharp breath and started pacing.
"Fine, if you don't wanna tell me who it is, fine. But just tell me it's not like last time. Can you guarantee me things won't end up like last time?"
"I don't know who he is.", Veyr replied flatly. "I just found him in some alley."
That only made Cyrin more irritated; he tried to keep his calm and ask slowly. "So, sir Veyr doesn't even know who he bought home."
Veyr replied with a blunt 'Yes'
After Cyrin managed to calm himself down from whatever the absurdity he had just heard, he snapped at Veyr, "So what? Am I free to do anything with him then?"
He added, but this time with a serious expression. "I think I've seen him before somewhere."
Veyr gave a sharp and serious look , "Is it from some shady place we know of?"
Cyrin replied, "No."
"Alright, then," Veyr said, flipping his quilt over himself and ready to sleep.
Cyrin's eyes went wide, in an absurdly shocked expression on his face, "What's with the synchronicity? Am I the only one concerned here?"
Cyrin once again asked if he could do whatever with the omega downstairs.
Veyr turned fully towards him, expression sharper than a knife. "Do anything you want-except something dirty. Don't even think about it. Sexual harassment is not my cup of tea. I hate people who do that."
Cyrin clenched his fists, struggling to maintain his composure. He closed his eyes and shouted, "Seriously, what kind of image have you had of me since childhood? Have you ever seen me with any omega other than Meirei?"
As Very rolled over, his face stayed blank. "I don't know. They say Alphas can't be trusted. Maybe you're one of them."
That broke Cyrin's nerves. He snapped, "It's good the first floor was given to you, because you deserve to be alone with that mouth of yours. I guarantee you, with that mouth, if you don't improve it, you're gonna end up alone for the rest of your life with no partner.
Veyr smirked faintly and closed his eyes again. "I can always count on you, Cyrin. If I can't find a wife, I'll just marry you instead and turn you into my wife, our children will be so pretty from my genes... and chubby from yours.
"You son of a-!" Cyrin exploded, spitting curses at him. Veyr cut him off and said, "Before leaving, close the door," then went back to sleep. Soon, within seconds, his steady breathing filled the room, leaving Cyrin speechless and enraged."
