Chapter 4

Sylvan had told them to hit the books basically, and since Samuel and Jackson had the most experience with the magic they were put in charge.

Samuel started to explain, “So if they are trying to cast the Dimensional Breaking spell, we should probably start with that.” Samuel told everyone, He had brought them all into the Knight’s Library. He had also brought all of his notes with him, “So dimensional breaking is a very complex spell, and to reverse the spell is just as complex. It doesn’t use Knight’s Magic, but with Knight’s Magic we can reverse it.”

Jackson pulled out a few books, “Are these the ones?”

Samuel looked at the books, “Yes, Eric and Charles look through these books on dimensional energy, Carlene and Jackson start reviewing some spells that might help us.” Samuel looked to Adam, “We’ll start training.”

Samuel had decided if they were going to try and defeat normal magic with Knight’s Magic, then they’d need to train a lot more. “Alright, so you know very little spells and very little elements. But we haven’t talked about your personality.” Samuel started to explain.

Adam looked confused, “Personality?”

“If there’s anything I’ve learned from Jackson is that different personalities are what make a person able to use different types of magic.” Samuel explained, “So, we're going to try and figure out your limits and what you can do.”

Adam nodded, “Ok, so how do we do that?”

Samuel sighed, “Like this.” Samuel got into a fighting stance, “Just a small fight, and we won't hurt each other.”

Adam copied Samuel, “So what do I do?”

Samuel smiled, “Mohan will teach as we fight.”

Mohan appeared between them, “Good, you're taking it from my book aren’t you?”

Samuel smiled, “Only as much as I need to.”

Mohan laughed “Fight!”

Samuel immediately got to the high ground and cast his flight spell, he flew into the air and shot a blast of light at Adam. It went straight for Adam, but he cast his fire shield before it hit him. Adam retaliated by shooting a fire bolt at Samuel, failing miserably. Samuel on the other hand used that to his advantage and cast fire manipulation to grab the fire bolt, and gave himself fire armor. Adam gasped and cast water chains, he flung them at Samuel. He hit Samuel right in the side. Samuel stopped flying and fell to the ground. Samuel cast fly to catch himself, and then cast water heal on himself. Samuel summoned his staff, and pushed Adam to the ground using his staff spell.

“Ow!” Adam complained, he cast water chains and swung them at Samuel so hard he was pushed to the wall.

Samuel smiled, “I think you're ready.” Adam smiled

Once Samuel and Adam were done training they went back to talk to their friends.

“How are things going?” Samuel asked,

Carlene looked at him, “Amazing actually! We might have found a way to stop the spell!”

“Which one?” Samuel asked,

Eric looked over, “The dimensional one.”

Samuel snapped his fingers, “That’s the big one, yes! Alright, how?”

“It’s a simple spell really.” Eric said, “Just go up to the spell circle and activate it, it’s as easy as that.”

“Perfect. What about the others?” Samuel asked,

Everyone looked at each other, “We don’t know.”

Jackson held up a book, “This one says HIM can open dimensional barriers.”

“Wait what!?” Samuel asked,

“Ya, even if we found a way to stop that spell. He could do it anyway.”

Samuel let his head fall into his hands, “We got to find something!”

Jackson patted him on the back, “At least we know that we don't have to worry about one of the spells for now. Let’s focus on HIM and Immortality.”

Samuel nodded then realized something, if he were to make a strong enough counter spell would it just stop all of them? Samuel pulled out his note on runes, and combinations. He ran and got a chalkboard. Everyone was looking at him weirdly.

Carlene came behind him, “Hey Sam, are you ok?

“Cheery.” Samuel said back,

They all looked at each other and shook their heads, “How about you take a break?” Eric said

Jackson nodded, “Ya, you looked stressed.”

Adam looked at everyone, “Your acting like this is normal!”

Charles looked at him, “It is.”

Samuel smiled, “Don't worry I’m not going crazy, I think I found a counterspell combination.”

Adam looked at him, “You're going crazy, you just said counterspell combination.”

Jackson put his hand on Adam's shoulder, “Actually that's normal.” He said.

Samuel came out with a complex twelve rune combination, and only one word. Work. “This is a complex rune combo meant to stop any spell.”

“How do you know it can stop any spell?” Eric asked,

“Because of how simple it is.” Samuel said, “I can’t explain it now, only I need to know it.” He wrote it down on a piece of paper, “Just trust me on this.”

Sylvan walked into the room, “Hey guys I got the… Wow, what is that!” Sylvan said,

“The thing that's going to stop the Dimension splitting spell, and it might just stop the HIM spell as well.” Samuel said,

“Ok, so this is it. Are these runes are going to stop the spell?” Eric asked,

“Probably.” Samuel said, “But we still have to figure out how to stop the HIM spell, so keep working everyone.
