Chapter 3
After a while Samuel was able to teach multiple new spells to Adam including projectile, shielding, and a new spell for Samuel as well.
“Ok, let’s try this again.” Samuel and Adam were trying to teach each other a spell called Water Heal, “So its, Martianimitoteloca Comtenis”
Adam nodded, he focused on a bowl of water they’d brought down. It moved a little and glowed. “Did it work?” Samuel cast lightning zap on his own fingers, and dipped it into the water. When he pulled it out it was fully healed.
“Yep.” Samuel looked at Adam and smiled,
Adam’s mouth was wide open, “You can just do that?”
Before Samuel could answer that question Eric called them up, “Hey guys, you're going to want to see this!” Samuel looked at Adam, summoned his staff and made Adam fly on it while he flew into the air.
“What’s up?” Samuel asked,
“The controllers just announced their plan!” Eric yelled, he ran into the room with a piece of paper in his hand. He handed it to Samuel, “It isn’t good.”
Samuel grabbed the paper, and read it aloud. “Us controllers have announced that we shall start to purify this world from the multiverse by summoning the all powerful HIM who shall assist us in helping control this world. We shall also be casting another spell to empower HIM, as you know this spell is also known as the Immortality spell. This is a great age for Marshlake, and a great age for the common elf.” He looked up, “This is insane right?”
Eric nodded, “Ya that spell has been banned for years, so much so they got rid of the entire recipe.”
Adam looked at the paper, “Maybe they're using something else?”
Samuel remembered something, “HIM has been trapped in the void for thousands of years, maybe he has gotten enough power for the spell to work. Like what the gods did.” Samuel looked up, “We can't be too sure though, as we all know the controllers always have a backup plan. Me and Jackson should try and get into the city, try to figure out what’s really happening.”
Eric nodded, “You're probably the only ones who are fast enough anyway.”
Jackson nodded as well, “We’ve done stuff like this before, we can do this.”
“Wait!” Adam said, “You're actually going to sneak into a cult circle, and try to stop it?”
Samuel knelt down next to him, “We’re not going to stop it, we’re just going to try to figure out what’s going on. Then together we’ll stop them.”
“You promise?” Adam asked.
“Promise.” Samuel said, “Get everyone, before we go they should know.” Eric nodded and ran to get everyone. “Now we have to figure out a way in. Is there a way through the tunnels?”
“Maybe, it would be risky though.” Jackson said,
“Risky is how we roll.” Samuel said.
Once everyone was there Samuel prepared to give his speech with Jackson.
“Well, as you all probably know by now. Me and Jackson are going to try and sneak into Elflem to figure out what’s going on.” Samuel started,
Jackson walked up, “It’s just to figure out what’s going on then we’ll be right back.”
Samuel nodded, “Exactly, we’re going to run in and check out what they're doing. Then we’ll be right out.”
Sylvan looked at them, “And what if you get caught?”
Samuel smiled, “In their eyes we're already fugitives, they’ll see us try to catch us. By the time they tell their captain we’ll be gone.”
“Yep, it’ll be a piece of cooked spike dinner. Oh by the way when we come back can we have cooked spike for dinner?” Jackson asked,
“Let's focus on this.” Samuel said, “If we’re not back by tomorrow morning we’ll be caught ok?” They all nodded. Samuel looked to Jackson who nodded, “Well, see you guys later.” Samuel and Jackson boosted out of the study, and stopped at the door to Elflem.
Jackson looked inside a bit, and saw soldiers. He waved, and put on his armor. “Hi guys!” He yelled, he ran up to them and knocked them out.
Samuel ran in, “Nice one.” Samuel summoned his staff, and prepared to cast a spell at any moment. “We just have to get a good view, you go through the city. I’m going over it.”
“What if they see you?” Jackson asked,
Samuel shrugged, “I’ll be going too fast for them to notice.” Samuel took off into the sky, and looked around in the center of the city. There were many new towers in the center, probably put there by the controllers. He moved forward at high speeds hoping no controllers were good enough to see him moving so fast. He saw Jackson who was waving him down. Samuel came down to him. “Anything?” Samuel asked.
“Nope, a few controllers here and there but nothing out of the ordinary. I mean, other than the crowds of people.” Jackson explained,
Samuel looked around a corner, and saw a bunch of controllers working in the middle of the city “Look, a bunch of them are in the middle.”
Jackson looked over to the middle, “Ya. They look like their gathering ingredients?”
Samuel gasped, “For the spells! They're getting ready for the spells! They must’ve found a way to cast knight’s magic again.” Samuel thought for a second, “Maybe when they’re using dimensional energy again? But that’s going against everything they believe in.”
Jackson rolled his eyes, “They’re all such hypocrites.”
Samuel nodded, “I know, but we should get out of here before anything else happens.”
“No they know we’re here, they double guarded the doors. We got to… fly out.” Jackson said,
“Alright hang on.” Samuel said Jackson had never been on his staff before, probably why he was saying it like that. Samuel and Jackson flew out of the city before anyone saw them, they thought.
Eric paced back and forth, “Alright, so they are planning what we thought they were planning.”
Samuel nodded, “Yes.”
“And they are gathering ingredients for the spells?”
Jackson nodded, “Yes.”
“So are we all doomed?” Charles asked.
“Maybe, yes. Definitely, no.” Samuel said, “If they are planning on casting three spells, then we know what they are. Immortality, Summoning, and Dimensional breaking. Which isn’t good. First would have to be the dimensional breaking spell, then summoning spell, then the immortality spell. I don’t even know why they’re casting the dimensional breaking spell, they’re supposed to be against that.”
“Hypocrites.” Jackson said and shrugged.
Sylvan sighed, “Ok, I’ll alert the counsel. You try to find a way to stop the spells, and by you I mean all of you. You're all learning Knight’s Magic.”
Eric slowly did a fist pump, Sylvan glared at him. “Just one.” Eric said.
