Chapter 6
After a long two days, the controllers announced that anyone could enter the city to see the day of “reawakening” they called it. Everyone from all over the continent was going, and so were Samuel and his friends. Samuel, and Jackson were on the walls of the city ready to strike.
Samuel nodded to Jackson who was in his armor, “Ready?”
Jackson nodded, “To stop a world ending event, always.” Everyone else was down in the crowd and made sure they were close to the center. The counsel had an army outside of Elflem, for what? Nobody knew, they weren’t going to defeat HIM. Suddenly a trumpet was blown indicating the first spell was going to be cast, the Dimensional one. Samuel and Jackson flew to the middle, and before it was activated they jumped down.
“Hey, how ya doing?” Samuel slapped the rune combination on the dimensional ritual.
The whole city went silent, as the spell was canceled. Multiple people grabbed Samuel and Jackson, Samuel had the canceling spell in his hand. He boosted out, but not before a shadow exited the ritual circle. Samuel was in the middle of the ritual circles, and was looking at the shadow. He couldn’t hear anything, all he could hear was HIM. Energy surged through him, and he passed out. When he awoke Jackson was next to him. Samuel woke up immediately, and could hear everything. People were screaming, and running. Some were laughing, and others just stayed silent.
“Samuel, come on!” Jackson yelled,
Samuel got up, he was badly hurt, but for some reason he could move perfectly. He could feel everything.
“Something's wrong.” Samuel said, he looked to the side of his eye and saw a white line
“Not now! We need to get back to school.” Jackson boosted them out of the crowd, but Samuel passed out after that.
Samuel woke up in the study, and saw everyone. They all looked warily at him, and stepped back. Samuel's head hurt, he sat up. Nothing had changed, he looked over himself. No scratches, bruises, cuts. He looked ok, but his friends were looking at him worried.
“What’s wrong? Why are you all looking at me like that?” Samuel asked, “What happened?”
Everybody shuffled their feet for a second, “Well um,” Eric said, “HIM was released.” He said, but he still looked worried.
“Guys I can tell you're hiding something. Samuel felt something weird about himself for some reason, he always was weird but more than normal.
“Um so, you stopped one of the spells.” Charles said,
“Ok, good.” Samuel said,
“Oh my god let’s just show him instead.” Sylvan brought over a mirror, and when Samuel looked in it he saw someone different. It was him, but he had white hair.
Samuel looked closer, he had white hair. He felt his hair, and it felt the same. He looked at himself some more.
“Alright, so what’s that about?” Samuel asked,
Eric winced “Well when an immortality spell is cast, the one being casted on for some reason gets white hair.”
Samuel’s mouth hung open, “I-Im-Im Emortal!?” Which turned into a crazy yell
“Yes, you're immortal.” Sylvan said.
“That’s insane. I knew it was real, but that’s insane.” Samuel said, “What about my life? Is everyone else going to die before me? Like what do I do?”
Eric and Jackson held his shoulders, “You live your life, and plus you already have a purpose. Kill HIM please.”
“Ya what’s up with that guy.” Samuel asked,
Carlene came forward “Well he hasn’t emerged yet, probably hasn’t found the breach from his end. Maybe if we find a way to close it?”
Samuel thought for a second, “No. We aren’t going to close it. There has to be a way to kill HIM.”
“We’ve been looking for that for weeks, and elves have been looking for that for centuries.” Eric said.
“Eh, I have an eternity. Might as well use it.” Samuel said, he got in a running stance. Samuel ran faster than he’s ever ran before. He looked through all the history books he could find, but something still felt different. When he dropped books it didn’t fall, was he going faster? It didn't really matter right now.
What was four weeks for Samuel was 10 seconds for everyone else, in this time he learned many things. One thing being that HIM was actually able to die, and that he had the tools to do so. Knight’s Magic. HIM was created from it, Knight’s Magic can always be counteracted by itself. Samuel started pulling Chalkboards and papers down, and he created a list of how other people stopped HIM. He was resistant to the void, that's why he couldn’t escape unless somebody made the void do that for them. So if Samuel had enough void magic on his side he might be able to defeat him. Samuel looked up everything he could about the void, he got scrolls, books, even stone tablets at times. One way to send somebody to the void was a void blast sending somebody to the void within seconds.
Samuel unsped time to talk to his friends, “Alright I might have found it.” Everyone was looking all over the library, “Sorry I needed space to put my research. Anyway, I found a simple spell that might be able to send HIM back where once he came.”
“How did you do this?” Sylvan asked,
“Oh I have no idea. Anyway, the spell is simple but it needs a connection to the void. Which I already have, so all I have to do is hit HIM dead center and poof he’s gone.” Samuel said, “But it might cause a hole in the universe.”
“So you have no idea how you did this, and you found a way to stop HIM. Nice.” Eric said.
“But there’s one more thing,” Samuel said.
“What is it?” Jackson asked
“I have to do it alone.”
