Abby groaned at her alarm clock, she was having the best dream and then the asshole woke her up.

“Better you than Ms. Cardell,” she huffed into her pillow, reaching for her phone on her nightstand. “Shit!” Abby cried, jumping out of bed and blowing through the living room scaring the shit out of her roommate.

“What?!” Rory hollered, jumping to her feet.

“I slept in!” Abby yelled back, sliding into the bathroom and just barely managing to stop before tumbling into the bathtub.

Rory frowned at her phone. “It's only six thirty; you don't go in until seven.”

“A big business deal with some company based in Eden. Nick hasn’t been able to seal the deal over the phone so Ms. Cardell and he have decided she will go in person and seal the deal with her ever-charming personality,” Abby scoffed, quickly squeezing out too much toothpaste onto her toothbrush.

“And…?” Rory weighed, stopping outside the bathroom.

“Annnnd Ms. Cardell likes to be on time, which means I have to be on time. The flight is at eight, and she always plans an hour for getting to the airport, through security, and to our gate,” Abby sputtered, spitting.

“But you have noooo concept of time,” Rory laughed.

“I know! That's why I was supposed to go to bed at ten and wake up at six, but I got caught up in my game and didn't get to bed until twelve. I got so worried about getting enough sleep for my brain to function that I forgot to set an alarm for six!” Abby growled, quickly running her comb through her hair. And I forgot to shower!” Abby froze, throwing her hands up.

“Relax, go get dressed, put on a lot of deodorant and I’ll make you a bagel and fill your thermos,” Rory cued, turning towards the kitchen, “And don't-”

“OW!”

“Fall.”

“Shit,” Abby mumbles, freezing as her eyes land on a very irritated Melanie Cardell. As if she could sense her the older woman’s gaze shot to her, “Double shit.”

Ms. Cardell didn't say a word as she turned her body towards Abby and sent a glare that said Here. Now.

“I am so sorry Ms. Cardell, I forgot to set an alarm then security-”

“Save your excuses for someone who cares,” Ms. Cardell growled, leaning inches from Abby’s face. “Your ticket. We’re about to board,” the older woman grumbled, handing Abby her ticket before turning to watch others begin to board.

“Yes, ma’am,” Abby sighed, adjusting her bag as she glanced at her ticket, “Uu-uh Ms. Cardell?” Abby choked.

“What?” Ms. Cardell growled, just loud enough for Abby to hear without turning around.

“Uhm, my ticket…it says first class and I…” Abby trailed off as Ms. Cardell turned to face her, her icy blue eyes sending shivers down Abby’s spine.

“Yes?”

“Uhm, I bought economy or at least I thought so…I must have messed up-”

“I upgraded you. You are my assistant, you can not assist me from economy seating,” Ms. Cardell stated irritably.

“Right.”
