Chapter 4
It was time to see what Aaron’s abilities were, and they were all really excited for this one. Every good superhero had radiation in their backstory, hulk, captain marvel, all of them. They were all excited to see what types of abilities Aaron had, and they had to wait for so long.
“Aaron I'm pretty sure all you have to do is focus your strength into a certain part of yourself.” Tarin coached.
“Ya like that’s easy.” He said, he closed his eyes. He then created a spark of light like he’d done before. Tarin had a radiation meter on him, and an element detector.
Tarin checked the devices to see what he’d found, and it was cool. “Ok, so you can create particles that can become any state of matter. This includes gas, which is what you usually do to create those blasts. and solids which who knows what you could do with that. It doesn't look like you're able to do liquids though.” Aaron shrugged,
“Doesn’t matter, but do you think there’s anything cool I can do with my powers like you guys? You can run fast, you're as strong as a tank, and you're as athletic as they get.” Said Aaron
“Well we’ll keep doing tests to see what you can do, and go from there.” Said Tarin, Aaron nodded.
For the next two weekend days they tested their new abilities, finding that Aaron could actually expel the particles he creates to create blasts of light. In his words he thought that was “Actually cool” but Tarin thought just being able to do what he could do before was cool. Over the next two days Tarin had also been making some other things for them, something special. He was bringing them over to the base for the surprise right now, he was on the crossroad to the park. He heard a person yelling from a distance, and saw a car crash. He ran over to it at lightning speeds, he took out one of his surprises from his suitcase. Suits. His was red, like his lightning and the plant he touched. He quickly put it on, it was a good fit. He could see out of the mask perfectly, and his shoes were already friction-reductant. When he got to one of the cars and crawled into it, he got the person out and brought them to a safe place. Everyone was looking at him, but he wasn’t focused on that he kept getting people out of the crash. Once he’d gotten everyone out he unfroze time, and looked around to see if everyone was ok. People started cheering, and Tarin realized what he’d done. He ran with his suitcase to the base.
When he got there everyone was training, he ran in and took his mask off.
“We have a problem, and a nice victory.” He said, everyone was looking at his suit.
Colton squinted, “Did you get us suits?”
Tarin tossed them the suitcase, “There, but right now we need to deal with the problem that people know about me!”
Everyone looked at him, “What!” They said in unison.
Colton shook his head, “We aren’t supposed to show ourselves in public!”
Tarin nodded, “I know, but it was a car crash! I needed to do something or people would have died!”
Max nodded, “I agree with Tarin on this one, we aren’t supposed to show our abilities of course. But when there’s an accident, we should probably try and help.”
Aaron nodded as well, “I think it’s ok as long as nobody get’s hurt or sees our faces were good.”
Colton shook his head, “Fine as long as we have the suits on, sure.”
They all put their suits on, and looked at themselves. Each of them had their own color scheme. Tarin’s was red and black, Max’s was blue and gray, Aarons was green and black, and Colton’s was white and gold. They all had the same pattern on them, no symbol of anything but they still looked cool.
Colton nodded, “This is actually pretty cool.” He said.
Max nodded, “Ya great job Tarin.”
“Thanks, they should work with all of your powers. Even yours Aaron.” Tarin said,
Aaron smiled, “Really?” Tarin nodded. Aaron shot a blast of energy from his hands and looked at his suit, there were no scorch marks or holes. “Cool.”
“Right.” Tarin asked, “They're also super compactible, so you can hold them in a… I don't know, a pocket. Or a watch if I get to the time.”
Colton smiled, “Well come on, let’s go through the city saving people.”
Tarin laughed, “I don’t think it’s that simple.” His phone rang, it was a news update. There was a burning building, he looked up. “We have to go.”
Tarin was running as fast as he could, Max and Colton right behind him. Sinse Aaron hadn’t perfected his powers yet, Max was carrying him. Tarin didn’t know why, but he felt like he needed to do this. His friends seemed like they agreed with him, but he wasn’t all too sure.
Tarin pressed a button on the side of his head, “Hey guys, guess what I put in. Microphones.”
“Ooo, so we can talk to each other. Smart.” Max said.
“Guys, I don’t feel tired. Like at all. This is weird. Should we be doing this?” Colton asked,
“You're the one who said he wanted to go throughout the city saving people.” Tarin reminded him.
“Ya, but I meant like helping a cat down from a tree. Or walking an old lady across a road. Saving everyone from a burning building, I’m not so sure about this.” Said Colton,
“We’ll do this then be done with it for a bit, ok?” Tarin said.
“Wait! What if people find out who we are?” Aaron asked,
“Well, they won't. No face tracker or hacking device can see or hear us.” Tarin insisted, “Don’t worry it’ll be fine.” Tarin stopped when he saw smoke rising from a nearby area, that’s when he also realized he was about to be hit by a car. “Ok, I found the building. I’ll get there early, I’m sending you the location. I’ll start getting people out.”
“Got it.” Multiple people said at once.
Tarin arrived in front of the building, multiple people looked at him. One random person yelled out, “Hey, he’s the guy who saved those people in the car accident!” Tarin waved, and ran into the building. He could see all of the smoke, but it wasn’t affecting him. Must have been from his regeneration. He ran through the building. Before long he’d gotten at least eight people out of the building, that’s when his friends got there. “Look, it's new superheroes!” Somebody yelled. Tarin filled them in on what he’d done so far.
“Ok, I’ve looked through the building a million times but there still could be people in there. I also checked the stability of the building, and it’s not too great. Max you’ll have to try and stabilize it, Aaron you can shoot stuff if rubble comes down from the building can you destroy it before it does?” Max and Aaron nodded,
Aaron smiled, “Consider it done.”
Max nodded, “Same.” He ran into the building.
“Alright, you two not having regeneration, as far as we know at least, Have to stay outside. Aaron you know your job, Colton I need you to catch people.”
“What?” Colton asked,
“I’m going to throw people out and you’ll use your enhanced speed and agility to catch them.” Tarin explained, Colton nodded.
They were going to save a bunch of people from a burning building, wow. Were they superheroes?
