Chapter 7
Tarin didn’t tell his friends about his little one on one talk with The Master Knight, but he knew his path. At least, he thought he did and he was actually excited by it. They walked into base, and right when they entered through the usually locked door they were greeted by Tarin’s mom and Myer.
“How was it!” Asked Tarin’s mom, “I know none of you actually wanted to go, but I hope it taught you as much power to defeat Velmora.”
Tarin lowered his head a bit, he had learned at his time in the MDSC that defeat can mean many things. He knew he was never going to kill her, he was going to ask the Master Knight for one more favor.
“Ya!” Max said, “We learned some pretty cool stuff.” Max snapped his fingers and jumped into the air. A plethora of rocks and minerals formed under his feet, creating a kind of floating skateboard. Myer’s mouth flew open, and he examined the spells they had learned. Which most had to do with their abilities of course. They sadly also explained the prophecy.
“He shall battle with his friends the servants of death.” Sorra said.
“He shall lose his friends for the fight to the end.” Said Max.
“He shall defeat death, but bring chaos with him.” Said Colton.
“A choice will be made by a rush of red…” Said Lily.
“The choice to see who prevails in the end.” Tarin finished, “We have to go to the highest of feats, as the prophecy said.”
Myer snapped his fingers, “The One World Trade Center, the highest point in the city.”
“But that’s a building,” Said Tarin’s mom, “Not a feat.”
Aaron shook his head, “For some of us that would take forever to climb.”
“And Velmora will have an army of servants.” Tarin said, “We need to prepare.”
Myer nodded, “Let’s go to The One World Trade Center.”
Tarin shook his head, “The Master Knight taught me a lot, one was that you shouldn’t mess with prophecy. Especially prophecy, whenever this game begins is when we’ll make our move.” They all nodded agreeingly, and an alarm went off. The alarm for intruders. “Aw come on.” Tarin mumbled.
A tendril of darkness lashed into the room, and spun claws at them all. Max tried to take all of the hits, being invulnerable. The tendril did not approve of this, and whacked him aside. It grabbed for Tarin, but Myer jumped in front of it. It held Myer and started to wrap around it, holding him in place. A dark voice crept through the building.
“You know, I always loved it when people don’t think.” Velmora appeared in the darkness, “I’ve been waiting for you Lily, and for your friends of course.” She stared at me, “What have the Magicians told you?” I jumped at the idea of how she knew that, “Yes, I feel you know something. Magic courses through all of you, I feel you're more powerful, but can you control it?” She laughed. “The One World Trade Center, that’s where I’ll do my final turn. You all have seen what I can do, now I’ll make sure you can’t say no to it.” Velmora held out her hand to Myer, and spun it. Myer gasped, and was released from the grasp of the tendril. Tarin’s mom screamed. “You know now, come to my final turn. I need you all there,” She turned to Lily, “Even you Lily.” She fled to the giant hole she created in the side of the building, and disappeared.
