Chapter 2
After Tarin’s friends had officially met the Master Knight, and had been opened up to the outer multiverse. They got angry at him fast, thanks a lot Samuel.
“So you never thought to tell us about the multiverse!” Sorra asked, “And who is the person I know, because I know a lot of people.”
Tarin was about to answer when he was interrupted by his mom, “My son is being the smartest person in his school, a superhero, and a magic spy info collector! And he never told me!” Tarin thought that summed it up pretty well.
“All right I get it, so we have a few problems. I know this now, but he never told me about the whole we know someone. That’s new, and somehow ties into you.” Tarin pointed at Sorra, “He also never told me he was going to tell all of you the whole multiverse thing! I thought we’d keep it low, make sure nobody panics. But no, he had to tell everyone I trust. Now they're all mad at me and I don’t know what to do! I do know one thing though, that being that just came into our base is trying to tell us something is wrong, something is coming and we have to stop it!”
Everyone was silent at my outburst, Tarin’s mom came up to him and hugged him. “We’re sorry, but it’s a lot to take in.”
He hugged back, “Ya, I know. I’m sorry.”
Eventually everyone was in a big group hug, when an alert came over the computers. A new one, Tarin looked over to see a new device on the console. One obviously magic and put there by the Master Knight.
“You know, I respect the guy. I trust the guy, but he’s always one step ahead in the saving game.” Tarin looked to the screen to see a dimensional hole signal, which he only knew that it was called that by using his technopathic powers. “You guys ready?” When he turned around he saw his friends all in their nano suits.
Max nodded, “Let’s fight some interdimensional monsters, can’t wait to see what this Master Knight has in store for us.” Tarin smiled, happy to have such good friends.
“I’ll prepare the medbay!” His mom said running to her post.
“I’ll manage the computer!” Said Dr. Myer, running up next to Tarin. “Scooch, I need room to work.”
Tarin did as told and activated his nanosuit, “Alright Xeno Force, let’s kill some monsters.”
They ran to where there should have been a dimensional breach in the sky. Tarin helped get people away from the point. Aaron, Sorra, and Eithan helped with directing people from the air. Max prepared by making a pit, and Colton got the readings on the dimensional energy.
“Well Tarin, you were right. The readings are exactly what we were getting from the plants, wherever the plants came from the same place is opening up from here.” Colton said.
“Do we even know what exactly we’re looking for? Also, how did the Knight guy get all of that stuff he did done under a minute?” Asked Eithan.
Tarin sighed, “He’s fast, maybe even faster than me.”
“Wow! That must make you jealous!” Said Sorra over the intercoms.
“NO! I mean no. It’s fine, but right now we have to worry about whatever this is. Sorra, hide whatever’s happening from the people around us. I’ll make sure no technology can be in use.”
“Got it, slow poke!” Tarin clenched his fists, but focused on the technology around him. He closed his fists and all technology shut down within a five mile radius.
“All technology shut down.” Tarin looked around and saw people looking at their phones and trying to press buttons, but doing nothing.
“Do you really think we can trust that Knight guy?” asked Colton over the intercoms.
Tarin nodded, “I think so, he’s never done anything against us or the people. He seems like he has truly good intentions.”
“Then why is he using us and our powers for his dirty work?” Asked Max.
This Tarin was unsure about, he’d never thought about the fact that he helped the Master Knight with many tasks including giving multiple encrypted files in some kind of ancient language that the guy had encoded it into. He never seemed to have bad intentions, but it was hard for him not to trust him. Tarin thought about it and had an idea.
“Do you think it’s possible for him to have abilities like Sorra’s? Mind controlling?” Asked Tarin.
“Well obviously! He could be totally lying about this whole multiverse stuff and might just be making us look ba…” Before Max could finish his sentence a giant monster the size of a car appeared out of nowhere. “Ok, maybe this guy’s making some sense.” The creature roared and tried to swipe at Tarin, he just ran out of the way.
“Eithan, Sorra we might need some help down here!” Tarin yelled to them.
They flew over to the small crater the creature had created and started firing blasts of energy and fire at the creature, the monster swatted away the blasts and tried to slam Tarin in the head. He held his ground and took the hit, he felt the most powerful he’d ever felt. He ran to a ledge and slammed the monster into the ground, it roared and seemed to be knocked out. It didn’t seem to be moving, but they couldn’t take any chances.
“Guy’s take positions! Make sure it doesn’t get back up!” He yelled from the pit.
His mom and Dr. Myer came over the intercoms, “Hello? What’s going on?”
Aaron responded, “Tarin just did a boss move attack on some kind of giant lizard!”
Tarin wasn’t able to get a good look at the creature before, but he looked at it in more detail and saw its long snake-like tail and clawed hands. Its arms extended onto the floor and head had spikes running from its forehead to its tail. It was still alive, but knocked out cold. Whatever it was, it didn’t look friendly.
“Alright, so the Knight guy was right. Now we have to deal with giant monster attacks. Sorra! Mind erasing done yet!” Max asked, while standing at the head of the creature.
“Almost, nobody easily saw the creature but the ones that did are all done. Just have to make sure nobody calls the authorities, are you guys good for clean up?” Sorra asked.
Eithan sighed, “I’ll go find some way to paint the ground, you guys deal with the whole monster and crater situation we have.” Eithan flew off to, I guess, find some paint. Tarin and Max started cleaning up when a group of people flying, all in the same robes as the master knight wore came and started helping.
One approached Tarin, “Are you the one they call Red Dash?” They asked.
Tarin looked to Max then back at the person in front of him, and nodded. “Yes, I am Red Dash.”
The man held out their hand, and Tarin shook it. “It’s good to meet you, we’re the clean up crew you can say. We’ll get the monster out of here and replace whatever happened.”
Tarin nodded, “Perfect.” He then noticed the person had pointed ears, and was much taller than a regular human. “You aren't human, are you?”
The man nodded, “I am an elf, I work and live and the MDSC though.”
Tarin nodded, “Right, the foundation the Master Knight was talking about.”
“Yes, we keep things like this.” The man pointed to the now knocked out and evaporating creature they had faced, “and you, secret and safe. The Master Knight was very impressed with your battle, and so were we. We look forward to our future encounters.”
Tarin nodded, “Were you the person the master Knight said we’d meet?”
The man shook his head, “No I am not, but they will be arriving soon.” He nodded to his teammates and his hands glowed, fixing the destroyed ground the heroes had made. They were all painted too. “See you all soon.” The elf flew off and vanished in the blink of an eye.
Everyone regrouped where they just defeated a giant monster lizard, “So.” Aaron started, “That was pretty cool.”
Tarin nodded, “Ya, but just so you guys know that wasn’t the person we were supposed to meet. There’s someone else using magic here that we will meet, for now we should go back to base.”
They all nodded except for Sorra, “I got to go meet up with Lily, but see you guys later?”
Eithan nodded, “See you later, no identity stuff! I mean it.”
She nodded, “I know, I know.”
They all separated. Sorra to hang out with her new girlfriend, and the rest to be ready for missions. What they didn’t expect was a mission so soon.
