Chapter 6
They all went back to base, Lily mumbling. “Not again, not again, not again.” all the way there, when they got there they were greeted by Tarin’s mom and Dr. Myer. They stopped immediately and asked what happened. Lily sat back on the couch and shook her head.
“She always knew I hated this game.” She complained.
“What game?” asked Myer.
Lily sighed, “When we were little Velmora and I were the best of friends, and we made this game called the spirit and the soul. It was based on our respective magics. It was simple, you hit the person with the magic first and the game began. The person sets up a base of operations and hides their ‘Magic Item.’ There not actually magic, but it’s something that means a lot to them. The item must be stolen and either destroyed, there’s a time limit though. Three days, and she might cause destruction to the entire city.”
Colton shrugged, “So we get the item and win, then what?”
Lily sighed, “It’s not that simple, the item isn’t known by the other person. We have no idea what we’re looking for, and no idea where she’s hiding her’s.”
“We’re not actually doing this right?” Asked Sorra, “I mean giving into a little girls game, we’re not doing this right?”
Tarin shrugged, “If this is the only way she won’t destroy the city, then I think we have to take the risk of playing some children’s game.”
Lily shook her head, “It’s no children’s game anymore, she thinks she’s a god because of her magic. If she treats this like a children’s game, then it’s been nice knowing the big apple.”
“So what do we do now?” Asked Max.
“Well according to the rules,” Aaron said, “We need some kind of flag, or magic item or something. Right?”
Lily nodded, “One that means much to the person, but it doesn’t need to be magic. It could be anything.”
Sorra picked up a pen, “Then can you make it this?”
Lily nodded, “But I’m still not sure we should do this, Velmora’s known for her tricky ways of dealing with people.”
Tarin nodded, “I think we should do it, if we don’t we have no chance. If we do, we at least have that.”
Lily inhaled a breath, “Alright.” She grabbed the pen and a wave of energy flew through the building, and they all heard some kind of trumpet sound. “The game has begun,” She turned to me, “It’s her turn.”
