Chapter 4

“What do you mean he threatened to kill your mom!?” Asked Sorra the next day.

“Yes he also told me his plans for reasons unknown.” Train said, “He said he planned to take over New York then the world.”

Max was wide-eyed, “He thinks he can take over the world?”

“And that we were the only things in his way.”

Eithan shook his head, “Pretty bad supervillain, telling your arch nemesis your secret identity then telling the good guys your secret plan. Not the best.”

Colton shook his head, “It doesn’t matter that he’s a bad supervillain, what matters is how we keep Tarin and his mom safe.” Colton closed his eyes, “We have to tell her our secret identities.” Everyone gasped.

Eithan stood up, “First rule of superheroing, No telling secret identities.”

Tarin nodded, “That’s definitely an option, but maybe it doesn’t need to come to that.” Said Tarin, “Maybe we can super proof my house, make it so nobody can get in or out. Including a speedster.”

Max looked at him, “But we have no idea what this guy can do yet, what if he can pick locks? Or use his superspeed to get into your house.”

Tarin nodded, “Plus from what he’s already found out about me he could easily find out what my mom does for work. He could get to her before I could even get to the hospital.” Tarin shook his head in frustration.

“I say the best option right now is to lay low.” Sorra said, “For now, only low level missions. At least until we have the whole Dark Dash situation figured out.”

They all nodded in agreement, and started to suit up. Tarin had been working on new suit ideas, but it would take a while to make. After they got suited up Tarin patrolled the city a bit, then went back to base.

“Nothing going on, looks normal.” He said Sorra, Eithan, and Colton were all looking at something in the monitors. “Hey what’s up?”

Colton turned around, “You know how you’ve been looking for new ways to improve our suits?” he asked.

“Ya.”

Sorra turned around, “We might’ve found the perfect thing.” She smiled, scaring Tarin.

“No!” Said Tarin,

“But it would make us more ready! It would also allow us to suit up whenever we want.” Said Max,

“If we steal it from Genex we won’t be any better than them, and it might convince Dark Dash to come after my mom!” Tarin said back.

“That’s just it, we’ll already be prepared for the attack!” Said Max,

Tarin was smart, and he knew that one way or another they were going to get in trouble. If it was from Red Dash’s newest arch nemesis, or trying to steal a bunch of top secret projects from Genex one especially being the one that they needed.

Two weeks later they had everything planned, and all their alibis straight. They were meeting up for a study session at their school, everything was ready. Tarin just had to get out of his house and they’d be ready, he even custom fitted suits for them. Even Eithan and Sorra. Yes, they were coming on the heist. He knew it might be a bad idea to bring two non-supers on a mission, but the supers needed to make sure nobody gets the items afterwards. Tarin had the modified suits, and were bringing them to the base. He walked out of his apartment and waved to his mom as he did.

“I’m going to a study session, see you later!” Called Tarin to his mom,

“Alright I’ll be here if you need anything!” She said back. Tarin was really hoping she had to work tonight, but it didn’t seem that way. He closed his door behind him, and sighed. He quickly got his suit on in superspeed mode, and ran to the meet up spot.

Once Tarin got to the meet up spot, which was a small shipping dock, he started looking for his friends. He ran behind a large shipping crate, and found them.

“Hey guys.” Not seeing how much energy he’d built up, a wave of wind hit all of them, “My bad.”

Eithan shook his head, “No problem, just give me my suit!”

When they all put their respective suit’s over their clothes all of their faces were covered, and some of them had new features to try out. “Alright so all of us know what we’re doing right?” asked Tarin.

Eithan shrugged, “Me and Sorra get the stuff and we get out, we’re all safe from Méndez aka the Dark Dash.”

Tarin nodded, “Like he said get in, get out. Silencing suits, nobody can hear us. Intercoms, communicate. Eithan and Sorra your suits, with a little help from our friends up in china, can camouflage into your surroundings. So can yours Colton. Only me, Aaron, and Max will be able to see you.” They all pumped their fists, and found the buttons to activate them. All three of them disappeared, and once they were sure they were gone Tarin, Aaron, and Max prepared for a fight.

Aaron looked over the crates and came down, “Their the guards that attacked us in the building!” Aaron whispered.

Tarin thought, “This stuff must be important to them, if we take it it’s not just a win for us but a loss for them.”

Max nodded, “We gotta get this stuff now.”

Tarin went fast, and ran to the shipping area and grabbed a few of the crates and ran to Sorra. He gave her the box, then he grabbed another box. He ran to Eithan, and gave it to him. Tarin ran to grab one last box, and got it to Colton. He went into normal time, they all looked in their hands and saw the boxes.

“What’s wrong?” asked Colton.

“We gotta get out of here, the people loading up these crates are the ones who know who we are. They get us, we’re toast. They also must need this stuff, so if we do get it their toast.” Said Tarin, Colton nodded.

Tarin signaled for them to leave and ran back to Max and Aaron, “What’s up?” Asked Aaron.

“We gotta get out of here, no fighting them. They know who we are, they could ruin everything.” Said Tarin.

Max nodded, “Got it, do they have the tech?” Asked Max, Tarin nodded. “That’s all we came for, let’s go.” Tarin got Colton, Eithan, and Sorra. Then they all got out of there as fast as they could, hearing people yelling in the distance.
