Chapter 3

When they got closer to the park Tarin’s mom came over the intercoms, and started yelling their names.

“Tarin! Colton! Is anyone there!” His mom yelled.

“Ow! Ya we’re here, what’s wrong?”

“We’ve been trying to contact you for an hour! There’s something going on up north, looks like that knight guy’s business.”

“We’ve got it.” Max said over the intercom.

“Alright, a hero, and a magic person’s job is never done!” Tarin ran all the way north and found a weird fight between some kind of interdimensional monster and a girl fighting it.

“Who is that!” Asked Eithan from above.

Tarin looked up at him, “How am I supposed to know, all we got to do is get her to safety!” Tarin ran so fast he created a little time zone, things moved really slowly. The monster was some kind of lizard again, but this time it didn’t have a spike on its tail and slithered around a lot. More of a snake than a lizard. Tarin ran for the girl, knocking her out of the way before the monster could hit her. The girl stopped moving and looked back at Tarin.

“Hey! This is my monster, What are you and all your weird super friends doing here! You're just superheroes, not magic users!” Tarin was too stunned to speak, the girl was moving in his time; she didn’t move slow at all, just like the Master Knight. “Well, what are you doing here! I need to get to my date soon!” The girl wore a uniform just like the mages they met before had worn, but with a small hood and cowl. She had no mask on, but it was hard to see her face anyway. Her uniform was a light violet, and had white lines on the sides.

“Wait, what is going on!” Tarin said, “You're a magic wielder like the Master Knight!”

The girl looked back at him, “You know about the magic world?”

“A little.” He admitted.

The girl nodded, “Alright, I’ll make you a deal. Help me get this thing where it belongs and we act like we’ve never seen each other, ok!”

“No, not ok, who are you!” He yelled.

“I am a Mage of Life, but you can call me by my superhero name. Luminastra!” Tarin unfroze time and ran away to talk to his friends.

“We have more than a monster to deal with, a new mage.”

“What? Who? I thought they only got the monsters away.” Max said.

“Well it looks like this one went rogue, I think she’s the one the Master Knight sent us to meet. She can run as fast as me with her magic.”

“Just like the Master Knight!” Said Colton.

“Guys let’s just help her out and handle all this later!” Eithan yelled from above. They all nodded, and went with Luminastra. She was trying to do something with her magic, but she looked like she was failing.

“I can’t knock it out with magic! It’s too powerful!” The beast tried to swat at the girl, but ran out of the way. “If you all can get me an open shot I can knock it out easily!” She yelled.

“Got it, guys flank it on its sides. Get her a clear shot!” Tarin said.

“To where?” asked Colton.

Luminastra created a multiple of herself somehow and started distracting the creature. “Preferably the chest or head, the chest would be the easiest spot.”

Tarin nodded, “Blue Basher! Can you distract it from the side to give her the shot!”

Max nodded, “I’m on it!”

“White Light! Get it up in the air!” Tarin yelled.

Aaron flew up and started shooting at it, “Over here, big and ugly!” That seemed to make the monster mad, it roared and swiped at all the heroes around it. The monster's eyes were glued to Aaron. Luminastra started creating more clones of herself, but one of them looked like she was creating a light of some kind. 

They kept distracting the monster for a while until Luminastra yelled, “Now!” Aaron flew over to where Luminastra was and the monster followed, when its chest was fully pointed at who Tarin imagined was the real Luminastra. Luminastra shot a bolt of white energy at the chest of the monster, and immediately it fell to the ground asleep.

“Yo! Magic is awesome, you know what Tarin, I forgive you for going with that Knight guy!” Aaron yelled.

As before the magical clean up crew showed up, not paying any attention to Luminastra and cleaned up the mess. They thanked Tarin and his friends, and he immediately went over to Luminastra. She, who had her hood off now, was looking over to a pond.

“Hey, Luminastra right? It’s nice to meet you, I’m Red Dash.” Tarin held out his hand, but she just nodded.

“I know who you are, Tarin.” She said,

Tarin jumped, “Alright, is there some kind of mind magic stuff going on here?”

Luminastra twisted her wrist to make a maybe motion, “Ya, but I don’t know if it can specifically read your mind.  Only know about you because the Master Knight has all of your information on you and your abilities in the Hero Files.”

Tarin was confused, “The what?”

She sighed, “Interdimensional hall of heroes, and for some reason I’m not in it. Even though I’ve saved half of the people in the multiverse by now.” Right then I noticed she was a human, not an elf like the other mages.

“Well, it doesn’t matter. It’s nice to meet you, even if you aren’t in the hero files.” Tarin held out his hand, she shook it reluctantly.

Luminastra looked at her watch, “I have to go, guess see you superheroes around? What do you call yourselves again?”

Tarin was about to answer her question when Eithan appeared next to him with Aaron holding his shoulder, Tarin jumped and Eithan started talking. “We’re the Xeno Force! Protectors of the city, and defenders of magic leaking into this world. At least that’s what the Master Knight guy said.” Tarin nodded, it did sum up the entire story of it.

“Well, I’m late for something. So nice to meet you, maybe we’ll meet in the future but probably not.” Tarin heard her say something like, ‘Sorry a gonna kill me!’ But he didn’t say anything.

“Well thank you anyway, especially because Violet Mind wasn’t here. We weren’t at full strength.” Tarin said.

Luminastra nodded, “Ya, by the way where is Violet Mind. It would be awesome to meet her!” Luminastra actually looked excited about Sorra.

Tarin made a quick excuse, “She just had to do stuff, superhero things.”

Luminastra nodded, “Whatever you say Dasher,” She snapped her fingers, and she ran away as fast as Tarin.

“I don’t like Dasher.” Tarin muttered.
