Chapter 6

Tarin ran into his house so fast a gust of wind came in after him, he took off his nano suit and walked into his apartment.

“Mom!? Are you here?” He yelled worriedly.

“I’m here, listen to me. Everything is ok.” His mother’s voice came. Train didn’t care about using his powers anymore, he ran into the dining room. Sure enough Dr. Méndez was there, standing. With a knife to his mother.

“Tarin, what a pleasure it is to see you.” He said.

“You're a sick man Christepher, you know who I am. You know I can help you.” Tarin tried to convince the man.

“But that’s just it isn’t it, you took too long. So I made my own way out, now I have other people to get my antidote from. You and your friends aren’t useful to me anymore, it’s a shame too. I was liking the little rivalry we had.” The doctor mused.

“I never broke our agreement, why are you doing this?” Tarin sounded like he was begging, but he didn’t care. He just wanted his mom.

“Yes, but the point of the agreement was that you don’t interfere with my plans. That you and your friends don’t mess with me, and what have you done other than that?” He said.

His mom looked at him, “Tarin, what is he talking about?”

“Nothing important.” Tarin said.

The doctor smiled, “Nothing important, Red Dash.” His mother gasped, “You don’t know right? That your son has a secret superhero persona with his friends?” Tarin’s mother was at a loss for words, “Let me show you what people like him and I are capable of.” Méndez started vibrating his hand, and the knife vibrated with it. “Ten times the regular cut, no fingerprints. Perfect for the job, don’t you think?”

“Tarin?” The microphone from his suit came, “Tarin, where are you?”

Dark Dash smiled, “Ah, there’s one of them now. They all have incredible powers, and are incredibly skilled with them. Even the new one, Crimson Flame right?”

The microphone made a static noise again, then a voice sounded. “Crimson Blaze, you jerk” Eithan appeared in his house, and shot fire directly at Dark Dash. Méndez fell to the floor and the knife fell out of his hand, Tarin went to his mom. All of Tarin’s friends appeared, when he looked out the window he saw Aaron and Sorra flying. Well Sorra was standing on an object she’d made, did it count? Not now it didn’t.

Tarin got his mom up, “Come on I got to get you somewhere safe.” Tarin said.

“Are those superheroes in our house?!” She asked.

“Yes, now hold on.” Tarn hugged his mom and ran, somehow she clutched onto him long enough for them to arrive at base. And for her to scream a lot. Once she stood in the base and looked around and eventually saw Myer she screamed even more. Tarin held his mom’s hand, “Listen, I know this is hard to believe but for the past three years I’ve been a superhero. Méndez is my arch nemesis in a way, he made a bargain with me. We’d fight as hero and villain, and I wouldn’t mess with any more of his plans. I messed with something when the new supervillains showed up though, that’s why he was trying to kill you. I have to go now, Myer’s keep her safe please. You can talk to me over the intercoms.” He ran back to his apartment, which had actually stayed in good condition. His friends were facing the supervillains outside. “Alright, what I miss?” Asked Tarin.

The first to respond was Sorra, “Well, I can fly.”

“Ya I noticed that, I mean about the supervillains.”

Aaron talked next, “Well they all appeared out of nowhere and started attacking us, Dark Dash keeps trying to stop us from hitting them.”

Tarin nodded, “Because he needs them, he set this all up.” He looked down at the chaos that now laid in front of his apartment, “Alright, who’s got who?”

Eithan started when Tarin was punching all of the supervillains, “Well I was thinking we could all just fight our arch nemesis and then help each other out.” He said, “Sorra’s got Voltress, Aaron you got Quakeviper, Colton’s got Mind Master guy, and everyone takes the beast. Not too worried about him.”

“Got it,” said Tarin, “And I think I know who I have, my arch nemesis.” Tarin ran to Dark Dash, and punched him straight in the face. While sending an electric pulse into his fist. Méndez was blasted into the ground breaking the concrete.

“So, you’ve learned some new tricks? It’s bad you still don’t know my tricks.” The man ran straight at Tarin, Tarin swung his fist but it went straight through him. The man had phased, Tarin immediately realized and turned to push Méndez. He fell to the ground, but got up and swung a punch right into Tarin’s stomach. Tarin didn’t care though, all he could think of was the energy coursing through his body. He sent it all out into his fist to punch the speedster.

Méndez fell to the ground, and got up once again. Hurt this time. Méndez swung a speed punch at Tarin, but Tarin dodged with ease. He grabbed the doctor's arm and absorbed the remaining energy into himself, and punched the doctor in the stomach once again. Dark Dash now lay on the ground whimpering every now and then, but not dead. Good. Tarin looked around to see his friends beating up the other supervillains, and he looked down at Méndez.

“I’m glad you did this, all of this. You are causing your own fate, you believe that this power doesn’t matter and can’t be used by anyone but the strong. You are wrong, this power can only be used by whoever finds it. You have failed.” Tarin turned around and helped his friends take down the other bad guys, but failed to watch over his own.
