Chapter 4

Now I know, you’ve been tricked! You're the pawns of the Master Knight! If you’ve been keeping up with the full story, you know that’s not true. The next morning I was awoken by a paper flying over my face, I literally screamed. When Max woke up as well, we got dressed and looked at the flying paper which turned out to be our schedules. Tarin chose his elective without the help of Max or any of his friends, they got dressed in their new school uniforms and started into the school. He had this class called saff/wand magic class, not very helpful. He didn’t even have a wand, he just sat there watching kids do movements with their wands and them doing magic. Boring! Then he had lightning class, which he was actually interested in. They had been working on this speed spell, and obviously Tarin didn’t need any help with that spell. He walked instead, and just like that he was faster than all of the other kids. Even with their spells. Next he had Time class, which was actually taught by the Master Knight. He looked at Tarin gratefully, and gestured for Tarin to sit down. He gave a long lecture about how the timeline worked, which Tarin didn’t really understand. Apparently with time magic you could destroy a timeline by replacing one single event, and making it a new one. This would help the original caster, but not the entire mage community. Which it turned out he was now part of. As Tarin expected, the Master Knight asked for him to stay behind for a second.

“How are you liking your classes?” He asked.

Tarin nodded, “They're good, but I don’t see what these classes are teaching me to help defeat Velmora.”

The Master Knight laughed, “You know Velmora will not be the last.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Velmora is only one of multiple improbabilities, and as I was explaining in class. Using magic like yours, could change the history for her. So it depends on how you want to defeat her, do you want her to die? Or do you want her to lose all abilities to control the world?” Asked the Master Knight.

Tarin was about to say the second option, but for some reason paused remembering all the people she’d endangered over the years. “I don’t know, is there a way to control a person so powerful?”

“Your next class is history, I’ll be teaching it. You will learn what the word control means to the greater magic society. Also you and your friends all must come to talk to me after classes, I’ve told a few of your friends including Lily. She seemed most upset about it.” Tarin walked slowly to the door.

“Do you want me to…” When Tarin looked back, The Master Knight was gone. Tarin ran to his history class, whatever the Master Knight had said to him meant something. He just needed to learn what it meant.

Tarin ran into the classroom at top speeds, only being stopped by a hand in his face.

“Mr. Jacobs, I would prefer it if you didn’t run so recklessly throughout the school as you do. You could cause some people harm.” The man suspending him in the air was the Master Knight, but Tarin had no idea what was going on. “As I said when you all entered, Mr. Hatcher was late today. I’m substituting for this class for the time being.” The Master Knight made Tarin float over the desks until he was over an empty one and he fell into it perfectly, his history book opening to the exact page The Master Knight was talking about.

After his artifacts class he went to regroup with his friends, who were all back outside their rooms talking to each other. He got there just in time for Colton to fall on him, they were a two person pile-up. Once they got that figured out they started talking about how the Master Knight had asked to see all of them, and Lily groaned.

“Come on, let's go.” She started walking to the stairs, everyone else just followed. Tarin was just hoping this wasn’t as bad as Lily made it sound.
