Chapter 2
Tarin wasn’t a big fan of the Master Knight, neither was his friends or Lily. She’d been rejected by them once she came to try and stop Velmora, but she was still helping them with the whole monster city thing. His friends were prepared for anything,
Tarin set up a small device he’d created from the parts left by the Master Knight the first time Tarin’s friends had met him. It was basically a small wacky tacky, except it sent transmissions into the multiverse. “Hey, um. Master Knight?” The device disappeared in Tarin’s hand. His friends looked at him, then at each other.
“Was that supposed to happen?” Asked Eithan.
Train shrugged, “I used magic in the tech, I had no idea what would happen. It could have exploded.”
Before his friends could ask what he was talking about the glow of a person entering into their universe. “Ah, your technology skills have not wavered.” Said a white-haired man stepping out of the glowing star. “But I prompt you to not use random magic from you or your friends.”
Tarin nodded, “Alright.” Tarin held out a hand to an open seat, “Would you like to sit?”
The Master Knight only seemed curious to this. He looked at the chair, and nodded. “Yes, thank you.” He sat down, and threw Tarin a small rock. “Next time use that during interdimensional communication.” Tarin nodded.
“We had some questions for you.” Tarin admitted.
The Master Knight raised an eyebrow, “Is that right?” He was only three years older than them, but he seemed much older than that. Lily had also told them about his immortality. And that for the rest of the existence of the multiverse, he’d be there to see it.
Tarin nodded, “Yes. We need to know how to exactly counteract the abilities of Velmora.” All his friends nodded agreeingly, “Which means, we need to learn some magic.” Tarin sort of disagreed with the idea of magic and its capabilities, they reached out of the normal physics of the average high school math class.
The Master Knight clapped his hands and stood up, “Well, you’ll be glad to know I’ve expected this for a long time and have set all of you up with the ability to go to the MDSC as you please.” The Master Knight pointed to only Tarin, Max, Eithan, Sorra, Colton, and Aaron. “But you already know what the MDSC is like,” The Master Knight said to Lily, “Would you even want to come back?”
Lily looked away from the Master Knight’s gaze, “We’re only coming as scholars, not students.”
“But you know even the scholars must take some classes, yes? For you already went through this information. Sadly there’s only one problem with giving all of you the ability to do magic, and that is you may never use it against non-magical things. In addition there is a cost to pay, you must come back at the end of your senior year of high school.” He turned to Lily, “As I’m sure you know.”
“What do we have to do?” Asked Aaron.
The Master Knight nodded, “You would have to create a new division for the MDSC, the powered addition. This will deal with all superpowered beings, including all of you.”
“So the job you already gave them?” Asked Myer.
The Master Knight nodded, “Perfect for them don’t you think? Kind of poetic.”
Tarin looked to his friends, who all nodded approvingly. “Alright Master Knight, you have yourself a deal.”
The Master Knight smiled, “You're already given pardon from your old school, and we have rooms ready for you at the MDSC. Our rangers will deal with the monsters and Velmora as much as they can. Welcome to the MDSC.”
